Like I said on the other thread when he was accused of similar thing, there are situations that might arrive in shipping/logistics which might be beyond the control of the shipper, but if he carry his clients along, they might understand. |

deolascope:You're the fool here. The primary aim of this thread was to share exchange rates of different banks in the country so people can know the cheapest among them and use it. So, if you used a bank charging less than the cheapest we have on this thread and kept it to yourself then what stops someone (an entrepreneur) from selling his idea? To those who feel that sharing exchange rates here influences the bank rate should remember that all business men here (importers etc) don't make up to 2% of the banks' customers doing international transaction. 2 Likes |

Hope this is not coming late? I don't think the CC rep was right. Truth is, some of these so called CC don't know much about what's happening in their bank. Last month, I printed a two-page Statement of Account to investigate a fraudulent deduction by FirstBank on my account and it captured my home address as well. |

GTBank is still fair compare to FirstBank. There Visa card which is the cheapest was charged at $1/228 at 25-11-15 and $1/232 on 27/11/15. |

UPDATE I sent FirstBank CC a well detailed and comprehensive mail of my all transaction in the last three weeks before the sudden disappearance of the funds in my account. I also copied CBN. Below was the reply I got from them; Thank you for contacting FirstContact. We refer to your mail. Your complaint has been forwarded to the appropriate unit for investigation. You will be contacted upon resolution. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for your feedback and continued patronage. Meanwhile, I linked my FirstBank MasterCard to my Nigerian PayPal account yesterday, and received the debit alert in the early hours of today. I was charged 452.41N for $1.95. It's save to say their rate for today on MasterCard is $1/236.63 |

UPDATE: I was at the bank around 11am this morning after my exam. According to the customer representative, some money actually disappeared from my account but he didn't know the reason as it was yet to be updated on their database. He claimed my online transaction for Wednesday (the day I noticed the disappearance) was also yet to reflect on their database as well and can't say the reason for the sudden disappearance of the money until my last transaction reflect. He said I should come back by Wednesday next week. 1 Like 1 Share |

iAmCharis:The environment I find myself presently doesn't allow such behaviour; it could be tagged an attempt to cause social or public disorder and an avenue to rob the bank. It's an academic setting that is highly tribalised and as one for the minority group, I have learnt to do things diplomatically pending when I leave here. I don't wish to have issue with the school authority as the environment is presently tribal tensed due to the likelihood of a power shift. This is not the best time to pull such stunt. mavinc4u:Thanks! When I noticed the sudden disappearance of the amount from my account, I visited a branch inside my school to lodge a complain. The customer care representatives were quite busy with people who either came for BVN registration or linkage. However, they took me as a fool as though I knew not what I was doing. They kept directing me from one desk to another and refuse my request to use their telephone to speak with their headquarters. Finally, I got a complaint form, filled it and gave it to the CC agent I believe handle such issue, I actually though he will look into it immediately. I was disappointed when he told me to come tomorrow, that they will investigate the issue. I left but I'm not optimistic enough with the branch as almost everything is tribalised in here. Hence, the reason I want to take it a step forward by involving Central Bank of Nigeria for faster resolution of the sudden disappearance of the money. It happened without any form of debit alert or whatsoever. I'll update the house as the issue progresses. One more thing, I'll be glad if I get the format used when banks charged extra rate after transaction has been carried out. Regards. |
