What's going on with GT Bank plc,I am down with a loss of 1.5m. Pls someone should advice me.
gabscity:
I am 36% down on GTCO which is like 80% of my total portfolio. Me too I need advice.
I know I'm not worthy to advice you o.......but when I see this kind of posts, it moves me. sad

I think at this point, capital preservation will be the best bet.
What I mean is that, you have to be very patient. We've been in this type of scenario before. That time, it was even worst because it cut across the whole market.....but respite eventually came.

Like someone asked that time about this same GT, my advice then was to remain patient and control emotions; don't sell at loss, plan in your mind to convert to dividend stock for now, and if possible, stop logging in to your trading account to be checking and calculating the loss. If there's enough spare funds, you may wait for bottom-bottom to pick more when reversal is sighted.

GTCo's results released so far were not that bad to warrant this huge shedding and dumping, some internal forces may be at play, especially since the demise of the owner...coupled with the economic situations in the country and across the globe.

Let's be hopeful that things will turn around for good in not to far distance.

There is no respite for GTCO at the moment. The Selling pressure/volume is significant.
Hhmmm.
Let's see if the 17.50 support will hold.
Like you said, this week's trading is important to GTCo.
Touched 17.75 briefly yesterday and quickly bounced back..

* I cautiously scanned thru today's price list.......and surprisingly, there wasn't many "reds" as may be expected.. shocked
* Some stocks reversed the shedding towards closing time...
* Can see only GTCO seriously beaten.....
* It is well. smiley

I laugh if you think a lot of farmers actually got that money, it’s called reallocating money to a different owner.
Money didn't get to quite a larger % of farmers.
They were diverting the funds.
The farmers were lamenting.

I am a bit liquid and considering my options:
1. Invest in NSE and load more FUGAZ (I wanted to do this but the rate hikes means I only love stocks that give >15% dividend returns)
2. Buy USD (At 720/$, I don't know if this is a good idea)
3. Buy T-Bills and stay liquid
4. Buy Bonds and get ~10% annually
5. Buy Crypto
6. Invest in land/property
Any suggestions? Open for comments
* For me, I'll still go on stocks...... smiley
* Some stocks are currently at >15% yield , some may join out of fear of interpretation/mis-interpretation of CBN's moves and fear of unknown, thereby making them more attractive.....
* Quite some inconsistency in Naija economic policies, and the fact that CBN can just wake up one day and bring up another policy again.....that may again alter things.....
** Campaign period is here and in less than 6 mths, we'll be done with it........we only pray it comes and goes smoothly........
** Thereafter, Dollar may not appreciate much higher again (already high @720 in my opinion self).....and buying at current price is risky....

** My amateurish opinion.... I no be Economics person. wink

**NB: Investing in land and properties in good area too is a good venture..

The problem I have with CBN and all these their silly language... banks help no one actually... yet they are always talking of silly I & E window and "mopping up liquidity" - whatever that means...
Ordinarily, this is supposed to slow down the inflation rate, reduce too much money in circulation and improve the economy..,...
..but it has its other side effects too because there are other measures that ought to go side-by-side with it, which doesn't seems to be in place for now.
My own little understanding of it o. smiley

We hope this campaign and election goes already, so we can at least feel relieved in the country.

The issue with mansard is about their ability to pay what they paid last year as dividend going forward.
The half year result was disappointing to say the least. Investors don't like uncertainty.
You're right sir.......but did you check Q2 or are you referring to Q2, 2022??
I know I'm an amateur but one thing I again look at is their peak periods too........but what do I know. smiley

please what can you say about Mansard and Custodian
Depends on your investment goals...
* Good for pick........
Mansard for Medium/Long termers......while Custodian is especially good for dividend hunters with long term in view.
Making use of low price opportunities in the market to be picking in tranches also good.

@1.60, Mansard is selling @0.40k (pre-reconstruction)
This is the same Mansard we queued to buy and 0.80k and couldn't get to buy that time.....if I still recollect very well). It's now selling @0.40k!

Post reconstruction opening price was 3.32 or so.....

Does it also apply to zenith bank too ?
All Registrars.

The good news is that, some Registrars are now making use of CSCS automated E-Dividend payment Window....
Meaning, you still get your Dividend paid even if you don't fill any form for the Registrars that already upgraded to this.
** However, you must have submitted a duly filled E-Div form to one or two registrars before, and that the form was accepted and uploaded in CSCS Window.

** Quite a handful of investors have received Dividends without filling any form to the particular Registrar at any point in time.

*** Cardinal Stone, EDC Registrars, Meristem, etc...are now paying thru the Automated Window.
*** Surprisingly, it seems ZENITH Registrar, VERITAS is also coming on board. smiley

Don't confuse looking with seeing.
ZENITH, FIDELITY...... tongue
ACCESS.....

As for VERITAS' name arrangement, VERITAS was very correct.
It has always been Surname first......
Followed by last name, then followed by middle name.

As it is, you have to write CSCS for name correction and carry your broker along in the process.

Pace Registrars has won the award of overall Worst Registrar in Nigeria.
This is the Registrar in charge of Japaul, Sterling Bank, Academy Press, and some other unpopular companies.
Even reputable companies in Nigeria have come to avoid Pace Registrar like a plague.
No such bad experience from my angle in the past.
In fact, I'll say Pace Registrars is one of the best ones.
Maybe if you can state your experience like someone said, it'll help understand what the matter was.

BTW, FIDELITY paid earlier than scheduled.......
Paid on 20th Sept instead of 30th earlier scheduled........A good one from FiDE. cool

Thanks a lot. I do not keep any cash with a stockbroking firm. I always buy to the last cash. It is the shares I have been wondering how to recover it. I do not have the required documents to make the transfer from a dead house. I bought the shares in 2010. 12 years ago.
The new broker you're moving to should make available the documents necessary for the transfer......in as much as the names on both active and inactive are the same.

....then discuss with your broker.
