PoliticsDefection: Declare Now Or Forget It, APC Tells S/east Govs by yashau(op): 9:16am On Feb 18, 2017
All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in the South-East yesterday ordered to governors in the zone nursing the ambition to join the ruling party to do so now or forget it.

Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha said at the South East APC leaders meeting held in Enugu that the party would no longer tolerate continued prevarication by some governors from the zone who had indicated interest in joining the party.

Okorocha last week revealed that three governors in the region had approached him to join the APC, but he did not disclose the identities of the governors nor their party.

Giving reasons for asking the governors to join APC now, Okorocha explained that the APC in the four states of the region not occupied by the party cannot wait for these governors again as they have to fill up party positions towards taking over the states.

Okorocha regretted that Igbo did not play the right politics in 2015, which led to the systematic marginalisation of the region in the formation of the government at the centre.

He expressed optimism that with the entrance of political heavyweights in the region into APC, they would now take over the zone, saying that if former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo and former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani were in APC, Enugu State would have since been in their kitty.

Okorocha said that the South-East must join in the singing of the new song of change like its counterparts in the South-West and the North who are now reaping the benefits of their support to the party, saying that the Igbo got only the labour and science and technology ministries because the South-East did not do what they were supposed to do.

“We had nobody with us, we were rejected by all and called Boko Haram, but we were determined to get what is due to our people,” he said.

Explaining why he appointed Senator Ken Nnamani the leader of APC in the South-East at their Owerri meeting, the Imo governor said that he had earlier told Dr Ogbonnaya Onu not to accept ministerial appointment for him to remain at the leadership of the party.

He insisted that they needed a strong voice in the region that the other people would rally round to build the party.
Earlier in his welcome address, the APC National Vice Chairman, South-East, Hon Emma Eneukwu said the party would use the forthcoming Anambra governorship election as a litmus test of their strength in the region, saying that “our journey of taking over the South-East Government Houses must start from Anambra State.”

Eneukwu noted that the Enugu meeting afforded both the new and old members of the party the opportunity of sitting together for the first time to discuss party matters of mutual interest in the zone.

“It affords us the opportunity of collectively saying welcome on board to the ruling party to our distinguished political heavyweights who have now joined forces with us to enthrone government of change in the South-East,” he said.

Some of the party leaders from the zone who attended the meeting are former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo; former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani; Science and Technology Minister, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu; Labour Minister, Dr Chris Ngige; Imo Deputy Governor, Chief Eze Madumere; Senators Ifeanyi Ararume, Osita Izunazo, Uche Ekwunuife, Nkechi Nwaogu, Emma Anosike; and Chief George Moghalu.
Others are former Abia Deputy Governor, Chief Chris Akomas; Chief Ezekiel Izuogu; Chief Gbazueagu Nweke Gbazueagu; Chief Agunwa Anakwe; Enugu APC Chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye; former APC guber candidate in Enugu, Chief Okey Ezea; for Enugu House of Assembly Speaker, Chief Eugene Odoh, among others.

PoliticsLagos Bus Conductors To Wear Uniforms, Name Tags, Badges – BCAN by yashau(op): 4:01pm On Feb 16, 2017
Mr Israel Adeshola, the National President of Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria (BCAN), says that as from March it is mandatory for bus conductors in Lagos state to wear uniforms, name tags and badges.
Adeshola, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday, said that the Lagos State government has approved wearing of uniforms and badges.
He said that the use of badges and wearing of uniforms by over 3,000 bonafide members got the approval of the government on Monday.
*A Lagos bus conductor on the beat.
“We are in collaboration with Lagos state government on the issue of badges and uniforms for commercial conductors, which was finalised on Monday.
“This is because we don’t want to start without the government’s approval. So by first week of March we will roll them out,’’ he said.
Adeshola explained that the introduction of uniforms, name tags and badges had become necessary to enforce decorum and ensure safety of duly registered members and members of the public.
According to him, with the vital information on the badge, any conductor involved in crime can easily be identified and apprehended.
The national president explained that the novel idea was being experimented in Lagos state before other states can take a cue.

It’s important that we forgive ourselves for making mistakes. We need to learn from our errors and move forward. Make a pact with yourself today not to be defined by your past. Sometimes the greatest thing to come out of all your hard work isn’t what you get for it, but what you learn from it. A happy, successful life, after all, is not a life absent of problems, but one that’s been able to rise above them.
thank you thank you again and again well written...

PoliticsWhy Buhari Was Not Invited For Trump’s Inauguration – Fayose by yashau(op):
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described the non-extension of invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari to attend the Donald Trump’s inauguration as a clear signal that the president does not enjoy international relevance any more.
The governor said that the development was a very clear signal that Buhari’s government would not enjoy tangible support from the new US government.
Fayose, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, on Thursday said there is no doubt that Buhari is not in the good books of the incoming US government.
He argued that Buhari’s frequent visit to US during Obama administration and the romance was due to the tacit support given to Buhari by Obama to win the 2015 election with deception.
He said, “With Obama’s role in the emergence of President Buhari, it can be said that he (Obama) is a member of the APC in the diaspora.”
” In an important event like this in US, our president will be missing in action.”
The governor wondered why the same president, who was a regular visitor to the US under Obama, was today not part of the historic inauguration of a new administration.
“No doubt, something is fundamentally wrong because if there is hope of a future relationship between President Buhari and the new US President, they would have been celebrating his inauguration and would not have allowed Nigerians to hear any other news apart from Buhari going to America.
“Obviously, Buhari’s junketing to US that gulped $1m per trip, has come to an inglorious end,” he said.
The governor, who congratulated Trump for winning against all odds, like he (Fayose) won his own election in Ekiti in 2014, appealed to the new American president to do everything possible to save Nigeria from the wanton killings and horrid human rights abuses of the Buhari administration.
He enjoined Trump to use his good offices to look into the daily killings in Nigeria particularly in Southern Kaduna where over 1,000 people were slaughtered like goats and buried in mass graves.
Fayose reiterated, “The Southern Kaduna killings is a clear case of genocide that must be thoroughly investigated and unraveled.
“To make matters worse was the bombing of the Internally Displaced Persons camp by the military in desperation to cover up the corruption and mismanagement of affairs in the camp.
” We appeal to Trump to ensure that the voice of the opposition is not silenced in this country.
“We however appreciate the non invitation of Buhari because that will give him the much needed opportunity to face the problems he inflicted on Nigeria, especially the IDP bombing, which left over 100 hapless Nigerians dead,” he added.

The Buhari administration is a focused government intent on making things happen.

GEJ was more concerned with appealing to sentiments rather than substance.

Never paying contractors, selling government assets to unqualified cronies (PHCN comes to mind), misleading his catchment by signing contracts but never completing (2nd Niger bridge etc). He was a likeable person with completely ulterior character.

SportsNigeria Wins Olympic Silver Medal by yashau(op): 9:26am On Aug 18, 2016
Nigeria has grabbed an Olympic silver medal courtesy the International Olympic Committee. But don’t be mistaken, the medal is from the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The IOC announced yesterday that Russia was stripped of a relay gold medal from the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Tuesday, after one of its female runners tested positive for steroids in a reanalysis of her doping samples. Sprinter Yulia Chermoshanskaya tested positive for two drugs — stanozolol and turinabol — and has been retroactively disqualified and, along with her team-mates, stripped of the gold medal in the women’s 4x100-meter relay, the International Olympic Committee said. Belgium stands to be upgraded to the relay gold, with Nigeria moving up to silver and Brazil to bronze. The IOC asked the IAAF to modify the results and consider any further sanctions against Chermosh-anskaya, who is no longer competing. The three other Russians runners in the relay final were Yulia Gushchina, Alexandra Fedoriva and Evgeniya Polyakova. Under IAAF rules, an entire relay team loses its medals if one of the runners tests positive.

PoliticsNo State Is Unsafe In Nigeria, US Lied – Lai Mohammed by yashau(op): 9:29am On Aug 12, 2016
The Federal Government of Nigeria has slammed the US government for declaring over 20 states in the country unsafe for its citizens.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who spoke while receiving a delegation from the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria in Abuja, said every state in the country was safe.

The American government had warned its citizens resident in the country to avoid traveling to states such as Ekiti, Borno, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, and Zamfara.

It cited armed robbery, kidnapping and terrorism, among others, as reasons for the advice.

However, Mohammed, who dismissed the US government’s claim, said the advisory published by the U.S. Embassy was untrue and should be discarded.

He urged the media to stop reporting negative things about Nigeria to the outside word.

He said: “We are in Nigeria. How can we believe the claim that 20 states in Nigeria are not safe. That is not correct. There is no state in Nigeria that is not safe today.

“Is there any week they are not killing people in the U.S., by either shooting in schools or driveways or people committing suicide or mass bombing? How many of these stories do their media celebrate?

“If they want to tell their people not to come to Nigeria, it is not for us to help them propagate it,” he said. accessible to them.”

RomanceRe: See What My Girlfriend Did Because I Failed To Sleep With Her by yashau(m): 5:15pm On Jul 18, 2016
henrylowe:
I started dating this girl in 2013 when she was still seeking admission. I was already done with school managing a little business for survival when she got admitted into the university. My plan was to get married to her if things went as planned.

A year after she gained admission,, she started exhibiting some questionable characters which seemed hard to cope with. She started acting like she was too busy for me, she started replying cold tgo my chat, she no longer cared and a few to mention. Well, I wasn't surprised because ladies often turn a new leaf the moment they get into the university and start having various toasters. Though, I could read these were signs of possible break up due to the pressure from various suitors and perhaps, better offers. I tried to rekindle the fire of our love by having a heart to heart talk with her but all my effort seemed to be a waste.

Her strange attitude, which I could no longer cope with, persisted until I told her I needed a break hoping she would beg me and make things right. To my greatest surprise, she said was cool with it if that was what I wanted shocked. We went separate ways for about 7 months after which we reconciled in April, this year. After a lengthy discussion blaming each other for our unseriousness and childishness, I inquired if she was still intact the way I left her and she told me she was. (Though, I would have confirmed that during cuddling but she was on her period that day)

She went home that day and later gave me a call back telling me she needed to see me the next day in order to make a confession. The moment she said it, I already knew she had lost it but I wanted to hear it from her mouth. She came the next day telling me she carelessly lost to a dude whom she wasn't dating it barely a month after we parted ways. shocked. I was so disappointed and sad that, how could someone I dated for one and half year without touching just throw herself to a man whom met just a month after to defile her.

She cried and pleaded for mercy and since forgiveness is from God, I forgave her even though I found it hard to get it off my chest. Now, I can still see some components of infidelity in her despite trying my best not to reminisce on the past. Though, I still love her but not as before and I no longer trust her like I used to do

Nairalander, don't you think it's too risky to continue with a relationship considering the fact that the TRUST is gone already? Please am I wasting my time with this lady or I should let her go just to save myself from worry and nightmare?

Please your advice is highly needed
