PoliticsRe: I Imposed Curfew For FCT Elections With President Tinubu’s Approval – Wike by yemre: 7:07am On Feb 22
Abbeytoy:
It's a thing to restrict movement when there's an election, so what makes Wike wrong on this?
Why are you surprised? Is it today you know they must criticize everything wether good or bad?

They are never satisfied. If there was no restriction, they must still come and say that they lost because the government failed to restrict movement for their members to view for their party

How many governments or dispensations have you had since 1998 because you people don't reason. The past governments have not done anything about this money yet it has been there and it is their right.

Now that Tinubu's government has decided to release the money, all you could do is criticize him. Bad people everywhere!

Nonsense, money he never released for 3years abi billions just appear from nowhere. They is Noone that man cannot buy besides himself....

They are so bitter because they don't want people to prosper. Yet they will say the government is bad. They are poor, They are this, they are that. Now the government is releasing money but they are sad.

Exactly what they want I don't know. Five more years to go anyways

There was having sharing formula with a record label.

but in all seriousness, if you decide to embark on a career in the arts; you shouldn't necessarily expect the government to take care of you when you're old or get any extra benefits from them.

with that being said, this at the very least sets a legal framework for artistes to be fairly compensated for their IP.

that is if record label no rip them sha

PoliticsRe: Rufai Oseni Blows Hot As Tinubu Signs Electoral Act Amendment Bill by yemre: 2:47pm On Feb 19
CharleyBright:
Wetin we no go see under Tinubu govt.
That amendment bill was dictated by Tinubu.
The man tells both Senate and House of Representatives what he wants done and they do it without question.

Tinubu has every tendency to be a dictator.
The man woke up one day and said he doesn't like the National Anthem and it must be changed. And so it was.
On his inauguration, he said Subsidy is gone. And so it was.
If he wakes up tomorrow and says the constitution has been amended to 16yrs single term, those rubber stamp senators will stamp it, Tinubu's shameless supporters will defend it as the best thing to happen to Nigeria.
Godswill Akpabio is the most useless and spineless Senate President there ever was in Nigeria. Such a loud mouth coward !!!
Awon werey ole jati jati na dem full APC. angry
Stay there and keep underestimating the power of a president. why do you think your principal wants to become the president at all costs? Why do you think Atiku has continued to contest consistently for the past 20 years? If you know your onions and have what it takes to lead, y will have your way 💯
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Used the Muslim Call-To-Prayer To Lure Kwara Residents To Their Death by yemre: 9:06pm On Feb 18
But wait! Is it really possible that carnage will go on in a location for more than 5 hours and there will be no information getting to the security agencies or even the general public. I don't want to believe there is nobody in that village with a smartphone or whatever in this 2026.

Someone should please educate me on the possibility of this because I don't quite understand.

The same way about 100 people will enter a village and kidnap another 100 and take them on bike out of their site and everybody in that village will claim they don't even know where they pass. No phones, no recording, no nothing. This is strange now.

kellyzaf:
You seems not to understand anambra peoples stand on this topic, Let me ask you this one question, as Soludo is trying so hard to force people out on Monday's against their wishes, paraventure people comes out and those unknown gun men strike and get people killed which is the main reason people are scared to come out on Monday's. What will your Soludo say to the families of the victims. Have u asked soludo what he did to the past victims families that are been killed in the past because of opening their business on mondays. I believe you know that he did nothing. Can't you see that this is the main reason people are scared to come out, it is never intentional to disobey the governor but is because your so called soludo has not provide the essential securities that people can see and be sure that their lives are safe if they come out on mondays. Let's put sentiment aside bro, is it because you ve not loose a love one because of this sit at home issues that makes you not to understand the people fears? You are really funny bro
You don't even know that you're sitting at home as soon of the reasons these people are bored enough to come out because they know there are not many people that can confront them.

Let them come and try it in a in a crowded place like Lagos now and let's see if they will get away with it even with their guns and everything.

Anyways I got your point.
FoodRe: When I Say Things Are Cheap In Nigeria, Lots Of People Will Argue With Me by yemre:
Nnamdipapa:
There are other bills, mortgage $2800/month, heating and electricity, about 500$ per month. I was relatively healthy and had no need for the hospital. In Canada or western countries, you get the money and they all go out as bills plus you have to live a super boring life. I would prefer the bad roads and occasional power interruptions to a super boring life where you only exist to pay bills.
Honestly you are such an ingrate! You count mortgage as part of your bills? Is mortgage not your property that you are paying for overtime? Consider the Naira equivalent of $2,800 and check how many Nigerians can afford to pay that for a mortgage here on the monthly basis.

On your boring life, it's your choice. as boring as you claim it is, how many Nigerians or even your own close friends or relatives have you helped to relocate to Canada or you think it is just for you alone and to come back here and complain to us? See this man o.

When next you want to make such comparison, consider your audience. Not all of them are daft.
FoodRe: When I Say Things Are Cheap In Nigeria, Lots Of People Will Argue With Me by yemre: 4:22am On Feb 18
Honestly seriousness is far from many of you guys here. How dare you compare Canadian economy with that of Nigeria? What exactly is the basis? Try and be reasonable for once now. You bought a book for $15 and Amazon and same book for 16,200 Naira here in Nigeria and then you are making nonsense comparison? How many dollars do you earn per hour in Canada on the minimum wage level and in Nigeria where salaries come once in 30 days on a minimum wage of 70,000 (<$50 in a whole month) naira. Have you divided the 70,000 naira into Harley basis and check what it comes to?

Smh.

I don't want to talk! Abeg.

Even the other one said he located to Nigeria and is now enjoying Nigeria. Why did you travel to Canada in the first place? After you have made a lot of dollars in Canada, you're not coming to spend in naira in Nigeria and now you are claiming you are enjoying Nigeria because things are cheap. Why won't you enjoy Nigeria, tell me?

Anyways All Hope is not lost? I believe Nigeria will still be better probably with the reforms and policies going on here and there. We will get there someday bus of today stop that your inconsiderate (for want of a relatively acceptable word) comparison.

You still trying to defend nonesense, mind you I m from Anambra and there has never been any such rule in anambra weather in constitution or any where in anambra state government. Soludo is just trying so hard to please his slave masters, he suddenly becomes a tyrant to his people just to make a point to his slave masters. He is an ass licker to apc. Know this and know peace.i know much about my state politics bro
Bro, I'm happy you're from Anambra and I just wonder how happy you are, knowing that your state is locked down every Monday and all economic activities paralyzed because of Nnamdi Kanu?

Are you also aware that emergency movements are also halted on those days? I am not from the southeast but I have been stranded in Ikot Ekpene before primarily because there was no road to pass through the South East on a Monday and it almost me a huge loss.

Why are the Igbos in Lagos and other places not staying at home on Mondays and locking their shops if truly that is what they want?

No government wants to see it effort sabotaged and have chaos recorded throughout the tenure and if that drastic decision is not taken now, it becomes a norm.

That thing is not even projecting the image of Anambra to the world in good light.

Bringing up such a rule doesn't have to be in the constitution. There are Executive Orders which can be invoked by the highest authority whenever the situation demands.

kellyzaf:
Honestly you are a funny person I swear, now tell me does Soludo have any right whatsoever to lock up anybody's shop for not opening his or own personal business place on Monday's? So if you decide not to open your shop on Monday's and Someone that did not gave you a dime or contributed any dime for you to start up your business suddenly start to dictate for you when to open your own personal shop, will you say the person is right? Everything is not politics abeg
And if the rule says your shop must be opened on Mondays and you know that you can not cope with such rule, why not relocate to where you can open your shop any day you want, even if it's only once a week.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: A Lady Sparks Outrage Online Over Jobs & Earnings In Nigeria. What Is Your Take? by yemre: 10:11pm On Feb 15
The lady's assertion is not correct. She should have rather said that very few jobs can afford a brand new car on salaries alone.

Some people earn as much as 10m per month in this same Lagos. And I mean in salary. That is outside some other allowances, interval bonuses, PS etc.

The only incontestable fact is that the percentage of such jobs is quite small compared to the working population.

So, it's a case of less than 5% earning such an amount.
