SWISS SKILLS SHORTAGE INDEX Q4 2017 – Q3 2018

Zurich, 20 November 2018 – In 2018, a slight increase in the skills shortage was observed throughout Switzerland and across all occupational groups. This was confirmed by the Skills Shortage Index compiled by The Adecco Group Switzerland in collaboration with the Swiss Job Market Monitor from the University of Zurich. However, clear differences can be seen between different job groups. Whereas some are suffering from a skills shortage, other occupations have a surplus of available specialists.

So, to answer your question, Nigerian students won't need to set up a blocked Bank Account in other to apply for visa to Switzerland.

Hope this helps?

Dayzzy:
Hi guys, thanks for the previous responses. I want to apply for masters (architecture) in Switzerland and right now the biggest challenge seems to be the blocked account amount because honestly, i can gather that much (8 mil). However, before now, i always had my mind on Germany (TU Munich) but due to my desire to study in one of the QS10 rankings, i decided to try ETH Zurich, the cheapest among the rest. so my question is, will a letter from a swiss citizen suffice (as in Germany's requirements) or it really has to be a blocked account parole?.

Also, how easy is it to have a fully funded scholarship to pursue masters degree in swiz, especially ETH ZURICH ? . Thanks all.

Greetings to all the great members of this thread.

Am looking at applying for a Masters admission to few universities in Belgium and I would love to find out from all experience and successful members if the IELTS result is a compulsory factor when applying for admission or can the be waived for international applicants from Nigeria.

Also if it is compulsory, did you guys write the academic IELTS?

my apologies in advance if my question have been previously asked or if it did offend anyone. I would appreciate you kind response.

Thanks

Sir, i don't think the 2 months rule is correct. I was denied in Lagos on the 21st. I paid that same day and i was able to see available dates around midnight the 22nd.

The earliest date for the Lagos Consulate was January 15. I checked for Abuja and got November 27th. Infact it was the last slot.

It's always a "friend" grin
Meanwhile, it is possible to have it changed but I wouldn't encourage that as the process can be complicated. I'd advice you(your friend grin ) to honour the terms of your B1/B2 visa and come back home to apply to an Student's visa. Don't worry about being rejected, you won't.

TravelRe: Offer Of Advice For Interest In Studying In Czech by xtus(m): 11:11pm On Oct 26, 2016
Hello everyone,

I must say that with only 10 pages on this thread the amount of information it contain is mind blowing, I think each and everyone are doing a great job sharing information both for guys in Czach and our brothers in Nigeria. I would like to suggest if those people who have gone or will be going for their visa interview at the Czech embassy can be sharing more information on what they were asked so other can learn and be well prepare in regards to that aspect. More insight need to be share about the legalization process as well as life in Czech in Nigeria.

Thanks once again and keep the dream alive and strong. Good luck everyone!!!!
