Prince Abubakar Audu (APC) all the way. |
Attack the issues not the writer. I expect u to provide superior arguments (if any) not all this baseless criticisms. |
It is no longer news the fact that today Saturday 21st November, 2015 remains a historic day in the annals of our political history as eligible voter from the state come out en mass to elect a new Governor for our dear state. Over 22 aspirants are jostling for the plum job with the Incumbent Governor, Capt Idris Wada (PDP), a Former Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu (APC) and the Immediate past Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Philip Salawu (LP) as top contenders. The citizens are presented with a choice of either to reelect the incumbent Governor Wada whose administration supervised the dilapidation of basic infrastructures, collapse of local government system and institutionalized corruption and impunity or elect a former Governor Prince Abubakar Audu whose administration's giant strides in various sectors of the state has not been surpassed by all his successors. At this juncture I will like to provide some hard facts about this two political dramatis personae that will help make inform judgement and decision. Gov Wada committed Kogi state scarce resources into projects whose viability are in doubt; Construction of 11 storey Kogi House Abuja when infrastructural facilities in the state capital Lokoja are in shambles; Construction of Cement Factory Itobe when Obajana Cement Factory has rendered virtually all her existing competitors useless. How will one justify the establishment of a Cassava Processing Plant at the Governor's hometown Odu which cannot even generate funds sufficient to pay it's staff salaries? The Governor introduced half salary thereby aggravating poverty and unemployment, converted the local governments to his personal estate where he appoint his stooges as SSAs in complete disregard to the Court of Appeal judgement reinstating the 21 dully elected Local Government Chairmen in the State. Prince Abubakar Audu or the Prince of the Niger as he is fondly called by his very many admirers is revered for his developmental strides during his previous administrations in the state. The APC standard bearer established all the states owned tertiary institutions, the Confluence Beach Hotel, Kogi Radio, Graphic Newspaper, Several Housing Estates at Lokoja, Massive Road Construction, Pipe Borne Water, Rural electrification projects across the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State etc. In fact the Kogi Diagnostic and Reference Hospital at the Incumbent Governor's second home town Anyigba was Prince Abubakar Audu's handiwork. I enjoin all my fellow Kogites to come out en mass to exercise their franchise and shun all violent conduct before, during and after the election. Do not trade your conscience for peanuts! I am equally calling on the INEC, NGOs, Traditional Rulers, Police and other security agencies to create an enabling environment that will allow for the conduct of a free, fair and credible election in the state. # VoteDontFight! Long Live Kogi State. Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria. Comrade Mutari Yakubu (Optimist) is an Accountant and Socio-Political Commentator.

Where are the Biafra e-rats? |
Prince Abubakar Audu (APC) will win considering the overwhelming support he enjoy from 2 out of the 3 senatorial districts in the state. The EFCC case is just a ploy used by the PDP to damage his reputation. The case is fast becoming a seasonal event that is only remembered during elections and also the fact that no judge has been able to deliver judgement on the case for over 12years that he left office speaks volumes. Mind u none of his successors has been able to surpass his achievements hence our collective resolve to give him another mandate. APC - Change! |

May his soul rest in peace. My condolence goes to the families and friends of the deceased. While we all expect the government to provide good drainage system on our roads we all owe it as a duty that we dont engage in indiscriminate dumping of refuse to forestall this kind of incidence. |
Congratulations guys. Keep it up! |
Edunwa302:Are u surprised? Dat is what you get when the outgoing Governor singlehandedly choose his successor. |
This is the kind of initiative I expected from a vibrant and articulate President not 5k for the unemployed graduates. Great move, PMB. |
Congratulations, Jagaban |
He is only displaying high class ignorance. To the best of my knowledge the 5000 stipend for unemployed youths is not in the 2015 budget so hoqw did he expect PMB to make the payment? Considering the economic situation in the country and the dwindling oil revenue it is illogical for anyone to expect PMB to commence the payment of the said stipend when over 27 out of the 36 states of the federation cannot even pay workers salary. #WailingWailers. |
What PMB is saying is that it makes no economic sense having 36 substantive ministers when u want to reduce the cost of governance therefore we are going to have a situation whereby some of the nominees will serve as Minister of State especially in Grade A ministries. |
No wonder they are agitating for Biafra. |
Mourinho must go
