The problem with Nigerians is that they will rather vote for sentiment and tribe rather than ability and honesty. Let them reap the fruit of their labor. like developers votes for tribe in 2023 presidential election, very unfortunate people. |

Politics › Re: Why Are Yorubas (okun) Not Allowed To Rule In Kogi State? by yarimo(m): 12:15pm On Nov 15, 2023 |
Nobody is stopping anyone from contesting, election is a matter of majority of votes cast. SOSinNigeria: Something funny is happening in Kogi state. This state has three major ethnic groups i.e. Ebiras, Igalas and Okuns (Yorubas). But sadly, since the creation of the state, only the Igalas and Ebiras have been ruling back to back. No Okun/Yoruba has ever ruled Kogi state since its creation.
In Delta State, there are three major ethnic groups i.e. Urhobos, Anioma/Igbos and Itshekiri. All of them have ruled accordingly. In Rivers State, both the Igboid upland areas and the Ijoid riverine areas have ruled.
So, why is Kogi state different? Even Dino Melaye, an Okun man who contested under PDP was disgraced. A major opposition party like PDP performed so woefully that ordinary SDP candidate almost won against APC.
SDP candidate was Igala. APC candidate was Ebira. PDP candidate was Okun/Yoruba.
Yet the contest was between SDP Igala and APC Ebira. Why are the Okuns maltreated in Kogi state? |

gidgiddy: When a Governor clears all 27 LGA's in his State, including that of his opponent, scores over 450,000 votes more than his nearest rival, it means that either of two things happened
1. The people love the Governor beyond belief
Or
2. The Governor rigged the elections beyond belief
The problem is that there are very few Nigerian politicians that Nigerians love beyond belief, if any, and a Governor Uzodimma, who nobody has ever witnessed any public outpouring of love by Imo State people, cannot stand before God today and say Imo people love him
Thats why the only people who celebrated his victory were political appointees such as Cubana high priest But peter obi getting 95% votes in imo state was free and fair? |

RTID: One of my favorite cultures about Igbo men is how if one person in the family makes it in business, he makes sure that every single person in that family becomes an integral part of the business.
The women are sent to school and become managers of the business while the men go on to open other branches of the business to expand the empire.
The Igbo NwaBoy mentorship scheme has lifted many families out of poverty and made many multimillionaires in several families that is why the lowest poverty rate in Nigeria is in the South East.
My own people, when they become successful, most of them will not empower their relatives. In fact, that’s when they will even cut you off as if na you be the witch wey delay their breakthrough at the same time they are |

Politics › Re: Why Exactly Was The FRSC Commander Removed? by yarimo(m): 1:05pm On Nov 14, 2023 |
Op was he sack or redeploy to another place? If he was sack what was the reason ? and if the reason was because of what he said it's wrong in sacking him. If he was removed and redeploy to another place it's constitutional booblacain: I was analyzing the issue of the removal of the FRSC Kwara state Commander, Mr. Frederick Ogidan, and I am wondering what exactly he did wrong.
I understand and agree that one should not criticize an organization or a government that one works for in public. If you want to criticize your employer in public, you should at least resign first; that I agree with to some extent. But I am looking at Mr. Ogidan's case and wondering, did he really criticize the federal government?
The quote below is what he said, as reported by the Daily Trust:
So where exactly in the above statement was criticism made? He simply made a statement that everybody is already aware of, or are they just angry with him for reminding us about it like we have already forgotten? Even the supporters of this government, especially proponents of subsidy removal, all speak of and have spoken about this same subsidy reality. So, what exactly made Mr. Ogidan's comment different? Was there a secular passed among government workers telling them not to say anything at all about subsidy, whether good, bad, or neutral? Was it the way he said it, or was it by whom it was said?
Please, if there is anyone that sees the criticism or something at least wrong in what he said, point it out and correct me. I may have missed it somehow.
I mean, the man even went ahead to say that yes, things are tough now but it will eventually get better. Is that not the same statement that most supporters of this government and even the government itself has been making, so why was this different?
Honestly, I can't understand the federal government's action on this matter. To me, this action says two things: one is that this government is on a mouth-gagging overdrive on its people, and two, the government is too ashamed of its policies, especially on subsidy, that they will allow nobody to talk about them at all.
It's sad. |
