cyan2008:Jesus was targeted but the devil could not pin any sin on him. Nothing special in a child or man of God being targeted. It is the duty of men of God to live above sin. And should they fall into sin, they should own up publicly and not try to brow beat their accusers. |

Will only work for one year. You will scream at the number of GCE candidates in September. Even JS 3 candidates will try it. Most Ss3 students will now pass GCE in SS 1 courtesy Miracle centres. |

This people that are gladly and patiently receiving cane strokes even for doing nothing but will take up arms if their children are flogged by school teachers for breaking school rules. |
ylaa:Better than no confession at all. At least she is better than those who killed Dele Giwa, Bola ige. Funso Williams etc who have refused to admit their crimes but continue to bestride our political landscape pretending to be saints. Once we tell a lie in this parts, we will never change our stand even in the face of overwhelming evidence. There is never any admission of guilt. It's such a big shame. |
A very intelligent man has spoken but unfortunately he was addressing an unintelligent audience. A generation that was spoon fed through Nursery, primary, secondary schools and university. How will they suddenly be weaned from the same feeding bottle? They cannot comprehend the fact that the world has moved away from the days of their fathers when a region in Nigeria produced only 5 graduates and so were assured of automatic employment and a car to go with it! I pity Nigerian Youths! I would rather talk to a wall than address them. A generation that would rather spend hundreds of thousand to buy the latest phone but will cause a riot because university tuition has been increased to 50000 Naira! Bash Fayemi as much as you like, but he has spoken the truth. |
She did not die because the hospital did not treat her. She died because of negligence. Malaria can only kill if not promptly treated. She must have been rushed to the hospital at the point of death. Young people should take health issues very serious the same way they take issues affecting their looks seriously. What a waste. My heart goes out to her parents. |
Please according to the relevant sections of the law, the EFCC can not help you as the crime occured outside their legal jurisdiction. I suggest you report to TWITTER POLICE since the offence was committed on Twitter. |
I want to believe that all Nairalanders are in for a season of FREE PUEL courtesy of our own SEUN who I perceive to be the owner of this Oil & Gas Company. I came across this filling station on Saturday. It is located along Ijebu-Ode - Sagamu Expressway. Seun should please confirm if Nairalanders can go there for free fuel. Our monikers can be our ID. Those in support shout AY!

This will continue to happen until our drivers learn to be patient on our roads. Accidents do not happen, they are caused. Road accidents cause more deaths in Nigeria than malaria, HIV, diabetes and cancer all put together. If you are a driver, exercise a lot of restraint on the road so you do not end up killing yourself and other people. |
I did not see any money. I only saw Naira. Is Naira money? The man should have saved the ushers the stress of sweeping the so called money by changing it to dollars, pounds and euros. |
GMBuhari:Go near a burning petrol tanker and filling station to sympathize? I will only do that when the fire has been put out. I was in my vehicle about 100 meters to the station when the fire started. I joined other drivers in doing a quick UTurn. I typed from a safe distance. Thank God I did that because not long after, the tanker exploded and stream of fire began to flow towards my initial position. Well I did not wait to take pictures. I'm back in the comfort of my home. Front page? How much does Seun pay for that. Only immature Nlders gloat over that and I'm not one. |
As I type this a filling station is on fire at Ijigbo roundabout in Ado Ekiti. Details and pics later |
This is one thing I like about our Igbo people. They are never ashamed of any work. I pray God bless this young man and make him great. And before anyone thinks I am Ibo, I am not. I am a Yoruba true Omo Oduduwa tokantokan. |
They should have asked the man to swear first that he will not sleep with another woman except the wife! |
Hello Folks. I need expert advice. I run a school and I am very keen on introducing my pupils/students to a variety of sports. Unfortunately I have not been able to secure the services of a Physical & Health Education professional. But I have refused to give up. So far, I have introduced Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Dart and Badminton that is apart from Football. Now, I'm thinking of introducing Handball. My challenge now is how to get the handball ball. I've googled handball and it seems its the same ball that is used for Volleyball and Handball. Please anyone knowledgeable in this field should help me out. Is it the same ball? If they are different balls please be kind enough to educate me. Thank you. |
stobery:We will buy it even if it is costlier than the imported one. That is the way to encourage local production, diversify our economy and end recession. Great Uites! |
I graduated at 20 (1982), married at 22 (1984) and had the last of my four children at 39 (2001). Now at an age when many of my mates are still struggling to train their children in secondary schools, mine have all graduated except the youngest. Early marriage has its own advantages. |
I pray all those supporting the man holding to another person's money will one day find themselves in the OP's shoes and perhaps a bigger sum of money will be involved. When that happens, they will know what it means to make a mistake. I've been a victim in the past on a smaller level. I was trying to buy airtime online through my first bank mobile account when I entered a wrong GSM number. When I realised the error, I called the owner of the line. He admitted seeing the 1000 Naira credit but said he only had 500 on him. He eventually sent 500 recharge card to me out of which only 400 went through. I did not feel happy at all. It is not good to capitalise on other people's mistakes to enrich ourselves. Whatever does not belong to you can never make you rich. It will only bring a curse on you. You may gain 28000 today and in a year's time run into a trouble that will claim 280,000 Naira from you. If I were the other man, I will refund the entire money. That is Godliness. And Godliness with contentment is great gain. |
yetseyi:Teaching can be a very thankless job. You discipline the children, parents will arreest you. On the other hand, you let them do as they please and they fail, the same parents will blame you and most school owners will sack teachers when their students fail as if it is the responsibility of the teacher to make the children pass. The teachers responsibility is to teach and guide the children. But how do you do that when the student does not want to be taught or guided? Besides, why do parents enjoy pulling out their children from school to attend burials, weddings and otjher ceremonies. I remember when I was a Lagos as head of a school, a parent approached me that he wanted to go to the village to bury his late father but wanted to withdraw the 11 year old son from the hostel to go with them even when examinations were just two weeks away. I refused to release the boy. I told him to go bury his father and let me prepare the son to become a big man who will give him a befitting burial when he grows old and joins his ancestors. Onyinye left school for a burial, what a waste of time for an SS 3 student who is scheduled to write WASSCE and NECO SSCE in a few months!. However all these do not justify Mr. Adesina's actions. |
Keneking:I think you are wrong on one point. The proprietor has done nothing wrong to deserve a prison sentence. He did the right thing by suspending the offending teacher indefinitely. That was enough protective action from the proprietor. The teacher lost his job. Onyinye and his siblings or thugs as claimed by the school should have been contented with that. I guess they too over reacted the same way the teacher over reacted. If the proprietor had invited the police when they invaded the school, they too would have been in court for conduct likely to breach the peace. It is not good that they took laws into their hands in an attempt to avenge a wrong to their sibling. Two wrongs do not make a right. When an issue occurs between a child and his teacher, the appropriate authorities should be allowed to take action. It is when no action or serious action is taken that other steps which does not include self help can be defensible. But one thing I have always noticed about our Igbo brethren is their knack for unnecessary power show at the slightest provocation. I do not know, it may be due to the raw strength that comes from akpu, their staple food. I am not being tribalistic. I eat akpu myself even though I am proudly Yoruba. I think we should all learn to calm down when a bad situation happens and handle situations in a way that will not teach young folks like Onyinye that jungle justice is the best. I sympathize with the proprietor of that wonderful school. I was the Guest Speaker at their graduation a few years back. Such a good school in the news for this kind of thing. A great pity. |

Everything in this country is bad run. Our schools are badly run, our hospitals are badly run, our sports is badly run, our transport system is badly run, our police is badly run, our ministries are badly run, I can go on and on. So why do we think the case pof our refineries will be different? Someone suggested employing young people and sending them to India for training like Dagote did. That can only work for Dangote because Dangote does not have to consider Federal Character when employing his workers. He also does not have to contend with any godfather if he has to sack anyone that proves incompetent or disloyal. These are the real issues with government businesses. I run my own private school. I have the power to hire and fire so my workers work very hard to get good result. Bottom line is that government has no business with business. Government should allow private individuals do business. |
