You abandoned someone, divorced him and still monitor his life, haba! That is witchcraft ! Fear God na.

There is no tribe that you people have not abused and disparaged, yet you shout marginalization.

People are mourning their dead, yet you want to have opinion huh

The president and his family are giving necessary support and solidarity to the family of the former president, yet you derive joy in abusing both the current and former president's family.

In one breath, you curse and abuse buhari's. In another breath, you accused the president of wanting to inherit buhari's 12 million votes.

The same north you always abuse and disparaged...the same north you call bokoharam and bandits...you suddenly feel concerned about them.

So if Tinubu wants buhari's 12 million votes, how does that concern you huh After all, you hate every other tribes apart from yours.

Meanwhile, in all this mourning period, the only person who has used the opportunity for political gain is obi, when he approached bashir and asked him to support him in becoming a president! What a man!

You used the occasion of your visit to buhari's funeral to request for vote. Is God not wonderful cry

Meanwhile, the president and his family are doing what is expected of them to do - to honor the memory of the late former president, but obidients are using the occasion to abuse the north and the south west and the south south.

Even when it was glaring that it was obi that visited bashir and request vote from him and took pictures with him (he always go around with content creators), you people still abused bashir and left obi.

I wonder what you will do to yourself after Tinubu is sworn in 2027 huh

Everyone is waiting for Tinubu's second term inauguration on May 29, 2027, to decide your fate. Watch out.
The earlier they realize this, the better for them because there's no vacancy in Aso rock. In fact, they should go and prepare for 2038 because it will be the turn of the north in 2031. The north I know are seriously counting down to 2031 and no amount of begging for ticket can make them snooze.

One thing I want you to know is that Tinubu has held many positions before he became the president. Forget politics, congratulatory messages from his business associates and interests as well as political contemporaries are enough to shut down the channels but he doesn't brag.

Let me not bore you with that.

However, kindly note that we don't have to agree with these people's ideologies and we don't even have to like them because, individually, our perspectives differ and so our opinions.

But that will not take away the facts. Trust me, if you as a person become the president of Nigeria today, I will still state the facts I know about you and I will still recognize and clap at the good things you do even if I don't like you. That is me.

Look at Wike, I have my reservations about some things that concerns him but in spite of that, he remains my best minister today, followed by Olubunmi Ojo and Sen. Dave Umahi respectively.

ElevationD:
Do you really believe that Obi avoids primaries?
Are you not aware that LP held their primaries in 2022 and Obi became the candidate thereafter? Obi won the LP presidential primary, which took place on May 30 in Asaba, Delta state. The presidential primary that produced Obi was conducted by the Julius Abure-led faction of the party and observed by INEC.

LP had the same factionalisation issue in 2022. A certain Calistus Okafor led one faction. Are you aware? They held their own factional primaries that produced a certain Jude Ezenwafor, former chairman of LP in Anambra. This same group went to court against the then INEC recognized Abure faction. It was the same Abure that gave INEC the date for the conduct of their presidential primary which was slated to take place in Asaba. Abure faction won.

Do not forget that two people, namely Atiku and Wike, out of their selfish interests, pushed Obi away from PDP. Knowing that it was the turn of the South, particularly the SE in 2023, there was not basis for Atiku’s attempt, talk less of Wike. They forced him away from PPD and currently, they regret it.

As already stated by you, contestants are known to perform some emergency philanthropic assignments, just to secure the votes of citizens. However, this issue of paying delegates to secure votes, is a slap on the face of citizens. If the primaries are free, fair and credible, then the best and most acceptable candidate will always emerge.

Cheers.
Good one bro 👍

I like your perspective. But unfortunately, as far as politics in Nigeria is concerned, fairness hardly plays out, that is why the proverbial saying that "whatever belongs to you will sure come to you whether you ask for it or not " never applies in Nigeria.

I always told people that when discussing issues that concerns us as Africans or Nigerians, you must always consider that peculiarity. And unfortunately, in politics, only parties are recognized for elective positions. Therefore, for you to get the ticket, you must be the one presented by your party, which means, you must have paid the price in order to emerge as the flag bearer.

Remember what happened between Atiku and Wike. In fact, those who advised Peter Obi to join the coalition made a big mistake from the very start because he had no business there in the first place. I always consider the antecedents when it comes to politics in Nigeria.

Also consider the reason Ambode was not given a second term ticket in Lagos State.

Bros, let Obi be willing and ready to play the game (if truly he wants this presidential ticket) or just take the back seat (if he thinks the vampires would stop him from getting what belongs to him) because, in the first place, nothing belongs to anybody, whoever fights wins!

Despite that we all know that the South is supposed to do eight years before returning the power to the North (according to the unwritten agreement), if Tinubu sleeps and Atiku or any other northerner wins the general election, he will have no option than to handover to so whoever wins. Anything short of that will be an invitation to chaos and anarchy.

It's that simple.

So, let him fight for it. If he wins, good for him.

Agreed. But remember that democracy does not thrive in the atmosphere of bribery. If the last American Presidential primaries involved bribing delegates, Trump might not be the President today, even with the backing of Elon Musk. Primaries must be based on clear conscience and not by either coercion or bribery. That way we are able to get the best candidates as our leaders and not crooks who bribe their way to success, only to loot and destroy.
I agree with you 💯.

However, it doesn't take away the process. Instead of clamouring for the ticket as a gift, I'd rather prefer that you make cases for sanitization of the process. Also, this is politics, if you don't do it directly, you will do it indirectly, and I will give you instances.

1. Peter Obi has been going around, donating between 10m to 15m to institutions, empowering people and all that since the campaign for 2023 elections started. I will like you to tell me where he did such after he left the governorship seat in 2006.

He only saw the need for this to canvas for votes, indirectly, just the same way Atiku and Tinubu came thru for some states that experienced flooding and fire incidents in the build up to 2023 elections.

They do all these to be in the good books of the electorates.

This happens, not only in Nigeria but everywhere all over the world.

An adage says "he who is determined to eat from the honey hidden in the rocks will not mind the impacts on the digging tools".

If he wants the position, he must be ready to play the game because that's the only way he could prove his toughness and large heart.

Thank you.

But then, it will do South-South coalition members a lot of good if PO emerges as ADC Presidential candidate.
Many of those seeking to become Senators, House Members and Govs can have a good shot especially now that PDP is dead.

For instance, Tonye can easily win Rivers State Governor with Obi and Ameachi's support.
Emphasis on the word 'emerges'. For you to emerge politically, you must contest and defeat! Nothing like emergence without a contest, especially in politics. Therefore, if you're not contesting, you're not emerging. Presidential ticket is not a gift given on a platter of gold.

emkz:
If this is true, how come the order on her contempt is not binding that she appealed it?

According to the CTC released by the court, some points are reproduced below.

What the judge clearly said is that the suspension was excessive. She then advised the senate to utilize their own powers to review and amend the provisions of their own rules which she considered excessive and overreaching.

She finally said she believed the senate has the power to recall the plaintiff, and she believes they should do so. Please where is the specific order there? Let us express it commonsensically: "I believe Peter Obi has the power to amend his position from 2023. For balance, I am of the opinion that Peter Obi should amend his stand and deputize Atiku so that their merger will be optimum". Please is that an order binding on Peter Obi or a friendly advise that Peter Obi is not liable to take?

Natasha, try and resume please.

By the way, they asked her to publish an apology in two national dailies and Facebook. She has refused to do so.

Due to her stubbornness, she might spend that six months suspension and even more.

Senate suspended activities to honour Buhari. After that, they'd proceed on their two month vacation.

Natasha is incorrigible. Therein lies her fundamental issue.
Bros, well done. You spoke my mind. I have said this before. If care is not taken and if this issue is not handled with maturity in the interest of peace, especially from the side of Natasha, she will end up spending more time in suspension. Not all wrongs can be righted with violence. Some require diplomacy. As a lawyer and a senator, I expect her to be knowledgeable about these matters. Even her legal team are in a position to sit her down and explain all these to her, but I doubt if they would be willing to do that because they would want bigger money for proving their capability to follow through with this case to its logical conclusion.

I wrote this as a reply to you.

Yes, the court lacks the jurisdiction to question the Senate rule or legislative business for which the court absolutely did not interfere but as touching fundamental rights of a citizen, the constitution takes preeminence over any Senate rule and her lordship wasted no time in stating the obvious in clear terms.

It's a very simple judgement that shouldn't pose any difficulty interpreting.

Suspending a senator for six months is over reaching and a violation of her fundamental right and that of her constituents. Senate rule or no Senate rule, the suspension is null and void and a violation of section 63 of the constitution period!!!
Now I see where you are coming from. Kindly note that declaring the six-month suspension over-reaching does not necessarily mean it is null and void (unless it is expressly declared as null and void!). I think there is an issue with the respective definition of 'over-reaching here'. However, I know one thing for sure, they will sort it out, one way or the other.

The only issue I see here is that a seemingly minor internal issue, when not handled properly (or with some maturity), can spiral out of control, snowballing into a very big problem.

Thanks all the same.

You have no need to blame the judge simply because these are two parallel arms of the same government. And by the constitution, the judiciary cannot issue orders to the legislature.

The mistake here, which i think the plantiff made, was not exhausting the internal dispute resolution mechanism before running to the courts. The judge could only make suggestions (i lack the right word here) to reconsider the reinstatement of the suspended senator in the interest of peace and fairness (not justice), especially as the representation of the constitutiency is already caught up in the whole drama.
