Pictured are numerous weapons and ammunition recovered from criminals in different parts of Rivers state in the year 2015. They were paraded by the state commissioner of police, Musa Kimo at the police headquarters, Moscow road, Port-Harcourt.

The new official regalia of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) men was also unveiled. The rebranded uniform is an idea conceived, executed and was recently launched by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon E. Arase, purposely for it to be in tune with nature of the squad’s job and to eradicate complaints of mistaken identity.

This fatal accident involving two trailers occurred this morning at Tollgate Ota along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway. The crash has caused heavy traffic gridlock due to the obstruction on the road. The number of casualties are yet to be ascertained. FRSC officials are making efforts to clear the obstructions and ensure free flow of traffic.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) has charged members of the new Management of Nigeria Customs Service to re-dedicate themselves to hardwork and commitment to nation building through efficient and effective service delivery.

The CGC gave this charge after the decoration of 14 new members of management at the Customs headquarters. While congratulating them, he expressed happiness that the newly decorated officers were appointed purely based on merit devoid of lobbying and any external influence.

The ceremony which marked formal constitution of a new management for the Service, brought on board 6 Deputy Comptrollers-General namely: Suleiman Idris, Ukaigwe Paul, Umar Iya, Ugo Daniel, Warikoru Austin and Adeyemo Grace. Also decorated were eight Assistant Comptrollers-General following a restructuring process that led to the retirement of some members of the former management.

It would have been a different story for a man and his family who were almost affected by their generator set after it caught fire yesterday in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state. According to the man who shared the photos on Facebook, he and his family were having dinner.. all of a sudden the generator went off, only for them to see it on fire on getting there. Assuming they stayed in the house few minutes longer, it would have been a very sad tale.

These fraudsters (419 syndicate) were just caught few minutes ago at First Bank, Factory road in Aba, Abia state. The suspects were allegedly trying to swindle a woman of her hard earned money after coming out from the bank. They were apprehended by people in the area and are waiting for the police to arrive.

Governor Samuel Ortom today visited victims of an accident involving members of NKST Church Achusa, in Makurdi, who were being conveyed in a truck to Anber, in Katsina-Ala for an annual function of the Church. The victims who are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Apir, Benue state -were consoled by the governor who took care of their medical bills and directed that the sum of N500,000 be deposited for the treatment of the accident victims..

These are photos from the mayhem unleashed by political thugs earlier this month in Zuru, Kebbi state. The people of the area were attacked by weapon-wielding hoodlums during a peaceful protest held against the Social Media Bill. The thugs destroyed properties and damaged cars they could lay their hands on. They have been arrested by the state police and have been ordered to repair the damaged vehicles immediately. The hoodlums have been also slammed with charges for various offences.
