Loco, BBM mercy have come again oo after remembering I have FTN I told my former broker to send the CSCS statement to me I saw I still have Japaul oil 50k units I bought during their IPO, all these Kobo stocks have lost interest in them but I know you guys are expert in them. Make I hold or sell? Pls which one is coronation insurance I saw that too and staco insurance!
Oga Aremso, you can hold your JAPAUL and FTNCOCOA.
Sell Coronation, which is Wapic Insurance and Staco.....but Staco has been moribond for several years, so if you want to sell, no one is willing to buy self.

**Final decision to hold or sell is yours to take sir**

In another news, ETERNA opened on full bid @19.10!!

Transcorp Hotel vexing seriously......sighted @21.29!!

So today, bids have surfaced for UNITY BANK.....we see how it goes....
Seems we forgot that there could be merger or acquisition or buy-over as well.......nothing is impossible in this market.
On full bid @1.08!

Chams is simply on traction on account of the movement of other stocks of similar price category. Same with RTB and Courtville. Anyway, the ride is onto glory for the Sentimental Analysts on board.
When the SA fuel driving them dries up, exit follows.
I think you're very correct with the RTB and, especially Courtville sir.

For newbies, Courtville is going to pay 0.48k as buy-out Price, present price doesn't justify it.....pls know what you're buying into ooo.......
You've been encouraged to ask questions before buying any of these stocks, if you follow oldbies to buy anyone, don't come here and blame anybody.

Can and will Mansard follow suit ?
Let's even look at MANSARD the Arithmetic and Pry Schl way.....taking it back to the pre-reconstuction time........ Pardon me, na night school I go.. grin

*Opening Price today = 3.78
* Pre-reconstuction Price = 0.94k (3.78 ÷ 4)

* 2022 FYE declared Div = 0.36k (Post-reconstruction)
* 2022 FYE declared Div = 0.09k (Pre-reconstruction)

So, dividend of 0.09k was paid on 0.94k unit share...

The dividend yield on Mansard @ 0.94k = 9.57%
This is a good one if you ask me o. grin

For those who picked it @1.50, the dividend yield would be 24%!
With improved Q1 result, I think this is very nice!
Hopefully, Q2 will come out good too.....

Mansard shouldn't be selling below N4 in my opinion.... that's N1 ! Looks cheap to me if we look deeper into it.

Thanks for the compliments on SA. For me, SA is the quickest and safest way to realizing the ultimate objective of coming to the stock market which is financial freedom.
The SA family is a big one and we have always been together in spirit regardless of the pockets of occasional disagreements. I was actually enjoying your updates and secretly appending likes while the mutual avoidance lasted.
Thanks boss. You made my day. smiley

Truly, we seriously needed to consider and look more into SA on this platform.......it's fast separating itself from TA/FA, especially when trading Nigerian stocks.

What fundamentals does FTN COCOA for instance have that took it from circa 30/40k to N1.80+?

It's well anyway. smiley

...there is no point opening a new thread. FA & TA compliment each other. TA is "relatively still new" in Nigeria and might take some time before it is generally accepted. The recent disagreement, to me, indicate that we are talking "truth" to ourselves. We should rather be afraid of an environment where everyone is smiling to one another!

Thanks @ yMcy56.
I have always hammered here that as far as NSE is concerned, my over 20 year experience of participation has taught me that very long term investment outlook based entirely on fundamentals alone could end up a tragedy in life. Fundamental Analysis is like basing opinions and choices on reason and logic which though should be the ideal attitude of men but unfortunately in Nigeria, reason doesn't dictate to any reasonable extent our choice making. We have severally witnessed fundamentally sound stocks declining in price just immediately after declaring fantastic results with very mouthwatering dividends while a not too good result from a struggling company causes a 10% daily rise for days based on sentiments. Why this happens is something the hard core FA apostles have never been able to explain.
You're right sir!
ZEE and quite a lot of them comes to mind.
I've always known your stand on this SA and I think Nigerian stocks thrives on FA and TA, but much more on SA. News moves stocks much more.
Ordinarily, if we look at the share price of some stocks, even fundamentally, they shouldn't be where they are but the truth is, news and sentiments has moved them at one point in time or the other.
See GEREGU for instance, the news of Afreximbank's 5% stake took it beyond 100 to 300!
Has it come back to 100 since then? NO!
All those who picked @100, 120, 150, 200 while it was been mentioned, did they regret picking till now? NO!
It's well.

You can mention other stocks maybe the type that suit them but for me, Kobo stocks have come to stay and will continue in as much as there
is financial improvements and turnaround in the kobo companies.

For leaving this forum, not me again. I will stand to resist them.

I was banned yesterday after the challenges of words, maybe the moderators checked and found me not guilty and restored me back to the forum.

We must stand now to separate investors and traders from having access at same platform.Nobody will agree with each other unless there is a common interest.

Pls let's stay and do our very best here.It is only God who knows us and can reward.
If I am here to deceive anyone including the newbies, it will not be well with me.When I point out a stock, you check it and carry your own assignment on it Before buying.

I am a trader and may not be there when people will start enjoying the stock I pointed. It has happened to me severally.I can't come and say the stock I pointed is bad tomorrow because I sold except the financials which I depend on fails.I put much effort to comment on a stock I have or want to buy than the ones I have sold. When opportunities present itself again on the sold stock,i will come back again and ride on it.

One love @ Mercy and all
One love bro!!

Maybe, if someone can open another thread for traders it will be good as you suggested.
So that whosever is on that thread will know it's for traders and know the risks and rewards involved in trading, while NSEMPA can strictly be for value investors.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:
Let me also state here that, example of High Yield Investment mentioned by Pa Emma has no correlation with NSE at all.

We all know High Yield is scam while NSE is not.
Many have been discouraged against this here as well. We don't encourage High Yields but in NGX, the stocks listed there are well regulated by the regulators, necessary requirements met and subject to periodic monitoring too.

In NSE we know bull time used to come with lots of Euphoria and in most cases, many stocks will be moving Northwards.

We should bear in mind too that different news filters in, which may make some particular stocks toast of investors.....just like the case of TRANSCORP sited by deadly truth for instance...

Unsual rushing and movements were sighted in TRANSCORP. We don't know what this was all about, so some of us started mentioning it here that something must be happening which we don't know, lots of huge Cross deals, prices moving and all that....

In this kind of situation, is it a bad thing to call the attention of the house to it? Is it wrong to tell risk takers to buy some in case it's some good news?
Well, it turned out to be good news which many jumped into @1.35/1.50 and made good gains.
Should we say this is one crooks handwork here...to deceive the gullibles and make them to loose money?

After Transcorp, I could remember OGG as well as myself or maybe someone else mentioned UBA. I categorically call people's attention to UBA and told them to buy, that Tony may want to avert what happened in TRANSCORP by buying more stakes in UBA, I researched and saw that Tony had less than 1% in UBA, so I immediately knew UBA might be next "corruption", which turned out to be true!!
What about ACCESS, ARDOVA, GEREGU, MTNN, FIDELITY,and of course, the Kobo stocks, which we always state our reasons for possible picking?? huh

** Let me stop here, cos I can go on and on.
Pls, like Oga BBM said, let's look into his advice and make amends to better the lots of all of us in this forum!
And as for Ade1, you disappointed me with your comment!! You need to tender apology to good and hardworking Nigerians!!

Hhmmm. E Ku discussion o. grin

@ Loco, I must commend you for not allowing anyone to intimidate you to the extent of leaving this time around.

I thank all who spoke and shed more light on the issue on ground. You've all did well.

Oga BBM, you did well and also raised vital points which none of the opposition party addressed.
While these stocks were been mentioned, why did they not come out and be hammering on the need to stay away from Kobo stocks? Definitely a "Pull-down-Syndrome" mentality at play here!
"Let's watch them make mistakes so we can laugh them and tell them 'We told you so'" smiley

@deadlytruth, though myself and you are north and south in this forum, but I must say, you completely nailed the issue on the head, provided much indepth understanding on the Sentimental Analysis and indeed said it as it is! Thanks and kudos!!

So now, is Unity Bank the major bone of contention or Kobo stocks or insurance stocks?
Let's know pls.

I for one will try as much as possible to keep movement of such away from live updates if it will make you have peace of mind!! This is not the first, 2nd or 3rd time it's generating lots of heat here. Once Kobo stocks is mentioned, some people get aggro. grin
Hope this will solve part of the issue.... tongue

Since when have we been talking about Chams here and it didn't leave circa 21/23k?
What about Lasaco? Since 2021! It even dip from post-reconstruction price of N1.68 to 0.81k!
What of Mansard?
What of Japaul? And many others like that.

Was I not talking about GTCO, DANGCEM, BUAFOODS, BUACEM, etc as well?

BUAFOODS was selling at N73 when I sighted value in it and I mentioned it here. Did it begin its Northwards journey immediately? NO! But today, it's close to 💯% in profit.

What of Fidelity? Since it was trading @1.66k, I've been on it's case....and many others like that.

My reason for buying UNITY was well stated here as well. I still have it for your info despite that it's shedding.
So, I know it will shed and I still kept it or I'm monkey hunting it and still kept it till now??

While I'm not saying we shouldn't caution, we should still be cautious of blaming when things goes South as well.
We all know how this market works, even the most "useless" stocks by our definition, may turn out to be the best rewarder in terms of performance.....Meyer, Dangflour, CWG, etc are ready examples.

However, I still repeat, some investors needs to change their mindset towards some stocks.....that a stock dealt with you in the past is not enough to be rubbishing them all the time.

They cant continue to live in the 18th century.

Why edit my moniker out?
