The truth is, we cannot choose who we will fall in love with it, and honestly, as long as you are happy in your relationship with her, then please do what your heart desires.

While it is good to be respective to our parents, we should learn how to draw that line between us and them when it comes to matters that affect our future directly.

If you want to marry her when you are settled ,approach your parents and tell them that what you need from them is their blessings, and not their money.

Goodluck.

Most of y'all Nigerians are hypocrites. When Donald trump said he's gonna deport illegal immigrants from the States, you guys were throwing rocks at him, yet you celebrate the deportation of others from your country.

@ miami11,
you were fast to curse at me and even called me a local champion when i kicked against illegal immigration. you see, there is no palce in the world that such act is acceptable, not even in Nigeria. If you violate the immigration rule , abeg no dey. grin

Miami11:
You don't make sence Obama whose father came from Kenya has compassion for immigrants and he is a president

Rubio does not care for immigrants while both his parents came from Cuba,
You that makes sense, please define the term illegal immigration and tell me where on earth it's constitutional to indulge or support it. You mean because his parents are immigrants, he shouldn't do the right thing as a senator/president when it comes to immigration?
Those who desire to come should do in the right way. Do you know how risky it is to keep undocumented immigrants? As a result, crime rates can't be kept in check and makes it difficult for the police and the governmental intelligence to track most crimes.

This ain't Rubio's, it's the republican agenda. President Reagan, arguably the best republican president in the history of America , was very though with the issue of illegal immigration. What Rubio wants to do is probably give amnesty to those illegal immigrants and make sure he build and fortify the U.S border against further illegal immigration.

Based on REP records, it would even be a bad ideal to win the Iowa caucus. I'm rooting for Trump or Rubio.

Miami11:
I don't care for Rubio, for a man that the family emigrated from Cuba for him to get a better life. He has had no compassion for any immigrant, he has made it so hard for immigrants in his state of Florida( Obama even called him out recently)
Being a liberal am team Hillary all the way
Almost all Americans are immigrants anyways. As a commander in chief, you have to be tough on illegal immigration, because those illegal immigrants are basically causing unemployment for the American people. You see, Some employers would rather employ an illegal immigrant because they get paid peanuts to do a job vs thet regular American who gets the minimum wage or more.

Bernie Sanders: We are going to raise the minimum wage to $15/hour.
In the year 2016, public colleges and universities should be free
raising the minimum wage would be a bad ideal. It going to make it difficult for small scale businesses to get more employees and that will create more unemployment.

Bernie Sanders and Clinton, Hilary have no good ideal on how to govern the American people, they're just combinations of Obama's disaster.

One of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Donald.J Trump to be the next president of the United States.

Yes I also just finished watching the movie live on the WWE Network from 2am - 5:10am. Triple H winming it was really sad. The authority once again have a reason to boast.

I think Dean Ambrose needs to go learn how to fight and stop throwing childish punches. He got me angry with his childish approach to Triple H.

Brock Leaner removal is bad. The brothers of destruction also need to be controlled. Their fraud act is getting too much and it need be curb. I don't think this is good for industry.

With the whole Hype, Chris Jericho came , and flopped.
The lunatic (Ambrose) punches can't scare a little baby , just half baked grin

Y2J spent almost all his time resting . grin

Kelvin owen didn't come to win, he only came to fight his enemies. grin grin

At some point, i thought the wyan family got it, because they became more formidable and it took the beast to break the link.

I knew roman would come back after beaten by the league of nations.

The winner should have be someone who came in at the beginning or mid way, not the last guy who barely just got into the ring.
I was happy the fight was during lunch break at work. I had to rush home to watch it and borrow few minutes cool.

The big question is, who is Triple H gonna fight at the wrestlemanian? Is it brock, Y2J, Roman or will cena return from injury to fight

Even sai bahari will not allow that kinda change grin grin

On a serious note, State of origin should your place of birth and that can't change even if you are married to that state.
In my opinion, i think state of origin stuff should be abolished and replaced with state if residency. If you pay taxes to a particular state, you should be able to claim that state as your own.

CareerRe: I Was Part Of Retrenched Staffs In 2 Good Jobs Within One Year 2015. (god Why?) by xp17(m): 11:23pm On Jan 23, 2016
TaymmyT:
My fellow NLz.

I got the 2jobs here in Nairaland!

I got the 1st job in Jan with a gud company where my pay was 120k thereabout, after 5months in may precisely, they retrenched staffs claiming they were outsourcing some functions to an Outsourcing firm, so I ws part of the affected staffs then.

Fortunately for me, I secured anoda job in July and which I was relaxed dat atlast av gotten a reliable job, after which they just came up with a magt decision again dat dey av to retrench staffs to cut cost. Unfortunately, I was also part of the retrenched staffs.

My fellow NLs, what do u think can be the cause of this continous occurrence?

My own personal thought were;
1.May be itz a spiritual cause from some family pple or from all the ladies I have jilted while in school.
2. or rather Nigeria companies job insecurity issues.
3. To be honest throughout these my 2jobs I havn't been Paying Tithe to GOD, this I bliev can be a major reason why God decides to show me. Bcox my believ was removing a whole 12K evry month and give to one pastor as tithe is too much datz why av been refusing 2pay the tithe not knowing it's all for God, but Now I av make vow to God that I will never hesitate to pay my tithe again.

See, am just here @home lying down and thinking seriously I dnt even know what to do anymore with this nigerian companies employment of a tin.

Pls my fellow NL, advice me on what to do to secure a long lasting job, cox av been applying now and goin for various interviews since last week.

In Jesus Name I won't lose a secured job anymore in this 2016.
Pls advice me
Bro, stop thinking traps and hunt the good stuffs. This has nothing to do with your tithe or spirituality, it's just the economical status quo of Nigeria . Many Americans lost their homes and jobs also during the 2008 economy meltdown. Could that also be spiritual?

Am not saying you shouldn't pay your tithe though.

Sometimes I just hate being smart. Being smart, getting A's in school will make you top your class and later provide you with a decent to very lucrative job that's just going to assure your future. You won't be poor and you'll live a comfortable life. But sometimes, I just can't help but wonder at how boring and mundane everything eventually becomes. sad sad angry

On the other hand, not getting all the A's and not topping your class will throw you out there, challenge you to dream big and force you to come up with a living that could probably break bounds, making you into a household name. Linda Ikeji, Toke Makinwa, Folorunsho Alakija, Oprah, these are people who certainly didn't get the best grades in school or studied the best courses at university, yet they shape and influence the polity more than the best graduating student in Electrical Engineering from the set 1985 in Unilag would ever do. And who's that best graduating student anways? I bet no one knows today! sad sad

I so hate being smart! I wish I was a regular one that would have had to create something for herself. sad angry
The bolded clearly indicates you're not smart enough as you claim. Not until you stop bossing anyone and getting directives from em, you're just a regular person. You think deriving runge kutta equation or solving quantum mechanics that some other dude already worked hard for is smartness? I can as well go to the textbooks to copy them with ease, you know? My dear you need more than A's and a lucrative job. All you did here was narrowing everything to academic lane, just like a carpenter who sees every problem as a nail.

You being the black sheep of your family is smartness? grin What planet are you from? grin Aunty, that is not smartness, its probably because other members of the family are lowballs or lazy enough to depend on you. No disrespect, Stop deceiving yourself.

In your statement, oprah Winfrey was not smart, yet able to shape and influence the polity. If that is not being

PoliticsYou have to give it up by xp17(op):
Once upon a time in a faraway land, there lived a Chinese wise man and his disciple. One day in their travels, they saw a hut in the distance. As they approached they realized that it was occupied in spite of its extremely poor appearance.

In that desolate place where there were no crops and no trees, a man lived with his wife, three young children and a thin, tired cow. Since they were hungry and thirsty, the wise man and his disciple stopped for a few hours and were well received.

At one point, the wise man asked: “This is a very poor place, far away from anything. How do you survive?”

“You see that cow? That’s what keeps us going,” said the head of the family. “She gives us milk, some of it we drink and some were make into cheese. When there is extra, we go into the city and exchange the milk and cheese for other types of food. That’s how we survive.”

The wise man thanked them for their hospitality and left. When he reached the first bend in the road, he said to his disciple: “Go back, get the cow, take her to the cliff in front of us, and push her off.”

The disciple could not believe what he was hearing. “I cannot do that, master! How can you be so ungrateful? The cow is all they have. If I push it off the cliff, they’ll have no way to survive. Without the cow, they’ll all die!”

The wise man, an elderly Chinese man, took a deep breath and repeated the order: “Go ahead. Push the cow off the cliff.” Though outraged at what he was being asked to do, the student was resigned to obey his master.

He returned to the hut and quietly led the animal to the edge of the cliff and pushed. The cow fell down the cliff and died.

As the years passed by, remorse for what he had done never left the disciple. One spring day, the guilt became too much to bear and he left the wise man and returned to that little shack. He wanted to find out what had happened to that family, to help them out, apologize, or somehow make amends.

Upon rounding a turn in the road, he could not believe what his eyes were showing him. In place of the poor shack there was a beautiful house with trees all around, a swimming pool, several cars in the garage, a satellite dish, and on and on.

Three good-looking teenagers and their parents were celebrating.

The heart of the disciple froze. What could have happened to the family? Without a doubt, they must have been starving to death and forced to sell their land and leave.

At that moment, the student thought they must all be begging on the street corners of some city. He approached the house and asked a man that was passing by about the whereabouts of the family that had lived there several years before. “You’re looking at it,” said the man, pointing to the people gathered around the barbecue.

Unable to believe what he was hearing, the disciple walked through the gate and took a few steps closer to the pool where he recognized the man from several years before, only now he was strong and confident, the woman was happy, and the children were now nice-looking teenagers.

He was dumbfounded, and went over to the man and asked: “What happened? I was here with my teacher a few years ago and this was a miserable place.

There was nothing. What did you do to improve your lives in such a short time?”

The man looked at the disciple, and replied with a smile: “We had a cow that kept us alive. She was all we had. But one day she fell down the cliff and died. To survive, we had to start doing other things, develop skills we didn’t even know we had.

And so, because we were forced to come up with new ways of doing things, we are now much better off than before.”

Moral of the story: Sometimes our dependency on something small and limited is the biggest obstacle to our growth. Perhaps the best thing that could happen to you is to push your “cow” off the cliff. Once you free yourself of the thought “it’s little but it’s certain,” or of that idea “I am not doing great but there are people who are much worse than me” — then your life will really change.

Is there a cow in your life that is keeping you miserable?
