I've been following this thread and reading the experiences of other members silently, I am grateful to everyone who shared their visa interview transcripts because it helped me in one way or the other. masquellett: Thank you, I was thinking about that too but he was worried about getting an earlier date before July. September does not seem realistic and I am not sure if emergency approval gets him an earlier date, He doesn’t have to cancel his present date. Just change your ds-160 number on cgi and send them an email to change your sevis number. |

Instead of going through this process, he can just fill another ds-160 with the desired school, update his visa appointment with the new ds-160 number and mail the embassy with his new sevis number and viola! he can attend interview with his desired school. Andracarles: Yes, he can go for interview with one university and transfer to the other when he gets to the US. It is not a problem that he has two i20s at his interview. When he gets approved, and enters the US, he will transfer his sevis record from the school he got visa with to the school he wants to attend. That is not a problem. As for emergency, yes he can apply for emergency. But just because you apply for emergency does not mean it will be approved. And even upon approval, you may not still find a favourable date. He could also join a date search group to improve his chances of finding a date earlier than July. And in case you didn't know, visa can be applied for one year before your resumption. But you can only enter the US one month to resumption. It is emergency appointment application that is 2 months to resumption, but as i explained earlier, applying doesnt mean approval. |

Cyclops33: Hi Good people, please I need some clarification, A relative applied for a visit visa for Canada via an agent and the visa processing took less than 3 months till visa is out, I know Canada delays a lot so out of curiosity I asked if they took his fingerprint and he said No because he previously applied before and got a refusal so finger print wasn’t needed. I know for Uk and other countries fingerprints are taken every time you apply even if it’s immediately after the refusal. Experienced people do Canada ignore to take fingerprints if reapplying? Also is is possible to get VV in less than 3 months ? He is convincing my cousin to do same and I just tot something isn’t right, I know the minimum processing time is 1 year + even on Canada website it says 785 days. I think fingerprint is just once in Canada application because it gets saved in their system for certain years. I’m curious, how much did he/she pay the agent? |

shollay09: does that mean you don't have to mention you having a family there during one's interview It’s advisable and reasonable not to mention your family because one of the reasons you attend interview is to determine if you will return back to your country. And that is why they ask what will you do with this degree and all sort of questions. Saying your family is presently residing in USA tells them you will stay back and not want to return to Nigeria. Even if na your whole family dey there and you are going for F1 which is non-immigrant visa, just answer no to that question. If you are going for B1/B2, it doesn’t matter if you say yes. |

Fill another DS-160 and update it on your visa interview schedule. Shikena! judas001: Quick question. I discovered my DS-160 still has my old Intended Date of travel (which is Jan 12, 2023). Here is a little background about my case. Initially got admission for the spring session, to resume on January 25, 2023, but after completing my application process, I could not get a visa date, so I defied the admission to Fall. So I scheduled my interview since then. Now my interview few weeks, and my DS-160 still has the old intended date of travel. In this case, what do I do, I notice I cannot edit it once is already submitted. Can I go to an interview with this DS-160? |

This thread has been really helpful.
I have my mom as my sponsor on my F1, few months ago, my office became interested in sponsoring. Do I still go to the interview with both statements or just the organisation's?
Kindly share thoughts. Why stress yourself. Just go do your interview with your mom and your office will be paying when you get there. Is it not easy to present mom than company to VO? |

Hollyholy: Hey guys.
I cried all night and still crying after being denied yesterday.
I totally tended up and blanked out.
Last night all my responses kept flowing in my head and sounded like I was muttering gibberish.
I feel so hopeless.
It was like someone else possessed my body as all I heard rehearsed flew out of my head.
I sent an email to my program director and her response brought more tears to my eyes.
She said she will keep the admission open all through next year, hoping I can join them.
I am afraid to book another date and go through another heartbreak.
I am hiding in my office toilet as I type still crying.
I feel so sad I don’t know how to comfort you but please take heart. Book another appointment and practice more with prayers |

Lete: Good morning guys. Please kindly help me with clarifications on these:
After booking an appointment for April which is the earliest date, I then went ahead to apply for emergency date, filled the form from the link that was emailed to me, then another email came in saying they have discontinued using that form for emergency appointment and gave me another link to do it online, which I did, there’s a space to briefly explain for you should be granted emergency appointment and opportunity to upload documents that can support your case, which i did and I confirmation page saying your application has been submitted. But I never hear from them since yesterday oo, hope I’m still on track, should I still wait for a while for them to get back to me
If am asked on the interview day why this particular school? Please what is the best answer I can give??
If am asked for masters in the U.S and not Nigeria, what is the best answer I can give?
Lastly, I chose DHL office in v.i to pickup my document, what document are these? And am I to submit my international passport to them after my interview or do I have to go submit it before my interview??
Please guys kindly help with the above questions. God bless us all and grant us all our heart desires. Amen! If approved, your passport will be collected to put visa on it then you will be notified to pick up from the VI DHL pickup branch |

fairheart: Your attitude is very annoying. You may be academically sound, but you need to learn to be understanding and listen to those who knows better than you. Most of the people who have been on this thread for a long time, contributing, advising, giving listening ears and even supporting strangers financially, are not your mates. Lagosismyhome is trying to correct and educate you, yet, you remain defensive. This manner will likely make more people ignore you. Classroom education should not be subtituted for manner. fairheart: Imagine! You don't know if it is good offer or not? That sounds like you don't appreciate what you're being offered. Do you know how much you are being offered in full tuition waiver you got? Take your calculator and do the math! Your trusted, shithole country cannot even give you 1% of that! Your school here in Nigeria cannot give you 1% of that! If, as a graduate, you cannot see the worth of what you are being offered by the school, just let it go. You don't deserve it!
Please contact the professor and tell him you don't know if it is good offer or not. In fact, tell him you don't want the scholarship so that the generous school will use their money on applicant that is desperate for something and that will see the value of what you are not sure about. Nigerians with entitlement mentality. Please turn down the offer; it is not good. You need to calm your nerves because I don’t understand why your blood is so hot. So asking for peoples opinion made you bitter, baba check yourself. Keep your advice dude |
