Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) was in Owerri, Imo state recently for a familiarization visit to Customs Area Commands in Zone 'C'. The Customs boss flew in the NCS Air Border Patrol (Cessna CJ4 Surveillance Aircraft) after meeting with governor Ugwuanyi in Enugu state.

Officers of Oyo/Osun Command of Nigeria Customs Service recently intercepted 4 Trucks fully loaded with Bags of Rice and Jerrycans of vegetable oil concealed with cattle on planks in order to evade payment of Customs duty and circumvent the Law. The seizures were made along Iseyin-Ibadan road, Saki-Ago-are axis, Saki-Iseyin road and Saki-Oyo road.

A Special thanksgiving service was held today to mark the 55th birthday celebration of Ekiti governor Ayo Fayose..... The service which saw lots of government officials, traditional rulers and other functionaries gather was held at Lady Jibowu Hall of the state government house.

This picture which has caused quite some online debate about its authenticity features former president Goodluck Jonathan (middle) who was "floored" in heights by two giants as he posed for a picture with them in the US... Former Vice President -Atiku Abubakar at the 10th annual founder's day of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) which was held today in Adamawa state.. The ceremony also saw the vp's wife -Hajiya Amina Titi Abubakar, Prof Margee Ensign, Mr. Akin Kekere-Ekun, and others gather.

She's an Ekiti indigene, her name is Tayo Abiodun, she was on her way from an outing last Saturday when she ran into Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose who was at the King's market to supervise the demolition of the old market. Tayo manoeuvred her way and made sure she got the Governor's attention, the Governor asked her what she wanted and she said a wheelchair, the Governor subsequently collected her phone number.

On Monday, Tayo got a call this morning to come to the governor's office, she came around and met with the Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Special Duties, Mr. Ayo Alabi who presented to her a brand new wheelchair on behalf of the state government. Ayo Alabi in his reaction to questions from newsmen described the gesture as a tip of the iceberg going by the goodies the governor has in stock for people of the state. He added that the people should get set for another set of largess as the governor will soonest be meeting with widows, women and youths for another round of empowerment.

Tayo Abiodun prayed that the Lord continue to protect the family of the governor as well as the success of his administration while expressing her gratitude. "I have moved north and south looking for helpers to no avail, my family has tried in vain to buy me this chair, but here I am with it today, just like that, I can't count how many times I have fallen from the old chair, I thank the governor for listening to me, for meeting my need, may God continue to help Ayo Fayose."

Acting on complaints of incessant robbery attack on commuters and motorists in traffic around Bourdilion in Ikoyi, operatives of the RRS laid ambush in the area. On November 7, 2015, this led to the arrest of three suspects alleged to be members of a robbery syndicate terrorizing axis, while others escaped. Different weapons, which included four cutlasses, axes and iron rod, were recovered from their hideouts when police searched the area.

The suspects are, Joseph Edem, 24, Jamilu Musa, 29 and Gambo Yunusa ,30, were arrested yesterday, where they were perfecting plans for the day ' s operations. Jamilu Musa claimed that he was not one of the robbers, but confessed that he knows Joseph Edema as a member of the 15 member-robbery syndicate.

The RRS Commander, ACP Olatunji Disu, noted that policemen are complementing and re-launching a massive aggression to all criminal hideouts in the state. And these operations have since yielded positive results as many in-traffic robbers had been rounded up.

According to online reports, this pro-Biafra supporter was allegedly shot by Nigerian Police at Fauks road by Osusu in Aba, Abia state during the massive protest held yesterday for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Radio Biafra boss who has been in detention since his arrest. The bullet got him on the mouth as seen in the pictures...

He was rushed to St Theresa Hospital in Aba where he received treatment....This just comes after another pro-Biafra supporter was shot dead by policemen in Onitsha, Anambra state on Friday.....

Tragedy struck this morning at Orisha, Isheri-Magodo, Ojodu after a mudslide from a hill slipped into a 3 bedroom bungalow building causing partial collapse of building -trapping 4 children of same father.

Three children from one mother namely Sylva Odiah 23; Sayo Odiah15; Clinton Odiah11 and Endurance Odiah 8 years were recovered dead. The mum sustained minor injury and was rushed to Yaba General Hospital for treatment. The eldest wife, Felicia Odiah had minor bruises and was given First Aid treatment.
