Stop lying, SE cannot have a seaport because it has no access to the sea.

theoldpretender:
Let's be honest...and I am not defending any poltician

This election was bad...but then again, so were most of all the others, even the 2015 election that people are now saying was good.

And the simple reason is Nigerians.

Nigerians are ready to take bribe, ready to be paid to snatch ballot boxes, and ready to fight over poltical parties.

How about our National Assembly? They refused to approve electronic voting...twice.

The thing is, this election, for what is worth, there was no glossing over violence. But there is so much INEC can do. INEC did well...but so long as a group of armed people come with weapons, so long as people collect bribes...there is nothing anyone can do.
Imagine a person defending the police by saying:
This city would have been peaceful if not for the thugs.

We all know that thugs will be thugs, that is why we pay the police and other
security agencies.

You are muddling the water by absolving INEC and the president of responsibility.

Do you guys even check the dictionary before using a word?
What humiliation.
I blame the Nigerian educational system for turning out civic illiterates who
don't know that the Senate floor is for debate and not some army barracks where
commands are issued.

If a motion is raised and rejected, it is not humiliation, it is part of the process.

Watch as Bukola Saraki will try to turn the legislators against the executives these few days that is left for him, he will try everything to divide the Senate, he will instigate Senators to move controversial motion but he will fail, the disgrace he suffer will be small compared to the one that is coming upon him.

At the moment he is desperate and bitter more than he used to be, y'all should wait & see what will happen in the red chambers but no matter what he does he will fail.
You don't know the meaning of disgrace.
It is amateurs like you who think losing a match is a disgrace instead of seeing it as part of the game.
Do you really think that many APC senators that are not returning give a crap about Buhari or APC?

Politics › Re: Dangote, Emir Sanusi, Kano Elders Meet Over Inconclusive Kano Election by Xisnin(m): 2:46pm On Mar 13, 2019
mu2sa2:
The "rumour" about not allowing Ganduje to destroy kano is obviously false. The good thing about Kano people, though, is that they are the most politically sophisticated electorate in Nigeria. Nine or so FM stations, with 2 airing only political programs, serve kano city. With radio as an indispensable companion of an average hausa man, it is easy to discern why there is very high political awareness and voter turnout in kano (and North generally). A voter may vote Buhari, pdp in senatorial, Apc in reps and pdp in governorship elections - that's how they vote over there, and no violence unless somebody tries to do mago- mago.
Yeah, they are so sophisticated that 50% of them voted for Gandollar the open thief.
If the Kano electorate valued integrity over party, the result won't have been that close.
Politics › Re: Inconclusive Election: Women Protest In Sokoto by Xisnin(m): 2:40pm On Mar 13, 2019
olujastro:
How ignorantly ironical Nigerians are!

Under OBJ and Maurice Iwu, election results were written in bedrooms and announced in Abuja while collation was still ongoing in some states. Nigerians didn't protest

Now proper elections are being conducted and INEC is ensuring that every single person's vote is factored in before a winner is declared, hence the inconclusive declarations. But my ignorant countrymen are protesting instead of praising INEC and PMB.
Ignorance is indeed a terrible disease!

Politics › Re: Election Vs Literacy Level by Xisnin(m): 11:35am On Mar 13, 2019
oxytech:
I was not presenting an academic paper.
Not presenting an academic paper doesn't give you the leeway to make baseless assumptions.
I don't know what you are getting at, an analyst who wants to examine the relationship
between illiteracy and voting choice would have concentrated on the party which got 70% votes
and not the minority vote.

Also, if a state has an 80:20 illiteracy ratio, there is no reason to assume that both the literates and
the illiterates want the same thing in a candidate. You would need solid evidence to claim that the literate
and illiterate voters are evenly distributed among the top 2 parties.
This is even more improbable in the case of Nigeria where local powerbrokers determine the electoral
choice of large part of village dwellers. In many rural areas, you can predict the choice of majority of
dwellers by simply knowing which party the "strong" man in the area belog to.

Thus, any analysis that does not take into account the differences in effective electoral choice among
the literate and illiterate voters is fundamentally flawed.

Another useless analysis.
Can't people just think without writing?

If it is true that Northerners are politically smarter than Southerners why are many of the
Gubernatorial elections in the north inconclusive?
An inconclusive election shows that the people don't know what they want, they neither vote
for personality nor party.

This fawning over inconclusive elections should stop immediately.
Politics › Re: Rigging Kano Election May Set Nigeria On Fire, Babatope Warns INEC by Xisnin(m): 11:07am On Mar 13, 2019
festacman:
What is going on at the moment with Southern PDP supporters is very funny.

During presidential elections, majority of the electorates in Kano State and other Northern states voted for Buhari. They accused those Northerners of being politically primitive and underage voting.

Then came governorship election and PDP is top in Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, etc with already collated results, they are now praising Northerners of being politically sophisticated. Nobody is talking about underage voting again.

Mark my word. If the results of supplementary elections favour APC, the song will change once again.
Only ignorant people are praising northerners.
There is nothing sophisticated when 50% of the population wants a known thief Gandollar back in
the government.
There is a reason why all the places PDP is "leading" have inconclusive results.
If the populace had voted without sentiment, the results wouldn't be close.
