If I were foreign and my first and sole contact with the Yoruba culture was through the 'home videos', I would think the women of that tribe are shrieking, pugnacious idle hands who do nothing but design devices against men all day and spend the night at the spiritualist's shrine.

I will think the men are noisy and thoughtless wine bibbers who love strictly sex, easy money and pretence to wealth. I will think they all have a big tribal inferiority complex that makes them feel a trip to London even if in a fake visa is the meaning of life.

I will have the impression that the young men are vacant of mind and completely lacking in vision besides to become experts at swearing and cursing and toying with women when they take a break from armed robbery and doing crack.

The anger, pugnacity and aggression in those videos is overpowering and nauseating to be mild. The simplicity of the scripts venerate mediocrity, superstition and utter foolishness, elevating mediocrity to the point of worship.

They portray their tribe in the worst dingy light possible and present their children as objects of intimidation and oppression. Hardly do people keep their words and most friendships end up on the slaughter slab of treachery. You can safely predict the trusting friend who helped the other with school fees will end up getting poisoned by the friend he helped all so she can convert the title deed of his property to her own.

Revenge is the rule, forgiveness is hardly known except forced Intl the script and acted in a most unnatural manner.

The women are hardly ever portrayed as capable of putting their brains to use except in scheming to steal a friend's spouse. And they never achieve anything with their lives besides marrying a rich and often abusive man.

At a point I began to suspect this could be a sinister programme to destroy they Yoruba race through negative portrayal but look a bit closely and it is the product of the race itself!

Those videos are the products of hurried, underdeveloped ideas, quickly parboiled to be served to unthinking people whose daily lives run on base superstition and archaic traditions. The central theme is to sell and make a little money before the buyers of the movies can get a little education and stop hoping in a swarm of spirits and in blind luck.

Absolutely nothing of value is espoused in these movies apart from a desire to make money by providing a feed for shameful ignorance. It is the rise of the aggressively ignorant section of the people, taking advantage of cheap technology and a market of deeply ignorant stream of people who were spawned in the Years of the Locusts, the years of darkness.

They affirm these ignorant swarm and tell them they are okay the way they are and they need not aim higher. After all, their type have gone to London and have brought back a used car with the sound system maxed out. They even built a duplex in Lekki - and isn't this the zenith of life itself!

So, what happened! Did this people produce Wole Soyinka and Ola Rotimi? Were Herbert Ogun'nde and Duro Ladiipo acorns from their tree? Did D.O Fagunwa right in that language and was it that tribe that produce Sunny Ade, Twin 77, Art Alade, Jim Rex Lawson, I.K Cairo and Orlando Owoh? Wow! That was another Yoruba entirely. It couldn't be this one!
Yoruba movie makers are doing a great disservice to the race. They write stories that make you question the sanity of the writer and the IQ of the target audience. Everything has been stereotyped to the extent that you could predict where the movie is going minutes into the movie.

Imagine watching an almost two hours movie without gaining anything. They are uneducative, unimaginative and unrealistic. The writers are not even putting any effort at all.

I know piracy is a huge bane to them but mehn. In fact, I blame them for the prevalence of ritualist in Yoruba land.

People like Kunle Afolayan and Kemi Adetiba still give me hope.

The 39 people found dead in a refrigerated lorry trailer in Essex were Chinese nationals who had travelled 5,000miles locked up for days, detectives have said.

Eight of the victims are women and 31 are men. All are adults.

One female victim was previously thought to have been a teenager. Officers said she is a “young adult woman”.

Police have begun the process of moving the bodies from the lorry to a mortuary.

The first 11 victims are being transported under police escort by private ambulance from the Port of Tilbury to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, having left the port at 7.41pm.

Staff from the Chinese embassy in London are expected to visit the scene where the bodies were found, the AFP news agency reported.

An embassy spokesperson said: “We read with heavy heart the reports about the death of 39 people in Essex, England.

Chasing a cruise missile midair. Missile’s flight has been captured from a Jaguar deep-penetrating strike aircraft of IAF, which did the chase duties.

The phantom project was not meant to be successful to the with and a lot of Nigerians also sabotaged the CCTV cameras.

Even the CCTV cameras recently being installed on pedestrian bridges are now being stolen.

PRESS RELEASE*

*TACTICAL BOOMERANG; SEVEN BOKO HARAM CRIMINALS KILLED EIGHT OTHERS CRIPPLED BY THEIR OWN IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE*

As the artillery bombardment and ground assault by troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) intensify across Operation LAFIYA DOLE Theatre, more Boko Haram casualties are being recorded. In a clear case that can be best described as a tactical boomerang, on Friday, 18 October 2019, some marauding Boko Haram criminals elements who were escaping the unbearable battle heat turned on them by NA troops met their waterloo as one of their vehicles, a Toyota Sam Sahara Model, stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) laid by them against NA troops at Lamba’a Forest along Jakana - Mainok Road in Borno State. The self-inflicted destruction consumed 7 Boko Haram criminals while 8 others suffered severe injuries. Consequently, troops have mobilised to the general area for route clearance and mop-up operation.

In another development, a syndicate that specializes in the smuggling of smoked fish from the Lake Chad region for sale in some parts of Nigeria have been busted by the diligent troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE. Reliable information available revealed that Boko Haram criminals/Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and their collaborators are using the fish business to finance and sustain their heinous activities. The proceeds from the sales are believed to be channelled into the procurement of food stuff, groceries, drugs, toiletries, vehicle spare parts and other items for the sustenance of their criminal activities.

Relatedly, troops of Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE while acting on a reliable intelligence, raided the residence of some suspected illegal fish smugglers near Water Board Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Monguno LGA of Borno State. Four suspects were arrested and 16 sacks of smoked fish concealed in a room were recovered. In a similar operation conducted by troops of Sector 2 Operation LAFIYA DOLE on 10 October 2019, 9 vehicles loaded with illegal smoked fish consignments were equally intercepted at Bukarti in Geidam LGA of Yobe State en-route Hadejia in Jigawa State. Consequently, 18 suspects including drivers, conductors, mechanics and agents were also apprehended.

In another development, troops deployed at a Check Point along Baga Road in Borno State while on Operation POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION arrested one Musa Ishaku while in possession of a fake Nigeria Customs ID card which he has been using to deceive security agencies. Additionally, troops of 1 Division also rescued 4 kidnapped students from bandits at Gurmi Village in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State after a brief fire fight with criminals. In Rivers State, troops of 16 Brigade Garrison (Main) raided a suspected Sea Pirates Camp at Tingibibi Ogu/Bolo LGA of Rivers State. The suspected sea pirates who obviously could not withstand the overwhelming fire power of the troops, fled the enclave in disarray. Items recovered from the camp include one AK 47 Rifle magazine, 5 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 3 cartridges, one binocular and 3 para red rocket. In the same vein, troops neutralised one armed robber during an anti-robbery operation at Adipet Filling Station along Rukuba Road in Jos North LGA of Plateau State. Others were believed to have escaped with gun shot wounds. Similarly, following confessional statements made by an arrested notorious bandit/kidnap kingpin named Yellow, troops of 3 Brigade tracked and arrested one of his gang members, Dahiru Dogo in Falgore Forest in Kano State.

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai wishes to reassure the general public on the resolve of the Nigerian Army to rid the society of criminal elements for a secured environment.

You are kindly requested to disseminate above information to the general public for awareness. Thank you for your usual cooperation.

Christianity Etc › Why Is It That The Only Right Religion Is Always The One We Were Born In? by Xbee007(op): 2:17pm On Oct 20, 2019
2 + 2 = 4, however, when it comes to religion, things aren't that simple. The answer to the simplest of questions depends on who you are asking. If you ask a Muslim how to make heaven, for example, he will tell you to believe in Muhammed as the messenger of Allah and in Allah as the one true God.

You ask a Christian and he will tell you to accept Jesus as God before you can make heaven.

You enquire from Babalawo and he is gonna tell you to bring palm oil, goats, sheep for the gods.

Why are things so complicated when it comes to religion? Why is the truth of religion subjective and vary depending on who you are talking to? And why do religious people feel their truth is the right one?

Don't we all know that truth is objective and not subjective, or are we so blinded by our biases that 2 + 2 can equal anything depending on how we are brought up,

Before the workweek commences, let me remind us of some incontrovertible truth that will remain the same whether you are talking to someone in China or in Nigeria:
1. 2 + 2 = 4
2. The earth is spherical.
3. Heaven and hell are fairytales.
4. The earth revolves around the sun and not the other way round.
5. The sun rises from the East and sets in the West.

Feel free to add yours.

You cannot just say it is because of corruption. Corruption exists everywhere including in South-Africa.

I don't doubt there is corruption in Nigeria.

How many APCs have we purchased since Yar'Adua?

There is also massive corruption in South-Africa, why do you think their Patria IFV purchase is delayed?
You doubt there is corruption in Nigeria!?

You probably must have heard of the case between P&ID and the Nigerian government. Well they were military contractor before they cable into oil and gas.

They ran scams with top military generals that ran into millions if not billions of dollars importing military hardware at cutthroat prices.

The Arab world is still 500 years backward, check your Islamic calendar and see for yourself. Their thinking is still primitive hence they still view religion as a means to an end (since they can never cope with modern science and technology). They only see religion as their only trump card to play in the game of who controls the state and it resources hence are ready to kill anybody that leaves Islam (world's largest political party).

So a full-blooded German man will open his eyes and convert to the most backward religion in the world that says his head should be cut off the day he decides to leave.
The only reason why Islam is spreading in Europe is due to immigration and the prolific nature of Muslims in general.
