You people are just so funny making noise everywhere on this platform. The first thing you have to ask yourself is whether ADC and LP has candidate in the election.
Secondly, just know that the presidential election is going to be a different ball game.
The kind of stunt that's so difficult to pull at the local level is what they think of pulling at the national level?

Haven't you heard that a good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow?

For those APC online úrchins mocking the ADC above, didn't you see no candidate was fielded by the ADC?!

The nomination of candidates by political parties and primaries occurred before and around the same time the Coalition was announced sometimes in March this year.

The few ADC you saw in some of the elections were the ones done by the old guards before the Coalition..

Oh ok. So is it that ADC is not present in Adamawa state or the new leaders of the coalition do not deem it necessary to begin their charity at home?

Good infrastructures take a lot of funds and time.
They are not shelves items you go to the store and pick up.
God bless you bro. They're not that smart. No foresight at all. Small thing, they run abroad because things are easy. Those things that are easy abroad a powered by infrastructure built by their governments of yesterday years.

In their own case, they prefer something they will eat today but forget that some generations of their children are coming tomorrow. So if it is not benefiting them now now, they're not interested.

They should just be patient for tinubu to finish his 8 years, and they will see the massive impact and legacies demand will live behind.

INTRODUCTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND OTHER MAJOR CHANGES IN NIGERIAN POLITICS

*He was the first gubernatorial candidate in Nigeria to legally challenge to its logical conclusion, his governorship electoral victory that was denied him. He won in the Courts and reclaimed his mandate.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to legally challenge his wrongful impeachment and was reinstated by the Courts.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to seek the interpretation of tenures of Governors when INEC allowed elections to take place in Anambra State when his tenure had not expired; the election already concluded was cancelled and he was allowed to complete his tenure.

*He was the first Governor to serve a 2nd term in both the new and old Anambra State, that is, almost 40 years after creation of the State.

*He was the first Governor, whilst still in Office, to be appointed a Special Adviser to the President.

*He was the first serving Governor to be appointed into the Presidential Economic Management Team.

*He was among the first Governors to be honoured with a National Award in 2011, while still in office.

*Though the only Governor whose political party was in government in only one State, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum twice.

*Though the only non-PDP Governor in the South-East (made up of 5 States), he was elected by the other 4 PDP Governors as their Chairman for 8 years rather than the usual one year.

FUNDAMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE (PARTIAL LISTING)

1. Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.

2. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United Stated, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.

3. Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.

4. He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.

5. The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.

6. The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.

7. The State's ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners - Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.

8. The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.
His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

11. His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. With complementary funding from our Government, they used the money to build 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres across the State, particularly in rural communities, in partnership with the Churches.

12. The State was the first to procure and distribute more than 30,000 computers to secondary schools, including 22,500 from HP. The Managing Director for Personal Systems Group HP Inc, Mr. FabriceCampoy described the deployment as the biggest of such projects in the Middle-East and Africa.

13. Anambra State Government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools, which the Head of Microsoft in Nigeria (Mr. Ken Span) described as the biggest such deployment in Africa so far.

14. The State provided Internet access to more than 500 secondary schools, which the CEO of Galaxy Backbone (Mr. Gerald Ilukwe) characterized as incomparable to any in the country.

15. More than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the State by our Government.

16. Boreholes were provided in schools all over the State.

17. Numerous classrooms were built in all the 177 communities of the State.

18 As part of the efforts to turn around the economy of the State, a number of companies were attracted to build their facilities in the Anambra State. A case in point is SABMiller, the 2nd largest brewery in the world, which built their first Green Field facility in the State, which is today one of the most successful facilities they operate globally.

19. A number of other companies followed the SABMiller initiative and were all supported and encouraged under our Government; a good example is INNOSON Motor Manufacturing Company, from which our government bought more than 1,000 vehicles.

20. Anambra State for the first time started close collaboration with recognized government security agencies (the Police, Army, Navy, Department of State Security, Civil Defence, among others), offering them various types of support including provision of more than 500 security vehicles. The improvement in security was phenomenal, such that the former IG of Police (Abubakar Mohammed) lauded Anambra State for not witnessing any bank robbery in my last three years in office.

21. To further enhance security, Anambra State provided at least one security vehicle to each of all the 177 communities in the State as well as various organizations such as markets and Churches.

22. His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka.

23. His Government commenced the planned development of the Igbariam Campus of the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu-Ojukwu University, including the fencing, construction of internal roads, electrification, construction of the Faculty of Law, Auditorium, Administrative Block, Faculty of Agriculture, Management Building, among others).

24. His Government attracted the World Bank support on erosion - National Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) - to Anambra State.

25. His Government was the first to do Poverty Mapping in Nigeria, as a guide for the effective implementation of our poverty-alleviation strategies.

26 His Government, for the first time, undertook the aerial mapping of Awka as well as the production of Structure Plans for Awka Capital Territory, Onitsha and Nnewi.

27. During his tenure and with his Government's support, Anambra State became an oil producing State.

28. He built the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were hitherto scattered around the State.

29. His government commenced the development of the 'Three Arms Zone' comprising Government House/Governor’s Lodge, Legislative Building/Speakers Residence, and Judiciary Building with Chief Judge’s Residence.

30. By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than twelve (12) health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation; when we took off in 2006, no health institution in Anambra State was duly accredited.

31. Anambra State was the first to undergo national peer review, which scrutinised State Governments for good governance, through the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM), an initiative of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the DFID.
Wonderful!

I went through all these looking for just a few things but couldn't find any! It's a long list of personal achievements with no substance!!

He never built any infrastructure from the scratch that could be said was built by his administration. He never built schools, roads, hospitals, nothing!

It was all "I held this position, I held that position! I was a chairman here, I was director there." But no impact whatsoever!!

Nigeria as a country doesn't need that kind of a leader. At least, he could see his counterparts in Lagos. Right from Tinubu, to Fashola, Ambode, Sanwoolu, successively, they were all busy doing projects and adding to existing infrastructures and each and every project could be traced to each of them.

You think they don't know how to just visit schools with cameras and making 10million Naira donations to each of them, claiming it's because they're saving money?

I no wan talk abeg.

indeed. let us see how he is doing it.

Lagos-Calabar Highway Costs 7 times more per km than Pan-African Cairo-Cape town route.

1. Nigeria’s Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a 700 km highway.

Budget: $11–13 billion

2. Cairo-Cape Town Highway, a 10,228 km Cairo-Cape Town Highway

Budget: $1.65 billion
Actually I was supposed to have let this slide but I won't.

If you are comparing issues, try as much as possible to use reasonable basis to compare.

The construction of Cairo Cape Town started in 1971 . This means that the budget was made before then. Besides, the so-called project is not yet completed till today - 54 years after.

Is that the kind of project you want?

How do you even compare a 1971 project to 2025. Who does that?

This Lagos Calabar coastal highway will be completed and delivered on schedule. And we will use it and even pay toll to the shame of all the people who never saw this economically valuable project as anything good.

Same with this speed rail.

Tinubu is trying everything possible to ensure he leaves an unprecedented developments at the end of his 8 year tenure. I pray this project is completed and delivered on schedule and I also pray that the next president coming after continues from wherever he stops so that this development can go round all the regions.

That way, the upcoming generation can come to meet a well civilized and developed country they can proudly call their own.

PlasmaTV:
Interestingly, posts have come up accusing that particular hostess of hostility and rudeness.

I fly internationally and "flight mode" is okay. Why insist on putting off your phone?
The lady didn't put off her phone at first because she claimed her power button had a fault. Someone helped her to put it off.

Tell me why she was physically blocked from deplaning by that same air hostess? Besides, why didn't the hostess allow her to deplane and then let security arrest her?

You speak about abiding with rules. Did KWAM abide with the rules when he allegedly poured alcohol on a crew member? Was he detained? Banned for life? Arrested? Stripped?

Oh, you think the lady just started causing a frenzy? What happened off camera? Do we know?
That lady deserves financial compensation. Heavy one. She was deliberately stripped and her naked body was posted online for everyone to see. That is injustice.

Rule of law - one for all, one for all.

Btw - the NBA stands with Miss Comfort. Let's see how it will play out.
Boss, I am not justifying the stripping of the lady. It's all shades of wrong. This kind of chaos should have been preempted as a possibility and civil ways of dealing with such established.

Meanwhile, also note that the stripping was completely unintentional, which is the reason I would still blame her for bringing that shame upon herself. She was not the only one in the plane for the air hostess to have singled her out for harassment. Also, imagine that those airport security men were like just two men in military uniform, she would not be assaulted but would she have complied or not?

Obeying the simple instruction would have prevented the ugly incident . Also note that emotions has no place in law. Before the lady was prosecuted and remanded, an exhaustive investigation would have been made and it would have been established that she went overboard.

The simple lesson here is that we should learn to comport ourselves anywhere we find ourselves. It's that simple. If she was not guilty, all the people who dragged her out of the plane would have all been rounded off by now because she was a passenger aboard that aircraft and the duty of care still subsisted as of then.

A lady was told to put her phone off. She put it on airplane mode. The hostess said she must turn it off. The lady declined.

The hostess, upon landing in Lagos, blocked the way and didn't allow the lady deplane.
In the course of the scuffle, the lady was stripped naked and her video posted online for millions of people to see.

There is ZERO defense for that, my good man. They have ridiculed that woman.
That is not the exact story.

In the first place, nothing stops you from adhering to rules of an institution you find yourself at any point in time, no matter how highly placed.

Asking people to turn off their phones is for safety reasons and I believe every right thinking person understands that. In our little space most times, we communicate on phone and when there's interference of any sort, it disrupts our conversation and miscommunication happens in the process. How much more the instruction to do sth temporary for a smooth takeoff or landing of an airplane, of which she's also a passenger. All these would not last beyond 3mins.

The lady in jail as of now would have avoided all these if she had obeyed the simple rule, "turn off your phone"!

This became an issue between her and the air hostess and the next thing she started throwing slaps all around! Even the airport security personnel were not spared, these were the people she's probably never even met before. haba!

That only projects her ignorance and bad manners in the public space and I'm sure her family members would not be proud of that. Besides, if the airport security were military officers, I'm sure she wouldn't have dared.

Lastly, the lady in question was not privy to experiences of the crew members on that particular aircraft. So, obeying simple instructions would have been honourable.

If people don't understand this matter, honestly I don't know how else to explain it.

Even you, I'm sure you would not have done that if you were the lady!

I hope it's clearer now.
PoliticsRe: Ibom Air Assault Case Not Same As KWAM 1 Incident, Says NCAA by yemre: 2:22pm On Aug 12, 2025
This is not even debatable. One assaulted the air hostess and the airport security men who came to restrain her. She went as far as pulling off a fire extinguisher as a weapon, endangering the lives of all the people present. What impact does she know that the action can have at that point in time both to the aircraft to the people around?

The lady is a fighter and she needs to be dealt with. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but KWAM 1 did not commit the same crime that the lady committed. Period!

Anybody that wants to justify the lady's action should also board an aircraft and try it so we can check something.

All this talk ontop 200k loan.

Poverty is a disease really.
I don't have a response for you. I already know where you're coming from and we don't have to reason at the same wavelength.

.

You never ask, why dis government is about loan, loan and loan, but you are condemning somebori wey express is frustration. Ahbeg is dere no more freedom of speech?
Of course there is freedom of speech but it has to be with an open mind. This is a credit scheme targeted at the youth to encourage productivity.

For crying out loud, we all know that an average fresh graduate has potentials, has ideas on what to do even while going into the labour market.

It has never happened in this country before, for a government to unveil a single -digit credit scheme and extend it to the youth corp members without collateral or guarantor.

It is also a known fact that the number of qualified graduates far outweighs the available jobs and I can tell you for free that majority of these people have one skill or the other that can actually help them achieve their dreams.

Now that the government has realized this and come up with a solution, the first thing somebody could say is "the government is about loans, loans, loans!".

That is unfair.

If he was a fresh graduate and has a skill that he just needs a little push to start something, he wouldn't say that.

You don't have to discredit every effort of the government. If there are things that are yet undone, call their attention to those things and make separate cases for them.

Thank you

Its confirmed now that this government is not ready for meaningful development......what is 200k in this bad economy
na wa for these haters o!

You people will never appreciate anything. Something is just being introduced to even include the young corpers with fresh ideas and skills with burning desire and fresh out of school and you are here criticizing it. You lack ideas to turn little resources into something meaningful to better your life, then shift and allow those that need the money genuinely apply for it and if after appraisal, they are qualified, let them get it.

The fact that you don't need it doesn't mean others don't.

I hate nonsense!!!

I will respond to you in due course. Right now I have issues with my glasses and I can’t really see clearly. I will respond after fixing my glasses. I won’t allow this misinformation slide unchallenged.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I am here for you. Today is Saturday and I'm free! So, fix your glasses and bring it on and challenge my misinformation (with facts). As I will only respond to my narrative countered only with facts.

Mind you, no one is saying it's perfect as there'll always be some things that still needs to be fixed. But the ones he has fixed in two years, counter them with facts for all of us on Nairaland to see.

Thank you.

I don’t understand what you guys meant by this statement “ There's inflation all over the world and the world can not be stagnant”. In a sane country when the prices of goods rise, the government will adjust the minimum wage to be able to accommodate the inflation or provide subsidies in the essential commodities like food and health. Pls tell me one thing that Nigerians enjoy as a citizen of this country under Tinubu government, just one thing.
Very good.

FYI, minimum wage in 2006 was 3,000 but today it is 70,000. As for subsidies, the government has, before now, heavily subsidized petrol but got tired when it was abused by the so called elite, who imported fuel, got the subsidy differentials from the government and still moved the fuel to other African countries for sale at exorbitant rates, thereby, shortchanging the masses and creating undue fuel scarcity and making the people to suffer for something that had already been subsidized by the government.

Why do you think the other countries like Benin Republic and Cameroon do not pay subsidy?

In exchange, Tinubu came, removed the subsidy and channeled the excess into massive infrastructural development. We have not witnessed massive infrastructural development like this in decades.... and his government is just two years old.

He empowered your state governors by multiplying their monthly allocation for the benefit of their states and people but you people would not even look in that direction. It is Tinubu. He also triggered grassroots development by pushing for Local Government Autonomy and their allocations paid directly to their LG accounts but you people will still not hold your local government chairmen accountable.

Yet, you guys would keep claiming that you've never seen anything Tinubu government has done.

The stock market and it's players are there smiling to the bank and thanking God for emergence of Tinubu as the president.

If by now, even in just two years, you still haven't seen anything he's done, then, I don't know what to tell you.

So also is 100k in 2006 cannot buy what 8k can buy in 1987.

In1990, a 50k bag of rice cost N350.

In 2006, a 50kg bag of rice in Nigeria cost ₦6,000.

In 2025,a 50k bag of rice cost N70,000.
Let us do the maths.

6000 divided by 350 gives ~ 17.

70,000 divided by 6000 gives ~ 11.6= 12(approx)

Comparing the two with the space of 16 and 19 years,Tinubu has done better because price went up 17 times in 1990 (space of 16 years to 2006) even with the fraudulent Fuel Subsidy.

In 2025,with the removal of the fraudulent Fuel Subsidy, price only went up approximately,12 times (and things are still coming down exponentially, we pray)

Kudos to President Tinubu for having gotten the gut to make these hard decisions that brings prosperity to Nigerians soonest..
You are so smart and intelligent.

Some people just make comparison without considering the real facts. There's inflation all over the world and the world can not be stagnant. A nursing course that used to cost $10k just two years ago is $35k as of today.

I do tell people, prices of things will never come down in this country, we are the ones that will keep up with the ride. Else, we'll be left behind.

What we buy for 10k today will be worth nothing less than 100k in the next 15 years or so. It's just the reality.
