SenatorCharles1:So, now you expect that the court would summon the Senate to appear before it, right? Oga, go back to school 😂😂😂 |
SenatorCharles1:I hope you know that there is a difference between a declaration and an order! For your information, the Judiciary and Legislature are two of the three parallel arms of the government. And as such, the court lacks the power to give an order to the legislative arm of the government. The lawyers in the house should correct me if I'm wrong. |
syntekelite:Thank you very much for this. I just wonder why our generation always think that making trouble is the only way out of certain circumstances. In this life, many times, life happens, you encounter unexpected issues of this nature, you just thank God for your life, count your losses and move on. I pray he takes the advice of people like you. |
Those of you encouraging this guy to get a lawyer and sue the landlord, you need to fear God! I am not encouraging lawlessness and/or intimidation here but you can only toe that path if you have a plan B and are that buoyant and ready for a showdown. Imagine waking up on a Sunday morning and a bulldozer has pulled down half of the house! Before help would come, it might be Monday and the damage would have been done already, even if you would later get some compensation through the court. And of course, it's not automatic! Besides, don't be too confident that the law would always be on your side. Facts is your rent expires October but they came to inform you of the sale in April (six months earlier), gave you half of your rent (which you accepted and kept with you) and gave you a 3 months notice. Were you expecting a full refund and a longer notice? Even if you choose to go to court now, the court would ask you of the legal steps you took when all these were happening that you had to wait till almost the end of the quit before acting! In my own opinion, get the new landlord to give you some more time to look for an alternative accomodation, citing all other associated charges as reasons. With this, you will most likely get the sympathy of the new landlord to extend your tenancy. In Ebute-Metta in those days when all the old houses were being bought over, the new Landlords recognized all these issues and usually gave the existing tenants some money to help in getting alternative accomodation after the quit notice. With that, not much of those tenants had reasons to stay beyond the expiration of the quit. So, bro, approach the new landlord (if you have access to him) or your old landlord to reach a compromise! My two cents. |
asfrank:Bro, you are very right on this. Should I say that our state governors are not trying on this or do I even blame the federal government through the National Orientation Agency for not singing all these interventions as songs into our people's ears? Even if they do, our people, resolving already never to see nothing good in what the Federal Government is doing, would still not appreciate anything or channel their criticisms and grievances to the appropriate quarters. I remember somebody on this same nairaland weeks ago claiming that all these monies the Federal Government has given to the States for development are not really for development but bribes and to grease their palms so that they would keep approving him to continue as the president. Majority of our people are economic illiterates. They will come out in the public blowing grammar and spewing hate rubbish rather than focus on what matters and air their opinion constructively by making cases for things that are yet to be done. We all should learn to look inwards and ask our governors and local government chairmen questions and let's see if they will still direct us to the Federal Government after we already have the information that they have been paid all these humongous intervention billions. |
Interestingly, majority of all these people making all these outrageous comments against the sitting president are the aggressive nonentities. Who has noticed that no respected member of the society has ever made such comments, despite not aligning with the ruling party/president's political ideologies. They know the implications and they even know that it's even morally wrong. But these people, thinking they can always hide behind the keyboard and their phones just because they have data on their phone, would always be the ones doing all these. I've always said one thing! You are free to express yourselves and your opinions matter too, but do it objectively and constructively. If you choose to do it with hate and bad intentions, I can only pray that the government doesn't have your time. If they ever do, you will regret the day you bought that phone and would even wish you never had a phone to start with. In conclusion, I wish everyone of you whatever you wish yourself. |
No problem. The law of reciprocity applies here! The positions occupied by the Igbos in Lagos should first be reciprocated in the East. We have seen the vice chairmen and commissioner of Igbo extraction here, do that same thing in an Eastern state and take it a step further by appointing a Yoruba man a Local Government chairman and let's see if Lagos will not double it for you. This is doable but you must take the lead! |
SouthSouth1914:You might be very correct here but shouldn't there be an indicator that the switch was off or something not right being an airplane? Afterall, we have cars that have sensors that trigger some forms of alarm or signals if anything is not yet activated. However, I doubt if it has anything to do with the maintenance crew! It's not the job of a mechanic, for instance, to check if your car bonnet is properly closed before you take off. That's the last minute check responsibility of the driver of the car. Anyways, only God knows what actually happened and I pray that God forgive the departed, heal their families and protect the living. |
Politicstoday:He's actually been working on that before now and I'm sure this might be his golden opportunity. Since Atiku is already in another party I don't think the remaining bigwigs in the party are interested, I see him being the most likely flag bearer. |
So, what majority of the people on this platform are saying is that if you have nothing meaningful doing and are gifted 1m, you would say that the money can not start anything meaningful! Right? Some even mentioned forex, ah! It is well. Young man, all you need do is ask yourself a few questions and answer them truthfully. With this, you know yourself, your reality and what you can do based on your reality. A business that a single man living in a remote area with that amount can not be tried by a married man with 2 children with the same amount. Think deeply and look inwards. The business suitable for you might even been around you. Think of a challenge people face in that area and look for means to solve them, investing about 60% of that money in the process and keep the balance as back up. I wish you the very best. |
So, where was his personal integrity and disciplined public image since 2003 that he's been contesting? Why has he not been able to win elections on his own? I'm not surprised tho, that's human beings for you. |
I foresaw this and was just telling someone yesterday when I saw him on a billboard that this is the most likely next governor of Ogun State after seyi abiodun |
One even told me that he doesn't want a moslem in her house. I said, ma, I'm a Christian. She then said, you must be a worker in your church and you must also give me the phone number of your pastor. So that when you offend me, I won't even argue with you, I will call your pastor. That's rule no 1. No. 2, I close my gate at 10pm. If you're not in this compound before 10pm, just sleep wherever you are. No. 3. Your guest can not knock at my gate. They must just call you when they get here because they will be disturbing the neighbors. In a nutshell, I allowed her to finish reading out all her rubbish. Then, I just responded by saying "ma, don't bother, I will look elsewhere. I just know that I've not got a house"! She said, what do you mean you're no longer interested, then I said, agent, pls just open the gate for me before I insult this woman! She was just looking at me and I drove out!!! |
Some enemies of progress will always criticize this kind of infrastructural investments. Meanwhile, just ask them where they want to go next, they would tell you UK or US or Canada. But they forgot that the same countries they aspire to go able to attract the kinds of heavy and healthy investments and environments they have just because they invested heavily in infrastructure. I have nothing to say than just pity them because they have six more years to gnash their teeth. It's that simple. |
This is a very simple matter. If Peter Obi is truly the only acceptable candidate, he should show that right from the primaries! Or are you people afraid ni? Why the call for one to step down for the other? |
Bimpe29:And why should Alh. Atiku Abubakar step down? This is a position he has contested for more than 20 years and now he has built a coalition and all you could demand is to take the back seat in his own coalition? I think you are not being fair! |
emkz:God bless you for this comment bro. I have asked this question much earlier, when Atiku and El-Rufai were going all around, canvassing for support here and there, Peter Obi was just looking and never said anything as if he was not interested. But I knew he was eventually going to show interest after all the groundwork must have been done and momentum gathered, only for him to come out recently and say that he had always been with the coalition from the very beginning and he even attended all meetings! I was shocked but not surprised tho. I'm very sure none of his obidients was privy to this but trust them, there's nothing their principal has ever said or done that's ever wrong! That is by the way. The fact remains that Peter Obi and the Obidients are so afraid of a free and fair primaries to emerge the preferred candidate in his chosen coalition. But they're the first to claim that they won in a general election even when records showed that he came third. Obidients are the ones always clamouring for a free and fair election, so they should start from home! Or do they want to smuggle him in through the backdoor? I remember some of his supporters even saying he should go and beg Atiku to allow him! You can not reap where you did not sow. If you know that you truly deserve this and that you and your supporters can make you the best candidate, go to field and compete for the ticket like everyone else! Or would you be happy if President Tinubu is just declared the winner of the election on sympathetic grounds? In as much as you don't want that to happen, kindly do the needful. |
This is a good one. People must learn to mind their utterances and reduce hate speech. No one is saying you can't criticize but do that with an open mind and objective reasoning |
Hmmm....this PO's statement here is highly political! He didn't expressly state that he would not be a running mate to anybody. He only said that "that is not in play, nobody has ever discussed that with him. People only assumed" (if I quoted him correctly). Technically, I take it to mean that if it is discussed with me, I might consider it provided we have a good chance to win! Again, a vibrant member of LP and a active member of ADC all in one election - presidential...and same position in the two parties in one day!!! Maybe Nigeria will be the first country to ever experience this because I've never heard of that in the world history. What an interesting time ahead......... It's an interesting season film. |
SalamRushdie:Better pick up a telescope and start looking for it. Even if you can't see, at least, you have the ears and you are not deaf! All the Wike's projects being commissioned by Tinubu for weeks now, us it you that have been funding them. Silence can be golden if you have nothing meaningful to write. |
PDPdestroyer:And that one position will be divided amongst the seven figures |
Igbe lenu fendor with this your throwback this, throwback that. |
I just love this man. Wike na man you be. This is one of the real politicians we have in this country. Always very consistent and firm. Let anybody say whatever they like. He has always proven that he's not the kind of politician you can bamboozle with your rumors and unverified narratives. He gave it to Seun hot hot 🔥🔥🔥 2031 VP and 2039 presidential candidate. Hate him all you like, it changes nothing! |
Well, I'm not surprised! Mr. Peter Obi is just busy playing hide and seek even for his own followers!. Aisha and Morris coming out to say this is also not surprising because only those with same and similar characters can move/work together! I will only be surprised if LP accepts him back into the party and still fields him as the party flag bearer after he openly declared his pioneer membership of the coalition and the party on which platform he intends to run in 2027. As for the Obidients, they are not even helping their principal! None of them has the gut to face him and tell him the truth. How on earth does a goalkeeper man the two goalposts in a single football match? It would have made a lot of sense if he had even registered his own party and carried his obidients along but no! He wants a party founded, funded and maintained by another group of people whose presidential ticket would be handed over to him on a platter of gold. Does that mean that the owners of the party are not interested in having one of their members become the president? Hmmm.... Let me just stop and look. |
Whosoever takes this one seriously is the most gullible. Just allow him do or say whatever he likes. The people like him will believe him. |
Bro, you really dealt with this topic. Look around and see the caliber of people that say and believe this statement, a vivid analysis of their situation and thinking already reflects reasons why they came up with that conclusion. Some people hardly had the time to do an in-depth analysis of issues before arriving at a conclusion and that is why we need to properly guide our younger generation so as not to bring in this kind of mentality. I was almost a victim too but my rebellious nature at the time liberated me. That's a story for another day. In a nutshell, I love your exhaustive analysis and recommendations. It's just the way to go. |
I know that some cultures permit it (even here in Nigeria) and it's not in my place to either approve or condemn it. I once read about a former CJN who married his own first cousin and even confirmed that his own parents were cousins! Also, there's someone I know, personally, who married his own cousin! Tho, this particular one was not intentional according to him. It's because the two of them didn't know until they've gone really far in the relationship and even had kids. Tho, he's already in his 60s now and he told me that anytime any of his children beings any potential spouse home, he would personally conduct an investigation to ensure that the child doesn't make the same mistake. As for me, where I come from, let it be seventh or tenth cousin, it is an abomination. No family member will even allow it or even take you seriously if you ever contemplate that. I've never even had it before! |
GothamCities:As for me, I'm not surprised one bit. It's their slogan. There's no positive change you bring that they ever appreciate. Even if you kill yourself for them, they would still complain that you were supposed to do that on a Sunday. Their hatred follows them everywhere they go. Notwithstanding, Tinubu does not give a damn. He's doing everything possible to correct all the wrongs and leave the country better and a 21st century compliant. Haters can continue hating but unfortunately this is just the second year. Six more years to go. |
helinues:Oh yes! That's exactly what they were expecting and I told them even before PO decided to join the coalition 🤣🤣. But the moment PO came out to claim that he had always been with the coalition from the very beginning and attended all meetings, I was shocked and just looking. He's written and forwarded a proposal to the coalition to allow him to first for only one term. Let's see how it goes but I'm sure the primaries will shape things up and we'll see the true colours of the individual players. We're supposed to be learning from antecedents but no! My people will never learn! |
Funkymode:Lies! I'm not from Lagos but I can tell you for free that the statistics is correct 💯. That doesn't mean there are no illiterates in Lagos but are very few. And the influx of people both locally and internationally actually contributed to that. Also , an average lagosian would rather travel abroad to seek greener pasture than travel within. This is because Lagos, as of today, remains the most developed state in Nigeria. Forget that Abuja is the federal capital, Lagos has the largest economy and infrastructure!. As for academics, I give it to Anambra but our igbo brothers have this enterprise nature in their DNA. So, they'll rather do business and import containers of goods for sell to be more comfortable than live their whole life answering yes sir in one sector. North is still redeemable. Yes, it is. Their leaders need to really come together to help their youth so they narrative can be changed. This is the kind of change I had expected people like Alh. Atiku to bring about and he has the opportunity and the authority to do it (if he really wants to). |
madridguy:I really wish the northern leaders could use the same energy they use in encouraging Arabic education for Western education, trust me, the north will grow faster because they have the numbers and a greater number will contribute to the development of the region |
