They commit about 90% of the crimes in Yorubaland too!

I pray that president Tinubu will set up a sovereign conference for nations that want to leave Nigeria and the rest can renegotiate their stay together.

So if igbos do not take the opportunity to leave then they will have no mouth to complain again. Part of the condition to allow them to stay is for igbo to never run for president because people who don't have money can't be in charge of my money. Peter Obi whose region contributes less than 2% wants to manage our money.
FoolishBoy419:
There's no ethnic group that is more vocal about the poor state of Nigeria than these people yet they commit multiple times more crime abroad than all other Nigerian ethnic groups combined. Go to South Africa, India, Philippines, UAE, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and just about everywhere. Even poor African countries arw complaining about Nigerians. It is always fraud, drugs, cultism, and human trafficking. Just one set of people have successfully gotten us banned or heavily restricted in almost all countries around the world. Can you imagine, even our brothers in Seychelles have banned us. Singapore that gives Africans free Visas have also banned us all. UAE has banned us, and India will soon do the same. You say that others have destroyed the country and are holding you back but like cancer cells, you destroy every "saner clime" you find yourselves in. I think we should just give them their country and go in peace.

You can type in something like "ibo man detained by Thai imigration" it's been at least 7 years now. The Thailand imigration was telling him things like "we know you ibo are the ones bringing in drugs."

This is why we need to start saying 'Yoruba Nigeria' or straight up 'Yorubaland' like in the past, and 'igbo Nigeria' or straight up 'igboland' to let people know who is who. Why is a Welsh able to say I'm from Wales when asked where they are from and english say 'I'm from England' at the US imigration, but we can't? Thailand already knows the ethnic make up of Nigeria as seen in a video where an igbo man was being tongue-lashed by the custom or imigration.

All of these have no solution to the problem at hand.
Goodluck to you too!
IbeOkehie:

The time to abolish subsidy was 10 years ago when Nigeria was relatively buoyant. That’s the point. The lesson must be emphasized so it doesn't happen again. Basically SOCIALIST policies don't work.

Retaining fuel subsidies destroyed the financially stability of Nigeria. 10 years of subsidy emptied the Excess Crude Account and forced Nigeria to borrow huge amounts.

Also it's well known that HIGHER crude oil prices INCREASE the cost of fuel subsidy. So you can imagine how ruinous it was when crude was at $120.

APC and their voters made a huge error in opposing President Jonathan back in 2012 and then compounding it by electing a socialist like Buhari in 2015. Occupy Nigeria was a seminal error and Nigerians are paying the price of their stupidity.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

Who are you asking to apologize to Niger?

I'm thinking it's Tinubu but you didn't mention his name and I'm not cut for reading what looks like digital tantrums. If you are talking about Tinubu, then you must be a cow.

What an insult!

There's nothing one won't see on this platform!

First of all president Tinubu never disrespected Niger but if he decides to, what is Niger that a whole president Tinubu will apologize to and negotiate with? There won't be any further negotiations and president Tinubu don't need respects from them.

You guys think that because president Tinubu is Yoruba, you can walk over him, no he's in the 1% like me and not your average Yoruba. We don't bow to nobody, we say the truth, show respect and kindness but no one walks over me and you will find out with president Tinubu. And if you want to make Nigeria ungovernable for him, we will separate the country before you know it. Afterall we are not a nation or one, we came together under an agreement that is not working and we can part ways.

You people have guts man! It's funny!

Same way Buhari dodged and destroy the economy.. Nigeria is a big project...

It is very clear he wasn't the only one that got panicked by the coup at our backyard but the men surrounding him who see his emergence as an opportunity to rule without disturbance..

At this point, I don't even think Niger would listened to him because he would be tagged a snake that cannot be trusted..

Thank you our great president!

Don't let them destroy the purpose of ecowas, any nations that goes against the rules must be yanked off democratic table.

Add more sanctions and secure the border with special forces that have no relationship with Niger and break ecowas into 2 so can countries can choose where they want to be. And your work as ecowas chairman is done. If Chad decides to join them, it will just go in the same pocket as Niger and others.

Some new info there, back them I wasn't into politics like I am right now.
nairalanda1:

EVEN THEN...subsidy should have gone back in 2012.

The real reason why Jona wanted to remove subsidy in 2012 was simple...in 2011, subsidy costs had grown from 25% the precceding year to 60% of our oil revenue.

At that point, subsidy was going to eat all our revenue, AND our reserves, AND make us increase borrowing. (Already we were borrowing because subsidy costs were eating big amounts of our revenue).

At the end, one did not need to support GEJ, and lord knows I did not, to stop supporting subsidy. (Back then, I was supporting subsidy removal because of the fact that it really did not benefit the poor...the final straw was the amount of savings realized from the partial removal that Jona did that raised prices from N65 to N97. Had I known of the above figures I had ..I would have probably been screaming on the streets that people should stop protesting and go home.).

Ecowas is not for babysitting coupists and that's why they have handed it to a leader who can set it straight. There's a consequence for every action in a lawful society, Ecowas has been violated and they have to be held accountable. Ecowas can't be rendered useless as lawless people like you want. No one is forcing anyone to do anything or taking panadol for anyone's headache, this is a duty president Tinubu has to perform under his role, and it's not a difficult thing. Democratic govts can't mingle with military govts and that's why there must be 2 or 3 ecowas. Incase you are blind, I have said many times that those countries have rights to be anything they want to be but can't force me to be part of them just like I can't force them.

You can't understand this because your mind was created for crimes only, so irrational.

President Tinubu won the elections fair and square and he's the legitimate president. He has also not threatened any country, sanctions are enough for him to use.

You are the one not making sense!

It seems you are just lawless at heart.

Ecowas is an organization that is fractured and cannot just die like that since some have put their sweat in it and can still offer some help to people. It also needs to keep to rule of law and dividing it is a way to save it from total collapse.

Nigeria and other countries deserves to have people with the same mindset at the table just like the military govts countries do. Nigeria is not kicking anyone out but giving everyone a chance rather than let the whole organization die.

Nigeria deserves to be broken too but there's no imminent war or fear of war or serious interest among regions. Breaking ecowas too can lead to breaking Nigeria since coup countries have sympathizers in Nigeria.

Ecowas is not an external problem now that president Tinubu is the chairman, he has to protect it from destruction. President Tinubu won't need to take a knife there to divide it and does not even need to be there for the votes, this is what reps are there for. A 1 hour votes ends it. Lawlessnes should never be allowed.

Just as the coup govts have rights to be with their allies, democratically elected govt need to have their own allies too. Are they afraid of being isolated? We have no hand in that.

If you believe they have done a good job toppling their govts, they should be bold enough to stand together and not lean on democratic govts for support, after all they are soldiers.

Ecowas needs to be cut into 2 or 3 immediately so countries can still work together.

Fejoku:

Before your Tinubu there have been three coups in the same ECOWAS and the former Chairman was engaging the coupists to see how democracy can be restored peacefully. They've been patient yet consistent and it has kept those coupist on their toes knowing they're being watched. Then came your fraudulent president and just one coup under him, he's threatening fire and brimstone. You want to force your will on them as if you're there father and god. You forgot that your immediate past president was also an unrepentant coupist yet you allowed him to rule you again. You think people can't read the message you're passing by your actions and inactions.
The point is that you don't have the moral right to dictate to them on what they think is best for their country. Typical of you, after seeing them standing firmly on their path, you turned around to wish the destruction of what had existed for long simply because your useless threat was called bluff. You see ehn, the way you people reason is very pathetic.
There's no single death attached to the coup and the people of the various countries are happy with the interventionists. Why una come dey drink panadol on another person's headache? Una don run go switch off their light... na so una be?
You don't need ECOWAS divided before you can live your life. Live your life and let other countries live their own too. Why is it hard for you to understand?
I know your problem though, you want to use Niger and prop up the illegitimate government of Tinubu. Everyone can see it o. People no dumb na. Una want take Niger shine.

What you're saying doesn't make sense at all. You haven't dealt with your internal problems yet you want to go and face the external one that isn't really a problem. Nigeria doesn't need to break ECOWAS just to have her way, she can go about it solo afterall, she calls herself a giant. Bear this in mind though; you can't change the minds and opinions of other countries as it pertains to their own beliefs in this situation. It is better you face your Nigeria and divide it for the good of everyone.

These 3 countries have shown that they aren't fit to be in the committee of serious countries so they must be cut loose. They are suspended now if Al Jazeera is right, and must not be allowed back since they have violated the rules and are no longer in good standing. The only thing left is to divide into 2 or 3 if need be to accommodate everyone. No democratically elected president should have anything to do with a military dictator, we are way past that.

Tbh, what these dictator countries do with themselves is not our business, all we need to do is let them be to chart a new front for themselves, we just won't have anything to do with them, and countries like us can come together to do the same.

flokii:
What these smaller countries like Burkina Faso and likes backing Niger republic junta don't know is that they can't do much in isolation against the erstwhile colonial powers like France.. it's got to be a collective thing, a dialogue through established bodies like ECOWAS and AU.

Ireti is just a Yoruba in name only, she herself is not a Yoruba.

Her father is fulani, her mother is half fulani and half Yoruba.

Ireti is a fulani, there's no way Buhari would give that slot to a Yoruba.

Yoruba need to watch what is behind names and question it when it's too good to be true. if a Yoruba had gone to her for help and she refused, the story would be "Yoruba don't help each other" without knowing that she's just Yoruba in name only and has just about 12.5% Yoruba blood from one grandmother along the line. There was no way Buhari would leave a fulani and give Fct slot to Yoruba.
LegendHero:

Labor party caused that. Because Abuja people lost their thinking to some ELupee nonsense party, they sold their only senatorial ticket to a non indigene like Ireti.

Now if the constituents need something or their king/older class need something, shey na Ireti a Yoruba woman go provide am for them or na she dey go confide in. Wetin Ireti know about their struggle and problem?

She go just dey collect the constituent money dey use am develop her own state like one other Lagos honorable wey dey always carry constituency project (by selling slot) go Imo state wey be him indigenous state that time.

This is what happens when liberalism crept into a society. They lose their brain.

If you really care about people that are suffering, you won't be talking about what happened 10 years ago.

People were against subsidy removal then because oil was $120/barrel. The excess crude account had money and foreign reserve had tens of $billions, the subsidy was like dividends to Nigerians, there was no reason to remove it. Now that all these accounts are empty and this year budget passed by the past administration had no subsidy funds in there, president Tinubu had no choice than to remove it.
