This guys are too much.Don't play with thr topnotch valuation skill. Try check thr valuation for other companies.Na when you see alhaji foods #100 you go swear for them.what is thr valuation for alhaji cement. You they joke with moves and shakers of naija economy
Lol. If you follow Simply Wall stock valuation, you'll end up picking wrong stocks and miss the good ones out.

If you check what the valuation is for UCAP, you'll laugh.
They don't have sufficient data to base their valuation on most times.

Meaning hope dey say one day Transcorp go make us proud by crossing 100
Let's hope Transcorp will make her shareholders proud one day. smiley

By my own amateur calculations, let's look at it this way;

40B ÷ 2.5B = 16
(Transcorp 40B OS divided by Geregu 2.5B OS)

Meaning: Ratio 1:16
(For every 1 Geregu, you have 16 Transcorp)

- Looking at Geregu price, N300 average, then:
* N300 ÷ 16 = N18.75

Worst case scenario, the N8 on top ...... grin

Don't mind my analysis paralysis, maybe I'm over-visualizing this thing grin.........but......Transcorp shouldn't be selling at CP (3.50/3.60) ordinarily.
*Maybe the gurus could help us calculate it's fair value with respect to recent financials.

Payment has not yet been finalized.
I think it's still awaiting SEC approval.

There are rules governing buy outs, not sure but I think in most cases it is benchmarked to average or highest price in the 12 months preceding deal announcement. No investor will willingly pay above the lowest price it can offer except there are other considerations e.g. there is a new buyer who values company more
Think I'm aware of some of these rules too, it's last six months except it changes.
There are exceptions to them too, where a company decides to treat his shareholders well and fairly too.

See the case of IntEnergy, the share price was static at around 0.38k for years self, but Norrenberger decided to buy shareholders out at good price of N1.60.
* Note I'm not considering those that bought above 10yrs ago*

Sometimes, those foreigners treats people right unlike blacks.

My concern however is the influence of blacks in this GSK issue....I mean some of the blacks on board of GSK...we hope they don't influence negatively. We are our own enemies.

Maybe some people have seen the buy off price.
Well, that's a possibility.......but why won't GSK pay up to 15? I still don't know the reason they'll tender for that.....
This same GSK was selling above 26 few years ago.....and to say they're buying out only the locals, that's another good reason to pay nothing less than 20!
The shareholders should protest if payout is not up to 15 at least......even with inflation that has eroded the value already! Anything less than 20 is a rip-off!!
* We will watch the season film to the end.....

**NB: Just stating my opinion here. You may do well to state yours too. That's the beauty of this platform & brainstorming

The volume been dump is not my retail investor.
Heavy weights are not selling, it's only retailers due to panic I guess.....
* Someone somewhere must have triggered the sell in one forum or platform maybe, or maybe one analyst who may have carried out some permutations......
We are watching.......and waiting for GSK's announcement.....
* If there be anything at all, at least it has allowed some who couldn't jump into the ship to have opportunity. lipsrsealed

** For the record, GSK is buying out only the minority holders, the majority (UK based) are not inclusive.....

Gsk is not a dead company. The parent company is doing well. They will not pay anything less than #15 .That was why they paid 7.50 for ribena. They are not like nigeria companies that reapoff shareholders .They have a global brand name to maintain
My thoughts too.
We shall see with time....

The last special dividend after selling Ribena was N7.50
That's for Ribena, a part of the whole na.
Pls understand that I'm not arguing o, me self I'm trying to get more info ni o. D

.......but if Ribena special dividend is 7.50, don't you think the whole GSK will be more than that? Maybe double or more?? Just wondering huh

Let them do quick and tell us the buyout price o.

What is there problem? They should go and sell there shares.
I don't think it's a protest against Rights Issue but a protest against some plan to distrupt the AGM.

All these still boils down to the control issue going on in FBN.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:

I wonder since they all belong to the same parent company why were they listed on the stock exchange differently before??
Many factors could be responsible for this.

In the case of NASCON, it was owned by another company but not doing so well, so Dangote bought it over some years back and change the story of the company for good.
- it was listed before Dangote aquired it, so he left it to be running separately from Dangsugar, which was also listed separately then.

Now, Alhaji is planning to merge all food companies since he can't come and list DANGRICE separately as well.......
* Merging all food chains will create more value for him, the shareholders and the economy at large.

My understanding of it.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:
NASCON:
If NASCON can cross the 40 marks today, then the post merger price may likely be juicy be that....
* Pls don't take my comment for it......just stating my observation*

* GSK: on full bid @8.90......
How much can this Coy possibly offer as buy-out Price?

** Most trades on GSK are cross deals!!
Make dem allow people to sell on the floor as well na smiley

Both I think. Speculation for each company and
also speculated share allocation ratio for the merger of the 3 entities to DangoteFoods.
(their personal opinions)
Ok thanks.

Like you said, it's still speculations.

@Onegentleguy was spot on here!
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:

The number of issued shares of DANGFOODS will also be a significant factor as well as the exchange ratio.
So far, the total number of issued shares of Dangsugar + Nascon should be around 15B.....
I don't think DANGRICE can be that much......
So, total may not even be up to 20B........and BUAFOODS is around 18B.....

* I think Dangsugar is going to have majority say here, and I can suspect a 1:1 conversion, especially with both trailing each other behind in terms of share price.......I may be wrong though.

DANGRICE is going to be a booster...... we'll see how it'll all pans out anyway.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:
ggoldmine:
Hi Mcy, What happens to the current Dangsugar shareholders, if that occurs? Will the name change to Dangfood or are you referring to an IPO for the Dangfood? Thanks.
The name will change to DANGFOODS and you'll be alloted the proportional shares based on the merger conversion and based on the stock you have (either Dangsugar, NASCON or DANGRICE.

personal Due Deligence shld be applied..
Ok thanks. I'll check out the page.........but the speculations done that time was for each company and not a merger if I get it right.

If they list at 60, I go just sell all my holdings at once. E fit go full bid that very day.
Sell?
If it's listed at 60, it will go on full bid......who will want to sell something going to N100 or more overtime?
Well, traders will be buying and selling, doing their usual biz anyway.

How will the new price be determined when the 3 companies merges?
That's the work of the Valuers and will be subjected to monitoring by the relevant Regulators .

The Equity Valuers knows what and what to consider to arrive at the appropriate value. They're professionals in the field.

I want to believe so, with the introductory price, in the range of N100 - N120
grin shocked
Chai!!
My own suspected introductory price is N60......
...but the rate at which people were packing it, it could be more than that, with a win-win merger plan for all the 3 Coys.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:

I suspect dangote food may catch up with BUA food
Me too.......it's going to be overtime sha.
Long termers will likely be the most beneficiaries of the merger....

* DANGOTE FOODS has wider range and coverage compared to BUAFOODS.......
*The 3 companies to merge are solid already.......and I suspect other food range will fall in line as time goes on.......like the tomato Coys (the greenhouse arms, etc).....
I think it's going to be a very big value chain consolidation.....
* I also suspect a 1:1 sharing or so........na just suspicion o, I may be wrong grin ......OR, maybe it will benefit NASCON much more because of the smaller OS.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:
Bull in market today.....

It is well o..

* In the past, the gurus would have discussed about this merger and do estimated valuation, but as some people don pursue dem finish, we no get such analysis again ...
