Education / Why The Strike? We Have Kept Our Promises To ASUU – FG by YHYson: 2:08pm On Dec 09, 2020
The minister of labour and employment Dr. Chris Ngige yesterday revealed that the agreement they had with ASUU was for the union to call off the strike before 9th December 2020.

The indefinite strike embarked by ASUU has gone a little over nine months and still counting. With the current stance of the Federal Government and the union, one can say the calling off of the strike is not anywhere in sight.

ASUU has gone to the table several times with FG since the strike began to discuss their terms for calling off the strike but there haven’t been any positive change as the strike continues.

On the 27th of November FG and ASUU had agreed to end the strike as FG promised to remit the sum of N70 billion to the union for the revitalization funds and Earned Academic Allowances.

On Sunday 6th December in an interview with The Nation ASUU National President Prof Biodun Ogunyemi said that they were still consulting but certainly, before the end of this week, they would report to the minister of labor the findings and feedback from their members.

But there seem to be divisions among members of the union as some are calling for the end of the strike while others are asking the FG to pay the full N70 billion before they return to class.

In the interview, the union President also revealed that for a smooth process the FG should pay the salaries of its members as the agreement between them had timelines.

In response to the comments from the ASUU President the minister of labour Ngige said that FG had kept its promises to the union as things are being put in place for the payment of the money.

He made this revelation in a statement from his media office on Tuesday, titled, ‘We have kept our promises to ASUU – FG.’

“The truth of the matter is that a ‘gentleman agreement’ was reached at the last meeting in which ASUU agreed to call off the strike before December 9, 2020, and the minister, in turn, agreed that once the strike is called off, he would get a presidential waiver for ASUU to be paid the remainder of their salaries on or before December 9,”

He continued: “The N40b Earned Academic Allowances have also been processed just as the N30bn revitalization funds, bringing it to N70bn.
“Likewise, the visitation panels for the universities have been approved by the President but the panel cannot perform its responsibilities until the shut universities are re-opened.

“The gazetting is also being rounded off at the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation while the Ministry of Education is ready to inaugurate the various visitation panels.”

He revealed that: “they were paid for February and March, after which it was extended to April, May, and June, months they were on strike on compassionate ground, bringing it to five months.”

The statement added, “Asking the government to pay these four months before it goes back to work means ASUU is placing itself above the law of the land and no government will encourage it as it is a recipe for chaos in the labor milieu.”

In the meanwhile, the President of the nation President Mohammadu Buhari gave his comments on the strike as he labeled ASUU as being selfish saying that they are not considering the problems facing the whole country.

He said this through his media adviser: “Government conceded something. The problem is that they refused to look at the problem of the whole country. The Minister of Labour is working hard at it. It is amazing how ASUU will stay out of classrooms for so long. There’s a need for our elite to understand the challenges facing the country.”

Foreign Affairs / Joe Biden Is Officially The 46th President Of The United States. by YHYson: 2:29pm On Dec 05, 2020
The result of the American November 3rd election has been debated for weeks. But it has been certified that Joe Biden is officially the 46th President of the United States of America.

Though Trump and his legal team are yet to accept the validity of the election result as many of their lawsuits hover in court, The Associated Press called the election results for Joe Biden’s yesterday.

The election victory was announced after California certified its presidential election and appointed 55 electors who pledged to vote for Democrat Joe Biden, officially handing him the Electoral College majority needed to win the White House.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla’s formal approval of Biden’s win in the state brought his tally of pledged electors so far to 279, according to a tally by The Associated Press.

Even though Colorado, Hawaii, and New Jersey where Joe Biden won are yet to certify their election results. Biden has already exceeded the 270 electoral college vote needed.

Although it’s been apparent for weeks that Biden won the presidential election, his accrual of more than 270 electors is the first step toward the White House, said Edward B Foley, a law professor at Ohio State University.

“It is a legal milestone and the first milestone that has that status,” Foley said. “Everything prior to that was premised on what we call projections.”

The electors named will meet on Friday, Dec. 14, along with counterparts in each state, to formally vote for the next president.

Most states have laws binding their electors to the winner of the popular vote in their state, measures that were upheld by a Supreme Court decision this year. There have been no suggestions that any of Biden’s pledged electors would contemplate not voting for him.

The Democratic-controlled House and Republican-controlled Senate would both vote separately to resolve any disputes. One has already arisen from Pennsylvania, where 75 Republican lawmakers signed a statement on Friday urging Congress to block the state’s electoral votes from being cast for Biden.

But the state’s Republican US senator, Pat Toomey, said soon afterward that he would not be objecting to Pennsylvania’s slate of electors, underscoring the difficulty in trying to change the election results through Congress.

“As a practical matter, we know that Joe Biden is going to be inaugurated on January 20,” Foley said.

Trump and his allies have also raised the far-fetched notion that Republican state legislatures in those states could appoint a rival set of electors pledged to Trump.

But state Republican leaders have rejected that approach, and it would likely be futile in any case. According to federal law, both chambers of Congress would need to vote to accept a competing slate of electors. If they don’t, the electors appointed by the states’ governors – all pledged to Biden in these cases – must be used.

The last remaining move to block the election would be the quixotic effort to vote down the electors in Congress.

This tactic has been tried – a handful of congressional Democrats in 2000, 2004, and 2016 objected to officially making both George W Bush and Trump president. But the numbers were not enough to block the two men from taking office.
Foreign Affairs / Adolf Hitler Wins Election In Namibia by YHYson: 5:44pm On Dec 04, 2020
Namibian politician, Adolf Hitler Uunona has won a seat in the regional election in Namibia by a landslide margin. He won the election amassing 85% votes.

Adolf Hitler Uunona who prefers to be called Adolf Uunona has been elected as the councilor of the Ompundja constituency. He contested under the ruling South West AfricaSWAPO Occasion of Namibia.

He garnered 1,196 votes, in comparison with 213 forged for his opponent, and secured a seat at a governing council of the Oshana area.

The Ompundja constituency, which he represents, has lower than 5,000 residents and has long been thought of as a SWAPO stronghold.

Uunona informed the German tabloid Bild that not like his infamous namesake, he harbors no ambition for world domination, and even for the conquest of Oshana.

He told German tabloid paper Bild: “My father named me after this man. He probably didn’t understand what Adolf Hitler stood for. As a child, I saw it as a totally normal name. Only as a teenager did I understand that this man wanted to conquer the whole world.”

He stated he often goes by Adolf Uunona and that it will be too late for him by now to vary his title.

Namibia was a German colony from 1884, however, following the First World War the League of Nations mandated South Africa to administer the territory. It is located on the southwestern coast of Africa with its capital in Windhoek. It gained independence on March 21, 1990.

After winning the seat on the ticket of the ruling SWAPO party – which has ruled Namibia since independence from apartheid South Africa in 1990 – the politician told Bild that he had ‘nothing to do with’ Nazi ideology.

‘My father named me after this man. He probably didn’t understand what Adolf Hitler stood for,’ his namesake said.

‘As a child, I saw it as a totally normal name. Only as a teenager did I understand that this man wanted to conquer the whole world.'
Business / Business Guide: How To Start A Profitable Business In 2021 by YHYson: 2:38pm On Nov 30, 2020
Starting a business as an entrepreneur can be super easy when you put much passion and determination into it. A business is expected to grow when it is nurtured, just like a plant that needs good soil, good seed, water, and sunlight to grow. All these requirements are essential for the breeding of the plant.

Some years back, in 1994 to be precise an entrepreneur started a business that nobody knew about at that time in his garage, the business was that of solving the problem of going to physical stores to get books that you could get online from his online bookstore.

It took the entrepreneur some good ideas which were his good soil, capital which was his good seed, the determination which was the water, and passion which was his sunlight to get the business moving, the commitment was his manure. After some years his business became number one in the world and he is currently the richest man in the world. How on earth could he achieve all these? the answer is he started a business.

Warren Buffett once said: “you only have to do a few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things” So if you want to become financially independent and stable in life, business is one of the right things to delve into. Don’t be afraid of failure by not taking a risk. “Risk-takers takes the world” – anonymous

Most people who rely on salary can no longer make a good living as they did 10 years ago because of the rising cost of living and increased bills. Believe me, it will never come back to normal. Living off your salary is like locking the door to your financial independence and stability.

An opportunity they say, come but once and that’s all you need, that business opportunity banging on your door, ringing a bell to your spirit and waiting for you to open to it and catch it. The ball is in your court, Serve.

Religion / St Andrew’s Day: 7 Key Facts About St Andrew by YHYson: 2:00pm On Nov 30, 2020
Today, Monday 30 November is St Andrew’s Day which coincided with Cyber Monday day. Little was said of St Andrew in the Bible. In this article, we expose some key facts about St Andrew.

Who was Saint Andrew?

Apostle Andrew, also called Saint Andrew, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. He is the brother of Saint Peter(Luke 6:14). Apostle Andrew was born between AD 5 and AD 10 in the village of Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee.

The New Testament states that Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter, and likewise a son of John, or Jonah. Both he and his brother Peter were fishermen by trade, hence the tradition that Jesus called them to be his disciples by saying that he will make them “fishers of men.”

Scotland celebrates St Andrew’s Day on Monday, with a bank holiday and festivities across the country.
Politics / Breaking : Finally ASUU Reaches Agreement With FG To Call Off Strike by YHYson: 2:18am On Nov 28, 2020
ASUU had locked horns with the Federal Government for over 8 month with several meetings not yielding any positive result. ASUU met with the FG yesterday Friday 27 November, 2020 for a final resolution of their differences.

Few days back the ASUU committee had asked it members to deliberate on whether the strike should be called off or not for the 65 billion naira the FG agreed to pay and the old payment method it agreed to use from it last meeting with her.

Majority of ASUU branches came up with motion to continue the strike until the FG had paid it full arears. ABU agreed on the 40 billion proposed for the Earned Academic Allowances but made a statement that the money be paid before the strike is called off.

Federal university of Petroleum Resources(FUPRE) said that negotiations must be completed before the strike should be called off.

University of Agriculture, Makurdi(UAM) ASUU chapter voted for a continuation of the strike saying that all salaries and sundry allowances must be paid before a calling off of the strike should be considered.

The ASUU chapter of UNILORIN led by it chairman, Professor Moyosore Ajoa said they are in alignment with the ASUU national body.

With all the ASUU branches resolve, yesterday’s meeting was held in high anticipation to an unknown outcome but after the meeting the FG pledge to pay the sum of N40 billion for Earned Academic Allowances and N30 billion for the revitalization of the university system bringing the total payment to N70 billion which was accepted by ASUU.

The FG further agreed to settle the arrears of salaries of the lecturers before December 31 of this year. ASUU will now have to discuss with it body before announcing a date for the calling off of the strike.

After the meeting the Minister of Labor, Ngige said: “Many issues were discussed at the meeting including salary for shortfall, the payment system and revitalization of the university system.

“I am positive that all the issues would be resolved at our next meeting.”

Sports / Lionel Messi To Miss Barcelona Trip To Ukriane by YHYson: 5:22pm On Nov 23, 2020
Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona team will miss the presence of their skipper Lionel Messi in champion’s league show down against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday as the team is to travel without him.

Koeman when asked by a company of press people why he omitted Messi from the list said: “We decided not to Leo and Frenkie because our position in our Champions League group is fairly comfortable, we have nine points, and both of them needed a rest”.

Messi has been battling for consistency this season as his form dipped. The Argentine wizard has only manage to score a goal from open play with 3 in total after match day 9 which makes him the number 80 scorer in laliga.

Also Messi has failed to register any assist in laliga this season after breaking the assist record last season.

The six times Balon D’OR winner definitely needs rest as the 33 year old shows signs of ageing and will be looking to return to the pitch with fresh passion on Sunday 29 November, 2020 as they take on Osasuna.
Politics / Dr Godwin Maduka: I Didn’t Say I Will Build 21 Universities In 4 Years by YHYson: 4:43pm On Nov 23, 2020
Dr. Godwin Maduka who is a Nigerian-American doctor, philanthropist, the founder of Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center was quoted to have said that he would build 21 universities in his 4 years tenure if elected in the forth coming Anambra state 2021 elections.

Maduka, who is contesting on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said “If given the opportunity, I will build one university each in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state. Education is key all over the world. We shouldn’t have a few scattered universities here. It is not that hard to set it up.

“In other places of the earth, some towns have up to six universities. It should be as easy as ABC. We will start with only 21, one per local government.

Asked how was going to fund them if that were to be, he queried: “Do you ever know what comes to the governor’s house in terms of funding? Any frugal governor can take care of that. There are some things that we can let go.

“And there are some things that we can bring in. It is a matter of priorities. There should be a new negotiation about funding education. After all, that’s why I am here now.”

The governorship aspirant who is a native of Umuchukwu, Orumba South LGA Anambra state, was said to have made the statement in his hometown during a youth summit his foundation, Godwin Maduka Foundation organized for the youths of the state.

Although Mr Maduka has come out to deny the comments in a statement by his media aide Onwurah Chinonso Anothony which says: “Dr. Maduka has said he’ll strengthen our education system to help empower the Youths, also our curriculum should be changed to accommodate more of entrepreneurial courses to help empower our Youths when they come out of school.

“Dr. Godwin Maduka didn’t say he’ll build 21 universities rather he said that he’ll ensure each local government in Anambra State gets at least 1 extension campus to make education easily accessible, he also said that he’ll ensure our education system changes to offer more of entrepreneurial courses that will offer self employment to our Youths when they leave university and not moving around the country in search of job.

“Similarly, Dr. Godwin Maduka said he’ll bring down the cost of education in the state such that even a small scale business man or woman and the youths can comfortably afford the cost”.
Programming / The Best Programming Language To Start With For Beginners by YHYson: 4:35pm On Nov 23, 2020
Computer programming is the process of designing and building an executable computer program to accomplish a specific computing result or to perform a specific task. This process is achieved by the use of a programming language which serves as the interface between programmer and the computer. In this article we will be showing you the first language to start with as a beginner.

Programming languages are divided into three major levels:

Machine Language: This is the lowest level of computer language, where the programmer writes each instruction in a numeric form(strings of 0’s and 1’s) the hardware can execute directly.
Assembly Language: The assembly language is one level above machine language. It uses short mnemonic codes for instructions and allows the programmer to introduce names for blocks of memory that hold data which improves the human readability of the code.
High Level Language: The high-level languages has a strong abstraction from the details of the computer which enables development of a program in a much more user-friendly way. They are the closest to humans examples are Pascal, Python, Java etc.
Looking for a programming language to start with shouldn’t be hard with the wide range of high languages that have been developed. Programming languages are built differently from each other with patterns and structures which varies by functions, translation of code to the machine source code, syntax etc.

The first language we will recommend for beginners is Pascal, yes “Pascal”, Pascal is an imperative and procedural programming language which was develop to encourage good programming practices using structured programming and data programming.

Reasons why Pascal is the best for beginners

It is an efficient language which was developed mainly to be used for teaching programming.
It is an Imperative programming language therefore, it focuses on describing how a program operates.
It is a procedural programming language therefore, using Structured programming paradigm which aims at improving the clarity, quality, and development time of a computer program by making extensive use of the structured control flow constructs of selection (if/then/else) and repetition (while and for), block structures, and subroutines.
The basic structure of a Pascal program is:

Program name
Uses commands
Type declarations
Constant declarations
Variable declarations
Functions declarations
Procedures declarations
Main program block
Statement and Expressions within each block
Comments.
Conclusion: Pascal programming language will teach you the basic constructs and fundamentals of programming that can be easily built upon when going to another language. Starting with a simple syntax programming language like Python hides some basic details of a program such as data type abstraction, memory management etc which are essential for beginners consumption.

Politics / Nigeria And Recession: What Caused Nigeria’s Recession by YHYson: 2:46pm On Nov 23, 2020
Nigeria is in a recession barely four years it got out of one, which makes it appalling as to why a country like Nigeria who is the biggest economy in Africa with the largest labor power would slip into the well of recession twice in 4 years.

A recession is the decline of economic activity, which means that the public has stopped buying products for a while which can cause the downfall of GDP after a period of economic expansion (a time where products become popular and the income profit of a business becomes large). This causes inflation (the rise of product prices). In a recession, the rate of inflation slows down, stops, or becomes negative in trend(two consecutive negative quarters).

The nature and causes of recessions are simultaneously obvious and uncertain. In general, a recession trend is normally associated with financial, psychological, and real economic factors.

Recession can plunge in as a result of overextension of credit and debt on risky loans and marginal borrowers can lead to enormous build-up of risk in the financial sector. The expansion of the supply of money and credit in the economy by the Federal Reserve and the banking sector can drive this process to extremes, stimulating risky asset prices which can crash when the expansion stops.

Recession can be caused by psychological factors such as the excessive exuberance of investors during the boom years that bring the economy to its peak, and the reciprocal downturn pessimism that occurs when the economy crash.

Recession can also be caused by real changes which are solely as a result of real economic shocks, such as disruptions in supply chains, and the damage they can cause to a wide range of businesses especially when it impact key industries.

A major cause of the 2020 recession in Nigeria is as a result of real economic shock of the widespread disruption of global and domestic supply chains and direct damage to businesses across all industries, due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the public health response. The impact of the epidemic and the fear of uncertainty surrounding it has hit the economy massively to a consecutive negative quarterly decline.

The Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in real terms declined by -3.62% (year-on-year) in Q3 2020, thereby marking a full-blown recession and second consecutive contraction from -6.10% recorded in the previous quarter (Q2 2020)

In 2016, the recession was caused majorly by the continuous drops of global oil prices which brought about a consecutive negative quarterly growth in the GDP which is oil dependent, accompanying it was a widespread geopolitical tensions along trading routes in the world and normalization of the monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve System.

Previous recessions in Nigeria

In 1987, according to World Bank data, Nigeria had a full year decline in gross domestic product (GDP) was put at 10.8 percent.

The country recorded recessions in 1991 and 1995, recording a full year economic decline of 0.6 and 0.3 percent respectively. Nigeria also recorded a contraction of 1.51 percent in 2016 which was the worse recession in her history since 1987 before the 2020 recession.

Programming / Programming Without Stress: The Easiest Way To Learn Programming by YHYson: 12:52pm On Nov 22, 2020
The process of learning how to program is usually seen by many especially beginners as a difficult task. This is true because learning a new skill at first always looks boring. In this article we are going to see the easiest way of learning programming. Programming should be fun not boring.
What is programming ?
Computer programming is the process of designing and building an executable computer program to accomplish a specific computing result or to perform a specific task.
Programming involves tasks such as: analysis generating algorithms, profiling algorithms’ accuracy and resource consumption, and the implementation of algorithms in a chosen programming language (commonly referred to as coding).
The source code of a program is written in one or more languages that are intelligible to programmers, rather
than machine code, which is directly executed by the central processing unit. The purpose of programming is to find a sequence of instructions that will automate the performance of a task (which can be as complex as
an operating system) on a computer, often for solving a
given problem. Proficient programming thus often requires expertise in several different subjects, including knowledge of the application domain specialized algorithms, and formal logic.
Learning how to program without stress
1. Develop a special love for programming: Yes many will say “love” yes love, you can’t be successful in what you don’t like. Many successful programmers like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg… will tell you programming is fun which shows the level of love they have for programming. At first you may not like it but it’s up to you to create a special love for it because love is a choice and remember if you like something you will create time for it.
2. Learn the programming fundamentals and constructs: Learning programming is easy when you start from the basics. Start with a simple procedural
programming language like Pascal. Learn the constructs of every programming language very well,
they are: Data Types, Variables, Functions, Array or Lists, If statements, Conditional loops.
3. Watch Videos, download related pdfs or material and learn through interactive websites: To get an in depth knowledge of programming you must be determine and disciplined to make research by watching videos, reading programming materials, learning online and then practicing, practice makes room for improvement. Practice until you become a pro.
4. Give programming some time: Programming can’t be learnt in one day, just as Rome was not built in a day. Learn programming for at least 2 hours a day with frequent breaks when practicing, yes give your brain
some fresh air when ever it is hot or not catching anything. Come back to it later, don’t kill yourself .
5. Start a Project: Don’t start with something big rather start with something small like designing a
simple calculator, after that move on to something a little bit complex than the first. You can also register and attend boot camps or get a computer science degree which are some of the ways you can get yourself involved in learning programming.
The last but not the least tip is find a community of people who have same mind as yours in the particular programming language you are learning and don’t forget to ask questions if you don’t understand anything, remember a person that always ask never gets lost.

Sports / Hot Spot Tottenham Beat Man City To Go Top Table by YHYson: 7:34am On Nov 22, 2020
Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City to go top table in an entertaining Saturday evening fixture. Mourinho’s boys who are on an unbeaten run of 7 games made it 8 with a masterclass display against Pep’s side.

Jose Mourinho’s team were ruthless and defended very well to claim all three points in the game. Manchester City side who have been struggling through out this campaign with the departure of David Silva making things difficult were not a match for Mourinho’s boys.

Tottenham took an early lead in the game when Tanguy Ndombele found Heung-Min Son with the ball who buried it in nicely. Son’s form under Mourinho has been blistering with 22 goals and 14 assist from 40 games under the Portuguese.Harry Kane has also been on a scintillating form with 7 goals and a massive 8 assists from 9 games in the current campaign, providing the second of the game in the second half.

Giovani Lo Celso who was introduced into the game in the 65th minute wasted no time to leave his mark on the game as he scored the second for the home side after just 35 seconds of play.

Jose Mourinho has now won both games against Pep Guardiola in 2020, the first time he has ever won back-to-back games against Pep in the 24 meetings between the managers.

After the game Jose Mourinho said: Jose: “They are very good with the ball. They keep the ball, they move the ball, the hide the ball away from you. And if you try to play the way they do, they are better than you. So, to beat them, you have to play in a different way.”
Sports / Ronaldo On The Double As Juventus Beat Cagliari by YHYson: 7:26am On Nov 22, 2020
Ronaldo has been on a lethal form since the start of this season for Juventus and also for Portugal with 36 goals and 7 assists in 36 games since the start of 2020. Ronaldo has been running the show in Italy. Since his arrival in 2018 no other player has scored more goals than him, 60 goals and counting.

Ronaldo stole the show as he scored twice in the first half in a space of 4 minutes to bury the game. With his 8 goals in 5 games Ronaldo is the first Juventus player since 1994 to score in all of his first five games.

Juventus went ahead in the game in the 38th minutes when Alvaro Morata provided a clean assist for Ronaldo who curved a shot into the net before adding a second in a more improvised style in the 42nd minutes with an assist from Merih Demiral to help Juventus clinch all 3 points.

Juventus climbed up to second position in the Seria A table 1 point behind leaders AC Milan who are playing away to SS Napoli in a Sunday fixture. Juventus next play will be in a home game champions league game against Ferencvoras on Tuesday.

Kai Havertz has the potential to
be as good as Lionel Messi &
Cristiano Ronaldo though time will
tell. It took Ronaldo some time
before he conquered the Premier
League.

Politics / See The Good Advice Reno Omokri Offered The Nigerian Policemen by YHYson: 12:45pm On Nov 21, 2020
The Nigerian Police Force on the

Reno Omokri who is an activist

advice to the Nigerian policemen
serving the country, that they
should not let themselves to be
used by the government in any
evil way against peaceful
protesters as the ordinary
Nigerians are the ones fighting for
them.
See his tweet:
Dear @PoliceNG ,
Before you are used against
peaceful protesters again,
consider that 8 policemen were
abducted by bandits. No word
from General @MBuhari or the IG.
It is us, ordinary Nigerians, who
have been fighting for their
release. Think about that!

Politics / See Something Shocking The NNPC GMD Said About Buhari by YHYson: 12:23pm On Nov 21, 2020
The Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mallam Mele Kyari has revealed something striking about the President. The geologist, crude oil marketer who is also the 19th GMD of the NNPC made this statement in a media parley with the nation’s energy journalist at Abuja.

The GMD spokes on wide-ranging issues and developments within the NNPC group and the larger Oil & Gas Industry. He said: “Our vision is that NNPC will become a company of excellence and declare dividends to Nigerians and shareholders. We are optimistic that at the end of 2020, NNPC should be able to declare dividends to Nigerians in spite of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He also revealed that the: “NNPC has never published its audited financial statement in 43 yrs. We came & started doing that & released the 2018 financial statement. We were not afraid of doing that & there were a lot of criticisms that we lost money in refinery operations & pipeline business.

“We went ahead & published the 2019 audited report & were able to learn and cut cost & became more efficient. There is no company in the country which has cut its losses within one financial year by N800bn. We have improved efficiency by cutting 97% in our losses.

“These are truly difficult times for our Industry. But I am proud to say that we were able to maintain our obligations to the Federation Account for seven months without any fail despite the huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the oil and gas industry.”

He then spoke of the President, see tweet below: “I have been around in this company for 29 yrs & have worked closely with top management of the NNPC for about 15 yrs. This is the only President who has never asked NNPC to do something. Under no circumstances has President @MBuhari controlled what we want to do”

Politics / Just In: See Something Great Donald Trump Just Did That Was Done Last In 1994 by YHYson: 5:41pm On Nov 20, 2020
For years there have been series of tension in the Arab world between Israel and many of the Arab nations, especially because of the conflict between Israel and Palestinians. A peace agreement between Israel and many of the surrounding nations in the Middle East had proved abortive in recent years.

On March 2nd, 2020 Secretary of States of the US Michael Pompeo said that: “We know that the more the Middle East embraces Israel, the brighter their future will be.” Mr Pompeo traveled to Israel November 18, 2020 where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem where they discussed the historic Abraham Accords, as well as security issues related to Iran’s malign influence in the region.

The Department of State of the US tweeted that: “President @realDonaldTrump has brokered agreements to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan – the first such agreements between Israel and Arab or Muslim-majority countries since 1994.”

On 26 October 1994, Jordan and Israel signed the peace treaty in a ceremony held in the Arava valley of Israel, north of Eilat and near the Jordanian border. Prime Minister Rabin and Prime Minister Abdelsalam al-Majali signed the treaty and the President of Israel Ezer Weizman shook hands with King Hussein.

This is really a great feat, more progress and peace deals ahead.
