We are entering the phase of aggressive bull rise on NSE and other EMs. During this phase, everything boat is lifted by the tsumani of money.

Many stocks can go on full bids for weeks. After many months, the mania reduces and people panic. When prices settle at rest, then the mania accelerates again.

Once stock is high like that, you could have look the way of its peers that are still cheaper and still have more upside..
If bull persists however, it may still appreciate the more.....oil subsidy removal will fetch them more money...
Dividend of N2.50 is still there to chop as well.

That could be a mistake on their part.
They must have discovered the error and withdraw it for correction, reason the link wasn't working again.

Pls cross check those prices on Gainers' Table, seems there's a mix up somewhere, as they didn't tally with the actual closing prices...

For instance, International Breweries (INTBREW) closed @N5.50...highest for today...
STERLING closed @N2.75...
DANGSUGAR@N25.30...
Etc.

Ok. But if you'd ask for advice that time, you could have get better option....like reducing the stake and picking another one.
Chi is good don't get me wrong, but you can always come back to it when positive sentiment is sighted.

You could just reduce your stake there for now.

Always good to make comparison, align with dividend paying stocks that are liquid and FA sound, especially as a newbie.

You could have sold Chi and use all to buy Lasaco while it was being noised here!!

If you could sell Chi and pick a banking stock, you'll make the loss back and move to profit.....this is my advice for now..

You can't keep waiting for a stock yet to move while the moving trains are severally passing you by...

Fidelity already gone on full bid......would have said pick some...maybe FCMB is still available I don't know.

If you're not in urgent need of fund that may want to prompt you to sell, then you can exercise more patience with CHI PLC.

The stock now pays Dividend consistently, even paid interim and final Dividend last financial year.
FA wise, not doing bad.
I think it doesn't have biz trading at current price but if it could come down small from currentprice, it will attract investors and would likely pick up more from there.

Aside Custodian, Mansard, NEM, Lasaco and Cornerstone in that order......
...the next set of insurance stocks on watchlist are: Chi Plc, Aiico & linkage, -dividend payers...... followed by Prestige, MBenefit, Wapic, Royalex, Regal, STI, SUNU.

It was that "repeating" that caught my attention in your post.
In fact, most of the times, I don't even have the stocks I discover these potentials in them or is recommended for one reason or the other......while many would have chop and clean mouth self.
Attimes, I'll be in the one I don't even mention or hammer much on self.......believing Mr. Market to do justice to it rightly.

An investor might have bought a stock, in order to sell the stock at a profit he would start hyping the stock in order to create demands for such stocks which will make the stock price to increase.

I believe when someone buys a stock and continues to talk about the growth potential of the stock at least once in a week consistently for the next 4 weeks or more on NSEMPA, the person is monkey hunting
