Pls I use to think the the interval btw the qualification date and closure date is usually a day.Using Apr with qualification date to be 14/03/2023 and closure date 17/04/2023.What happens if you sell in btw this two dates?Do you still get dividend
Closure of register can't be one month apart from qualification!
It's usually 24hours after qualification Date or, from close of biz on the qualification Date.

In the case of AFRIPRUD, final qualification Date is 14th April while closure of register is 17th April.
14th is Friday,so closure commenced the next working day......which is Mon 17th.

The question is, how many people invested 15 million in UCAP at N3? The few that did most likely sold when it hit N10 for a nice 250% return while also pocketing some juicy dividends along the way.

I now people here bought UCAP at cheap rates but there is difference between investing N500k and N15M
Rome wasn't built in a day......and,
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.

That was a good plan if you asked me because not all are traders.
We have those who invest for passive income, so such plan is a good one in my opinion.

Even if you buy at N10, with regular cashflow and, if you're consistent and keeps increasing your stake, you'll be earning something on monthly basis I Blv. smiley

While browsing, I stumbled upon "The Ponzi Factor," a book whose author argues that, apart from dividend-paying stocks, the stock market operates like a Ponzi scheme. According to the author, when it comes to stocks that don't pay dividends, investors purchase them with the hope of selling them at a higher price to someone else, and the market requires a steady stream of new investors to sustain profits for existing investors. The book made some compelling points, and I recommend giving it a read as it's a concise read.

It sparked a different thought in me: If I had invested 15 million in UCAP in 2020, I would be receiving nearly 700k+ per month in dividends, which is similar to what Shell SPDC contract office workers in Port Harcourt earn each month. This translates to a passive 57% return on initial investment.
Nice one.

Can you break down the B part with some Arithmetic examples. smiley

Incase you are not aware, there are more than 5 NSEMPA WhatsApp groups where the members discuss and strategize on stocks before announcing it here.
So no one is going to tell you the stocks they are buying until they have gotten their fill and are ready to dump on you.
You can liase with Mcy or Pa Emma to add you to theirs.
Why liase with Mcy?
For your info, I do not belong to any Whatsapp group...
* Whatever you see me post here are efforts of my own hardwork in my own little way......going out of my way to do readings, observe, study trends, etc.

I was once invited to a WhatsApp group and the day I posted/made appearance there was the day I exited the group due to some biases expressed against my person.
Also, they're more of value/long term investors and me I be trader, I don't really look belonging there. So I quitted. smiley

2008 was brutal on our NSE simply cos they bided everything high both good and dead stocks, brokers were getting margin loan from banks, every dick and harry was entry stocks on the fake analysis paralysis of stock brokers until FPIs allow the madness get to the peak then they dumped on us. Many lost their lives and the rest learnt hard lesson of a life time, i dont think it can be worst on us like that of 2008 since we are not currently have majority of FPIs guys on our NSE though that is my view.
Funny how Prof compares 2023 to 2008!
Wonder what brought the side by side comparison in the first place........and if he's referring to The States, he ought to be specific.

In 2008 before the crash, did someone know how much each stock share price was selling and how much they are now ?

Even JAPAUL that was selling at Kobo Kobo now was selling above N13, all the insurance stocks grounded at 20kobo now are selling at high amount that time......banking stocks, industrial, consumer goods, oil & gas, etc are all on high side.

Isn't it wicked to compare 2023 to 2008? Except they're saying all stocks should be rounded down to miminum value of 0.20k..God forbid. angry
Make Una no vex o. grin

This cashless policy has exposed the weakness of the Nigerian Banks infrastructures.

Meanwhile, if you want to send money to anyone using OPAY, no need to ask for their account number. Just remove the first 0 in their phone numbers. The remaining 10 digits is their OPAY account number. You can use my phone number to experiment it🙄

Lol. Good advert for Opay. grin
Never been paying attention to those Fintech medium until recently.
Many pple are actually switching to them........but they do have their own issues too.

For the banks, I think the recent pressures were much than what they'd envisaged, but some are now upgrading the infrastructures to accommodate the high online demands.
