I'm not religious, though born and raised a Christian with Muslim aunts, uncles, cousins and married a Muslim. But the Muslims are becoming overbearing which is not typical of Yoruba but imported to Yorubaland through Islam and mixed families.

Oyo is a Yorubaland, not Islamic land so the Alaafin should be rotational between all faiths. The last Alaafin is a Muslim, this us a Christian and the next one should be Isese.

No, I was told by different people that Yoruba don't do these jobs, I even offered 10k per day when the normal fee is 5k. I had a deep conversation with a community leader who told me that, these youths will just be "yan fanda fanda" than accept to do a security guard job when I offered $100 equivalent when the normal pay is about half of that.

I'm reacting because it never crossed my mind that a jobless person can reject a job.

What an excuse!

Bricklaying & tailoring are considered skilled jobs and you know that I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about people who wake up everyday doing nothing and still refuse to do whatever job is available, that's laziness, the only reason you won't call it out is because you are either one or you don't tell the truth. If you value hardwork, you will encourage everyone to take whatever is available while searching for the next step.

Menial jobs is for every able bodied man who has no job.

There's a 29 yrs old Yoruba guy today who started with washing dishes in a restaurant and later did security guard for the same restaurant, l thinkhe once worked lawn care too, today he's a senior security engineer in a govt agency complete with an assistant making almost $200k plus great benefits. I even told him about this yesterday and he couldn't believe it that people can refuse a job when there's no alternative. A lot of money changes hand at the bottom level and it's just to hold on till you are able to get up. Laziness is the problem of most of you.

At least three of my blood brothers and their wives are in Edo Forest farming. Ondo state forests as well. Even in Cote De Voire, many Yoruba are doing more than menial works to earn living and they come home to build and established after their sojourn. ''It is see finish'' that is disturbing you but try to research. In Lagos, Yoruba men find it absurd to fry akara because its a women job. Yoruba men see opening shop a woman job in their culture. They will rather open it and put their wives there.

Lazy youth, you will have to beg or steal if you don't want to take any job available to you, and still die in poverty.
