PoliticsRe: "Change" Does Not Come By Magic- Tinubu Says by yashau(m): 4:14pm On Jul 28, 2015
BeeBeeOoh:
By Levinus Nwabughiogu

ABUJA–National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said that President Mohammadu Buhari and the party have at least 100 days of honeymoon before embarking on the implementation of “change” programme.

Tinubu who defended his assertion said it was a norm the world over for new leaders to settle in the office before unfolding their agenda for their country.

The APC leader who is also a former Governor of Lagos State was in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday for a private meeting with President Buhari.

He added that change does not come by magic, stressing that it is driven by people and proper planning.

“Excuse me! Let us calm now here. How long ago? May 29th was when this president was sworn in. It is an international norm all over the world, there is an honeymoon period, at least minimum of 100 days honeymoon. And you won’t allow honeymoon at all? You said change is not coming. Change is not by magic. It driven by the people, the spirit and the character and the planning.

“You see, we have had so much problem in this country in the past because we run into policy blind folded without adequate and effective planning you don’t have results unless you plan well.

“The time it takes you to plan, examine, rejig, re-evaluate is more important than the time you just rush into taking action because you are either being sentimental, being emotional and being driven by other forces that are not expected. It is not fair to jump into those conclusions.

“There must be time to plan, to review and even listen to people. There is a separation between a campaign period, articulating your vision, expressing the promises to Nigerians. There is a time to look at holistically at what you inherited, analysis it, distil and then take action.

PoliticsOsinbajo Visits Idps Camp In Maiduguri by yashau(op): 1:57pm On Jul 02, 2015
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) will be resettled in their
reclaimed villages, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) said
yesterday when he visited their camp in Maiduguri, Borno
State. They are victims of Boko Haram insurgency.
“My visit is essentially to come and see things for myself. The
President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari has directed me
to come down to Maiduguri to see the IDPs, assess the
situation and take informed decision on their resettlement back
to their communities,” the VP told journalists shortly after his
visit to the Dalori IDPs Camp located at the outskirts of the
capital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital
(UMTH).
Osinbajo said he has also been briefed by Governor Kashim
Shettima and Director- General of the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Sani Sidi. He, however,
maintained that such briefings were not enough without
having a first-hand knowledge of the condition of the
displaced Boko Haram victims and the magnitude of
governments financial commitment.
“I’m here in Borno and in particular at the IDPs camp on a
specific instruction of the President to see things for myself.
The President asked me to come to join the governor and see
for myself what exactly is going on at the IDPs camps, not just
in Borno but both in Yobe and Adamawa states which have
been affected by the Boko Haram insurgency,” he said.
According to him, the Federal Government will resettle IDPs
back to their liberated towns and villages after careful
articulation of resettling plan or programme. He said the
primary responsibility of the government was to ensure the
security of the people and provide welfare for the citizenry,
assuring that government would also design a plan to assist
the displaced victims start a new life.
“It was not their making that insurgents or terrorists forced
them out of their communities. Government has the duty to
protect her people and also their welfare . The president is
committed to assisting the IDPs whose sources of income
have been cut off by the terrorists, to start a new life,”
Osinbajo stated. He said government will not shy away from
its responsibility despite scarce resources at its disposal.
Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, had
during the visit of the President to his palace, appealed to the
Federal Government to create jobs to curb crimes especially
insurgency in the Northeast.
Meanwhile, residents of Maiduguri have expressed worry over
the shutting down of major highways anytime senior
government officials and security chiefs visit the state. “It is
worrisome, the pains we were being subjected to each time
important personality visits the state. Roads were blocked
today and many of us couldn’t access our places of work or
businesses because of the Vice President’s visit,” says
Mohammed Lawan, a trader. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/osinbajo-visits-idps-camp-in-maiduguri/

PoliticsAwolowo Is Nigeria’s Best Politician Ever- Pete Edochie by yashau(op): 8:55am On Jun 28, 2015
Some entertainers are going into politics, are you
planning to do so in future?
I don’t like politics. Politicians don’t speak the truth.
Regrettably, there is no morality in politics. It doesn’t
justify it. I want people to see me for who I am. If Pete
Edochie says this thing is black, it’s black, there are no
two ways to it. In the next ten years, he still tells you this
is black. It gives me honour, it gives me integrity. But if
tomorrow, I join politics and make a statement, people
will begin to analyse it.
Whereas, in the movie industry today, I am the most
respected actor. All the people who are part of the
movies I feature in, respect me as their father. And it
gives me a lot of honour and satisfaction because I see
all of them as members of my family. So, I don’t like
politics. Recently, a new administration came on board in
Nigeria. A lot of people have been asking me about my
expectations from the new government. And my answer
is very simple, ‘Nothing.’
Buhari may stand out as an incorruptible creature. But
what about the people under his administration? If
Nigeria can be tinkered and rebuilt after Buhari’s image,
we will have a wonderful country. But when you are so
stuck in-graft, so stuck in corruption, it’s not always easy
to get rid of these vices in a single day. I was following
the progress of the now ruling party, APC, and I told a
couple of my friends that this party has no ideology.
I kept wanting to hear from them, this is what we shall
do and this is how we shall do it. I didn’t see or hear
anything like that. The best politician this country has
ever produced is Obafemi Awolowo. He may have been
parochial but I love Awolowo for one thing. He would tell
you I’m going to build this house, and this is what it will
cost me to carry out the project. This is how I am going
to raise the fund, and he went ahead and achieved it. No
other politician has been able to beat the record in
Nigeria.
What would you like to be remembered for?
Let it be said that, I spent my life giving joy to other
people.
ONCE HURT BY THE SYSTEM
I started acting practically before all of them. But I got
hurt along the line. During the centenary celebration, my
name was dropped. It was deliberate, conspiratorial. I
saw it, and people wrote about it in the dailies and called
me on phone. Even Former President Goodluck Jonathan
was mad over it. Again, it happened, and I did not kill
anybody for it.
At the end of the day, it is the way that your audience
sees you that matters. AfricaMagic organized Viewers
Choice Award and the entire continent said, this bearded
man desired an honour and I was given a car. I have
never angled for anything. Not at all. I have won more
awards than anybody else in the industry. I don’t
struggle for these things.
Could you relive the experience you had in the hands of
those criminals that abducted you few years ago at
Nkpor, a suburb in the commercial town of Onitsha?
It’s something I don’t like talking about it.

Christianity Etc7 Ways To Stay Sane And Spiritual While Working In Ramadan by yashau(op): 12:26am On Jun 27, 2015
How does one remain sane and focused when all around
life continues while fasting? Here are 7 ways to manage
your sanity while working in Ramadan as suggested by
Productive Muslim
Planning your meals is primary
The first thing to do is to think about what you are going
to eat at suhoor and iftar. What you eat has a very
powerful impact on your energy levels and whilst we
need the right proportion of carbs, protein, fruits and
vegetables, we do need to make sure that we do not
overload on carbs.
When you eat too many carbs and your body has to
work harder to process it, you will feel lethargic and
tired. Chances are, this is a big reason why you feel
lethargic at work.
And when you feel sluggish at work, you are less
productive and less able to do a good job. At the end of
the day even though you are fasting you still need to
make sure that you put in the right amount of effort in
order for you to earn your wage.
If you are going to work and believe that you can just go
in and do the hours and not be as productive then it’s a
major mistake. The requirement for ihsan (excellence) at
work does not change just because Ramadan has come
in. If anything, has it not increased along with its
reward?
Plan your annual leave in advance
Unless you are reading this in the last 10 days of
Ramadan, do your best to book these days off as annual
leave. That way you can focus entirely on Ramadan
rather than having to balance the struggle between work
and fasting. Come the end of the month, you will be left
feeling a lot better about what you were able to achieve,
rather than feeling that it has just slipped by.
However, if you are a school or university student with
no proper holidays, then plan your last ten days in
advance on making the best of non-school/class hours.
Make a schedule of how you want to spend each hour of
the day from traveling back from school in the vehicle till
iftar and taraweeh to the end of the day.
Maximize your time with the Qu’ran
I remember focusing on reading the Qur’an outside
Ramadan once. I would read on the journey to work, in
spare moments here and there and amazingly I was
reading an average of three chapters a day without
much difficulty. What I discovered was: when you set an
intention and then act on it, it’s amazing what you can
achieve.
Make your lunch breaks productive!
Be deliberate about what you are going to do in your
lunch break, but make sure you take it. You have a
number of options: you can go out for a walk and get
some fresh air, spend extra time on your prayer, read or
memorize Qur’an, meditate or take a nap.
These are just some ideas and surely there are many
others. Pick one and do it for a week (or even 10 days at
a time) and then change so that you don’t get bored.
Often what happens is we set our minds on doing
something, we don’t change it and then get bored. Have
a lunch break buddy wherein you can share verses that
you came across, or recite to each other perhaps.
Face workplace challenges patiently
List down what are the probable challenges you might
face while working and plan ways to combat them
efficiently. Here are some possible tips and tricks of
getting through the challenges productively:
Frustrating traffic:
Play Qur’an along your journey or if you have a CD of
your favorite mentor speaking then play that. Focus on
listening to it attentively, and you won’t feel the traffic
or the heat! Also, what better time than this to do dhikr.
Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla (glorified and exalted be He)
says,
“Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are
assured.” [Qur’an: Chapter 13, Verse 28]
Bullies at work:
There are many things that give us the opportunity to
learn and reflect at work. I find that working lunches are
fine because you just know that you are unable to eat –
focus on the reward that you are receiving and that
should keep you going.
Remember that fasting is an act of worship that is
between you and Allah, only He knows if you are really
fasting. You will encounter the odd person that says ‘go
on, have something, noone will know if you eat and
drink something.’ Have a little patience in responding,
it’s an opportunity for you to do dawah.
If individuals are particularly challenging approach your
manager or HR to ask for guidance on what to do. Most
employers tend to be aware of their responsibilities to
employees during Ramadan.
Too much work that effects the time for prayer or
reading Qur’an:
Take a five-ten minute break to relax and read the
Qur’an. Not only does it help you insert Ibadah into your
busy schedule, it actually serves as a productive way of
working by getting you freshened up for the next task. As
for prayer, make it a habit to make your work revolve
around prayer.
Prioritize it by going for prayer no matter what work
you’re doing or are in the middle of. It also adds a lot of
barakah (blessings) to your time and work!
Remind yourself of the reward of having patience,
Ramadan being the perfect time to learn to practice it.
The ultimate secret: Plan what you will do when you
get home from work
It doesn’t matter if you want to have a nap or if you
want to just veg out for a little while and unwind, the
key is to be deliberate. When you know what you are
doing, it becomes a lot easier for you to maximise your
time even if you are just relaxing or sleeping. Now if you
get home from work and have kids and other
responsibilities waiting for you, then my
recommendation is to have a nap on the journey home
from work (unless you are driving of course!).
If you have a lot to do when you get home then I am
going to suggest that because in the summer time Fajr is
so early, you can spend a short time afterwards doing
dhikr or reading Qur’an and then try to go to sleep again
and wake up as late as you can to get ready and go to
work. Plan to sleep immediately after taraweeh so as to
wake up fresh and early for suhoor and tahajjud (night
prayer). There is a lot of barakah in these early hours
and so use them to finish your homeworks etc.
This is where planning is fundamental. You cannot do
everything, its all about balance and during Ramadan the
key is to burn the candle at one end only so that you can
maximise your ibadah and yet not wear yourself out.
The most important way to maintain your sanity is to
focus on it. You know you are going to get ratty, you
know you are going to find it a little challenging ,so focus
on being calm and present during each and every fast
and renew the intention each day. Ramadan Kareem!

Igbos hate unnecessary shedding of blood. They respect and value human life. Even the ancients Igbos, before Christianity came, they respected human life and love peace. Christianity easily won over the Igbos because it is peaceful and respects human life, even the life of an enemy.

Those that think that Igbos have not been exposed to Islam are wrong. Igbos have long been exposed to it, even today Igbos all over the world are exposed to Islam. Sometimes muslims will even try to win converts by promising them riches. I know how many times they have tried to convert me, my friends, and etc. I know Igbos in the muslim countries, still they will never consider joining. A friend of mine happily lost a contract that would have been his, if only he accepted Islam. The few Igbos that pretend to be muslims only do it to get positions and contracts.

PoliticsBuhari Comments On Health And Education Allegations by yashau(op): 10:06am On Jan 19, 2015
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) debunked rumours surrounding
his health condition and educational status.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate
spoke yesterday during the press conference in Abuja accusing
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of intention to deviate from
the core campaign by posing such allegations.
According to Vanguard, the former military Head of State also
challenged the ruling party to address the fallout from the poor
management of the economy.
The press conference became necessary for Buhari to comment
on the controversy regarding his alleged ill-health and lack of the
educational qualification for the upcoming polls.

The politician debunked the widely circulating reports that the
former head of state was about to travel abroad because of his
health condition. Buhari described the information as forged.
“I was at Nasarawa and Benue states yesterday (Saturday).
Tomorrow I am going to be in two states. The day after tomorrow in
two more states. I am doing two states per day. How they got the
impression that I was sick I do not know although I got cold and that
did not stop me from going through my schedule.
“I don’t know of this desperation. The issue we are telling Nigerians
is that of corruption in this country for the last 16 years PDP has
literally destroyed this country. This is the issue and what has my
health got to do with that one?
“Document have been put in the papers, on twitter that I am sick but
the ABU said they are forged documents. This desperation is beyond
my understanding.”
When asked by one of the journalists to clearly shed light on his
health condition, Buhari inquired:
“How old are you? 50 years? I am telling you if we go to the field,
you would not last the time I will last in the field.”

On the issue of his educational fitness for the February elections,
APC candidate wondered where his accusers were when the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cleared him to
contest the previous elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
“I have contested three times under the same rules set by the INEC. I
was allowed to contest all these elections because my certificate was
in order and there were individuals that wrote to the United States
War College and the college answered them and it was published by
some of your papers. So really this desperation of misinformation
that is being passed around will do nobody any good because our
minds are being taken away from the serious issues of corruption
and incompetence by the PDP.”

PoliticsAsari-dokubo Blasts Jonathan by yashau(op): 7:05am On Jan 19, 2015
Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo has lambasted President Goodluck
Jonathan for squandering the political goodwill of Nigerians who
voted him into office in 2011, The nation reports.
The former leader of the Niger Delta People’s Salvation and
Volunteer Force (NDSVF) who was speaking at Bungavilla Hotel,
Port Harcourt, in Rivers State said many people are angry with
President Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership style.

Asari-Dokubo was at the hotel to address students of his
university, King Amachree African University, which is located in
Cotonou, Benin Republic, on the need for violence-free elections.
He opined that Jonathan would have enjoyed an easy re-election
in next month’s polls to if he had done things properly.
He accused the president of tolerating his enemies instead of
jailing them describing his recent to former President Olusegun
Obasanjo as an embarrassment to the office of the President.
“You don’t naked the office of the President, but Jonathan has done
that by not dealing decisively with his enemies. For instance, he has
no business going to Abeokuta to see Obasanjo, he has squandered
the political goodwill he has.”
“A lot of our people especially in Niger Delta are angry with Jonathan
but they have no option than to vote for him because what is coming
is worst than him. Goodluck Jonathan would have enjoyed an easy
ride if he had done things strictly the way the people want it to be.”
He went to predict that the president will not succeed in his quest
to end the activities of terrorists in the North-eastern part of the
country. He alleged that the security apparatus of the country is in
the hand of northerners and they are all against the president.
He further alleged that top military officers are collaborating with
some politicians in the North to frustrate the military’s efforts to
end the insurgency and by extension frustrating the government
of Jonathan.

that President Goodluck Jonathan’s doctorate degree as well as
Vice President Namadi Sambo’s degree in architecture are too
weak to reflected positively on their style of governance.
Speaking at the rally, Fashola underlined that the standard of
living and security of Nigerians had worsened since Jonathan
took power, despite being the first doctorate-degree holder to
become President of Nigeria.
Fashola said: “When the President, a PhD holder, assumed office,
rather than improve the standard of living of the citizens, we were
having regression. His vice is an architect but he cannot construct
roads.
“But it is saddening that a lawyer is the Commissioner for Works in
Edo State and he has constructed several roads. In Ogun State, the
Commissioner for Works is an architect and he has built several
roads.”
Fashola accused Vice President Sambo of doing nothing for the
nation: “All he (Sambo) could do was to inform the President that
people are leaving Lagos because of the state tax regime. And I want
everyone to ask the Vice President if the number of vehicles coming
into Lagos has reduced,” he added.
Fashola maintained that, “you should not vote for someone with
inexperience”. “The PDP governorship candidate in Lagos is a
pharmacist that does not know anything about the running of
government. Anytime he speaks, he shows his ignorance,” he said.
According to Fashola, the PDP-led Federal Government had ruined
the nation’s economy. He believed the governorship candidate of
the APC, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, was a better candidate, as he
was responsible for restructuring the state’s finances when
former President Olusegun Obasanjo withheld for several months
billions of naira belonging to the state.
Moreover, Fashola said the Lagos PDP governorship candidate,
Mr. Jimi Agbaje, tells lies about his government and warned
people not to believe him.
Agbaje had accused the APC- led state government of
underfunding the education sector during a governorship debate
on Thursday.

I read online the question a lady asked. The question
is
how can Buhari who earns over 300million naira
yearly
claim that he can not afford to pay 27million naira for
the
APC presidential form. I became interested and
decided to
investigate. I went to the ministry of Finance where I
discovered that it is true that all former Presidents
and
Head of states actually get 23million naira monthly.
But I
found out that General Buhari actually wrote the
minister
of Finance to reject the 23million monthly pay. He
said in
his letter that he will only accept 10percent or that
amount which is 2.3million and that is what he has
been
taking. This is just to clear the air. What a Nigerian!
what

God please make us men and women of integrity.
