Infinitikoncept: As much as I don't appreciate the Toluxa of a guy wanting to sell his information to fellow guys on this forum cox one way or the other we have all benefited directly or indirectly from each others help and asking the next faceless guy to pay means the next time anyone ask him for help he will charge as well. So in the long run we will sacrifice friendship over money all I'm the name of entrepreneur smartness. But I'm amazed that you know banks charging less than 210 yet you can't spill the info but can crucify another guy who wants to sell his information. You hoarded yours cox you feel nobody should know it so let the guy who wants to sell have peace of mind. You claiming you know the bank he is using and saying it in codes shows your type of person. Please let Toluxa be if he wants to be an entrepreneur but at the end what knitted us together will soon collapse cox we may all become information marketers unconsciously. Exactly! Many of his type are also here claiming to use bank that charges below CBN official rate but will be quick to attack someone who chooses to sell such information. |

deolascope: Introducing a fool.
Why will you pay for something that's readily available.
There are 22 banks in NIgeria. And your man above is talking about just 1 of them.
Access Bank - Acquired Intercontinental Bank Citibank Diamond Bank Ecobank Nigeria - Acquired Oceanic Bank Fidelity Bank Nigeria First Bank of Nigeria First City Monument Bank - Acquired FinBank FSDH Merchant Bank - Merchant Bank Guaranty Trust Bank Heritage Bank Plc. - Acquired Enterprise Bank (formerly Spring Bank) Keystone Bank Limited - Formerly Bank PHB Rand Merchant Bank - Merchant bank Skye Bank - Acquired Mainstreet Bank Limited Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria Limited Standard Chartered Bank Sterling Bank - Acquired Equitorial Trust Bank Suntrust Bank Nigeria Limited Union Bank of Nigeria - Owned By Union Global Partners Limited United Bank for Africa Unity Bank Plc. Wema Bank Zenith Bank
I personally used 2 yesterday that still offered me 207/213 for some payments. Why will any sane human being pay for something they can get. Call their customer service and get it!... Did he pay for it when he got it?
If this man dares me now. I will get the details of the bank and spill it.... I have the time to do it.
It is only a fool that'll pay for available information. You're the fool here. The primary aim of this thread was to share exchange rates of different banks in the country so people can know the cheapest among them and use it. So, if you used a bank charging less than the cheapest we have on this thread and kept it to yourself then what stops someone (an entrepreneur) from selling his idea? To those who feel that sharing exchange rates here influences the bank rate should remember that all business men here (importers etc) don't make up to 2% of the banks' customers doing international transaction. |

I don't think the CC rep was right. Truth is, some of these so called CC don't know much about what's happening in their bank.
Last month, I printed a two-page Statement of Account to investigate a fraudulent deduction by FirstBank on my account and it captured my home address as well. |

ceaser: I have been using this address to successfully track most items. But I suppose it gives information only for transits till it gets to Nigeria customs and not beyond.
What I need is something to track the goods once it is cleared by customs and handed over to NIPOST for onward delivery, "all within Nigeria" transit.
While I think I need this is cos transits of some items may get truncated at the point of customs in which case I will know there isn't much I may be able to do to solve customs wàhálà. But the moment I know it is with NIPOST, I like to be able to follow it. www.nipost.gov.ng/TrackAndConfirm.aspx |

UPDATE
I sent FirstBank CC a well detailed and comprehensive mail of my all transaction in the last three weeks before the sudden disappearance of the funds in my account. I also copied CBN.
Below was the reply I got from them;
Thank you for contacting FirstContact.
We refer to your mail.
Your complaint has been forwarded to the appropriate unit for investigation.
You will be contacted upon resolution.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
Thank you for your feedback and continued patronage.
Meanwhile, I linked my FirstBank MasterCard to my Nigerian PayPal account yesterday, and received the debit alert in the early hours of today. I was charged 452.41N for $1.95. It's save to say their rate for today on MasterCard is $1/236.63 |

UPDATE:
I was at the bank around 11am this morning after my exam.
According to the customer representative, some money actually disappeared from my account but he didn't know the reason as it was yet to be updated on their database.
He claimed my online transaction for Wednesday (the day I noticed the disappearance) was also yet to reflect on their database as well and can't say the reason for the sudden disappearance of the money until my last transaction reflect.
He said I should come back by Wednesday next week. |

iAmCharis: Eeehn? You don't even need to mail CBN. Storm into the branch you use often and reign fire on all of them. From the customer care people to the manager. Na there there dem go return your money.
For this naija? The environment I find myself presently doesn't allow such behaviour; it could be tagged an attempt to cause social or public disorder and an avenue to rob the bank. It's an academic setting that is highly tribalised and as one for the minority group, I have learnt to do things diplomatically pending when I leave here. I don't wish to have issue with the school authority as the environment is presently tribal tensed due to the likelihood of a power shift. This is not the best time to pull such stunt. Whoever have the format I requested above should kindly post it here. Thanks. |

mavinc4u: Lol, what did they do? cpd@cbn.gov.ng Thanks! When I noticed the sudden disappearance of the amount from my account, I visited a branch inside my school to lodge a complain. The customer care representatives were quite busy with people who either came for BVN registration or linkage. However, they took me as a fool as though I knew not what I was doing. They kept directing me from one desk to another and refuse my request to use their telephone to speak with their headquarters. Finally, I got a complaint form, filled it and gave it to the CC agent I believe handle such issue, I actually though he will look into it immediately. I was disappointed when he told me to come tomorrow, that they will investigate the issue. I left but I'm not optimistic enough with the branch as almost everything is tribalised in here. Hence, the reason I want to take it a step forward by involving Central Bank of Nigeria for faster resolution of the sudden disappearance of the money. It happened without any form of debit alert or whatsoever. I'll update the house as the issue progresses. One more thing, I'll be glad if I get the format used when banks charged extra rate after transaction has been carried out. Regards. |
