Family / Re: 'I Moved Out Of My Parents House Because Of My Mum" - Lady by Xtfield(m): 1:39pm On Mar 04, 2018
CastedAyo:
A Nigerian lady shared the reason why she left her parents home. According to her, she constantly gets into fights with her because she's consistently reminding her how her mates are married, and she's still in their house.

She said she doesn't have a problem with her father because he didn't disturb her, but she is uncomfortable living in the house because of his mother, so she decided to rent her own apartment.

As seen of The Human of Abuja page;
"I moved out of my parent's house last month because I was always getting into fights with my mother. She was always reminding me day and night about how most of my mates are married and I was still in the house. Always comparing me with her friends' daughters that are married. It got to a point where the house because very uncomfortable for me. Day and night that's all she talked about.

My dad doesn't have any issues with my being unmarried. I am not the only unmarried 26 year old, but my mother always made it seem so. I decided to rent my own apartment in order to regain my peace of mind. My family house is here in Abuja and I rented a house here too. I think giving them some space is just the best decision."

https://www.torimill.com/2018/03/i-moved-out-of-my-parents-house-because-my-mum-always-remind-me-my-mates-are-married-lady.html

My dear, you did the right thing. Most Nigerian mothers are like that. They worry too much. Some because of worry and anxiety have pushed their children into bad and regrettable marriages. Marriage is desirable, but you must be carefully not to agree to marry just any man because of your mum or any other person. Pray and rest on God. He will settle you down in his own time. I know you will soon share your marriage testimony on this same platform. Remain blessed in Jesus name.

Looking thru your posts on here, you seem to be a matured responsible fellow, if it has been one of dis indomie generation kids, i wouldnt have even replied. So i should go n buy textbook because i need list of topics. Can you see you are not reasoning properly? The conditions warranting my coming here to ask, you don't know nor did you bother to ask questions... all you can do is to open mouth utter rubbish advice grin, that i asked for scheme doesn't mean i don't have textbook, i just don't want to teach what isn't "relevant"
at this stage of his studies. Thank God more reasonable people have long answered my questions as you would have noticed while reading this thread.
Have a beautiful sunday grin grin wink shocked
I am honestly shocked by this response. I did not mean any insult. I was only trying to help. But seeing that you misunderstood my contribution, I sincerely apologize. You needed the SS2 scheme. To me downloading the waec syllabus will not completely solve the problem because the syllabus is not broken into classes. But a book written on the subject is written by experts who have taken time to break the syllabus down into classes and sometimes terminal topics. That was why I suggested you get a textbook meant for Ss2. I did not in any way imply that you do not have any book on the subject. I've been on for long, if you go through all my posts, you will never find me insulting anyone. Once again I apologize for hurting your feelings even if it was inadvertently done. Thank you.

It's insane bro. But can't you find a job outside of your environment? I'm sure you will get better jobs
The problem with many of these guys is that they are glued to their comfort zone. Must you work where you are currently based? Many schools in other cities need your service but you stay glued to your present abode for fear of the unknown and probably because you want to enjoy the free accommodation and feeding that comes with living with your parents.

Computers / Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Xtfield(m): 4:30am On Feb 02, 2018
Hello House, I need some expert advice on my soalr inverter set up. I have two 150ah batteries, 850w innova inverter(bought in 2010), 4units 130w solar panels and a 30a Mppt solar charge controller. I recently bought a battery charger to hasten the charge rate. I am not connected to public power supply at all so I depend on my 9.5Kva gen and the sun to charge my batteries. However I discovered that when my generator is on, (I use the gen to service my borehole, launder and iron clothes), and I connect the battery charger, the percentage on the charge controller leaps forward by as much as 10% . However when the battery charge indicator begins to flash at 99%, I disconnect the battery charger. But once I do this, the percentage drops to about 70%. Is this normal or is something wrong with my batteries? The batteries are barely 3 months old.

Secondly is it right to use an external battery charger with the inverter(I use to think inverters have chargers already) combined with the solar panels? Am I not overcharging the batteries?

Should I decide to charge my batteries with only solar, are my 4 units of 130w panels (520w total) enough? If no, what capacity of panels will effectively charge my two batteries to 100% in 6hours. Please note that the batteries are connected parallel (12v)

Thank you for your help

CastedDude:
A gallant police officer identified as Oluwa Oscar Lam, has revealed how proud he is to be working in the Nigerian Police Force. The policeman who lives and works in Lagos - took to Facebook to share the below words as he compared himself with an "ordinary" civilian. Read below;

I am a proud POLICE OFFICER

They Have University, We Have Training College.

They Have Vice Chancellor, We Have Commandant.

They Have Lecturers, We Have Instructors.

Their Day Starts by 0700hrs, but Ours by 0400hrs.

They Wake up 0600hrs, We Jump up 0300hrs.

They Shake Hands, We Salute.

They Wear Gucci, We Wear Carmo/Khaki.

They Keep Their Hairs, We Cut Off Our Hairs.

They Wake Up, We Jump Up.

They walk, We Double In Divisions.

They Have Students, We Have Cadets/Recruits.

They Have Dining Halls, We Have Mess.

They Go On Break, We Go On Pass.

They Have Conference Hall, We Have Parade Ground.

To Them Nigeria Flag Stays up For 24/7, To Us We Have Colour And Sunset.

They Have Graduation Party, We Have Passing Out Parade.

To Them Injury Is For One And One Only Whilst To Us Injury For One Injury For All.

They Get Short Term Light Drills Only In Their NYSC, Whilst Rigorous Drills Is Our Everyday Blood Tonic.

They Are School Colleagues, We Are Brothers.

They Have Civilian Blood, We Have MOPOL Blood.

They Demand For Respect, We Command Respect.

I took this job knowing I may never get rich,

I've missed out so many holidays, church services and special occasions in order to protect lives,

I'm expected to work miracles and do things other people are scared to do and even save lives.

It has been proven that my life expectancy is shorter than yours because of the stress I go through and the sickness I get exposed to, and yet there are no hero movies about us.

I must give my life everyday for people I dont know, have never met before and even those who dont like me.

When my family is home suffering alone I'm out here in the cold, dangerous situations all in the name of protecting property and saving life.

I am a warrior who gave oath to die for my people!

I am a POLICE OFFICER

Happy new year to you all.

Hello house. I need some advice please. I have a. Seth that comprises of 300ah (150x 2) batteries and 4 panels (130w x 4) totalling 520 watts. My question is, are the 4 panels enough to fully charge my batteries. If no, how many more do I require? Thank you.

2x150w panel can't charge your 200ah properly
U need like 600w upwards
It's cheaper to increase the panels. At least you will be sure of what you are paying for. Tell whoever offers you this so-called solar generator to open it so yo can see the inside and I assure you they wont because they know the substandard parts they packed inside.
Technology Market / Re: ... by Xtfield(m): 9:56pm On Jan 01, 2018
I beg run for this kind solar generator o. I bought one and found its not worth it. It's just packaged nonsense. I had to dismantle it, and only the battery and the panels were useful. The inverter enclosed in it was more of a toy. Rather than buy this contraption, build your solar generator yourself:

2 x 100ah battery - 80,000
2kva sukam solar inverter (not power inverter) - 80000
2x150ah solar panels - 50,000
1 charge controller 30ah - 20, 000
Total - N230000
Cables and miscelleneous - 20,000

For the same 250k, you get a more dependable and powerful system.

I am not trying to spoil business for the op but Nairaland is one family and sharing our experiences will save others the hassles and frustrations with some of these Chinese products.

Good day nairalanders,
I need an advise from any lawyer in the house. I got a new job and was a given a letter of employment by the HR personnel of the company. I told the HR personnel that I have to give one month notice to my current employer then but she insisted on 3weeks. I agreed with the 3 weeks and sent my letter of resignation giving 3 weeks ahead as my last day with my current employer then. After about a week the HR personnel told me that the company cannot pay me the agreed amount, I told her that I have dropped my resignation letter and there is nothing I can do about it at that point in time.
On the resumption date stated in my letter of employment, I went to the HR personnel and to my greatest surprise she acted as if we have not met before, I had to introduce myself.
She requested for my resignation letter because she was insisting that I might have not resigned when she told me about the salary. Meanwhile, I sent my resignation letter as an attachment through my official email with my previous employer. I provided the copy of the letter and she insisted to get mail itself that I attached the letter. I was not able to get that since I no longer have access to the email.
We dragged this issue for a long time till she admitted that the vacancy no longer exists. I am now jobless for a month now.
I intend to write to my previous employer to confirm that they received resignation letter on the date I sent it to them. Finally, I intend to sue the company for a breach of contract, Please advise if I have a chance to win the case. Thanks for your responses.
Why are you shielding the 419 company? Come out with their name, and address. Wage a serious social media war against them. Let the whole world know how evil they are.

ashjay001:

What I wonder is; how come he served for so long, '66-'75, yet nothing memorable has been referred to during his reign? If he was this humble n visionary, during his reign, how come nigeria didnt take giant strides towards developmental progress?
This is a very unfair comment on this great leader of Nigeria and I guess like someone commented here, some of this misinformation is due to the scrapping of history from our school curriculum. To set the records straight, Gowon only ruled for five years (January 13 1970 to July 29 1975) having spent the first four years fighting the Biafran rebellion. Most of the road networks that criss cross the nation today were constructed under his régime. The fact that some of those roads are just being reconstructed is a testimony of the very good work that was done on them. In the educational sector, the Federal Unity Schools were introduced under his administration, several Federal universities were not only built but were well funded - Uniport, Unical, Unijos, Unilorin, Unimaid, BUK, Unisokoto etc. Under his administration unlike other military rulers after him, students were well cared for. The UPE - Universal Primary Education was the brain child of his administration. His administration established the students loans board where indigent students in higher institutions could take loans to complete their studies. Scholarships to study in foreign universities were granted in their hundreds. So good were our universities under Gowon that foreigners came to Nigeria to study, by foreigners, I do not mean just Africans but Europeans, Americans, Asia etc. Gowon, to ensure national unity after the civil war established the NYSC scheme. The scheme is still operational till today. Besides it is to his credit that that two years after the civil war, Nigeria hosted the 2nd All African Games where Nigeria topped the medals table. Besides, the now dilapidated National Stadium in Lagos was built under his administration. These are just a few of his accomplishments that I can remember. I sincerely believe that Gowon ( Go On With One Nigeria) was a great leader. Unfortunately, the love for the grandeur of office coupled with bad advice from those close to him did not allow him to know when to quit the stage. He was so popular and loved that for nine years, no attempt was made to topple him. No military ruler after him enjoyed such acceptability amongst the rank and file of the armed forces and the Nigerian populace.
