House I ask again....any news on ARDOVA? Full bid again..
See October 20 post below....
yMcy56:
ARDOVA
Initial and usual denial??

https://dailytrust.com/ardova-clarifies-position-as-femi-otedolas-zenon-oil-wins-19-2m-judgement-over-forte-oil-sale
..
Judgement already made in favour of Otedola and some news carried it that Otedola is set to take over ARDOVA..... but ARDOVA claimed issue is btw ZENON Oil and Ignite or so.
Some people may have inside info or be pro-active by buying aforehand, in case the odd goes against ARDOVA.
** Don't know if ARDOVA appeal the judgement or not
**No concrete pointer yet.......to the public at least.
** Thing is: Otedola is planning to come back to the downstream industry
** You can just keep tab of happenings here....

** Caveat: Not any form of advice. Just market update**

I have some UBN shares ooo. What should I do ?
Upon all the UBN back and forth posts here? shocked
Una try.
Think you have the option to sell on the floor before suspension is placed on it, because Titan already started payment of exit price to investors........
OR risk going with Titan.......and the risk includes forfeiting your shares eventually.

The ones that will give the 100% easily have been overlooked....... tongue
Not saying those ones won't or may not deliver something o, but note the "easily" deliver in my post...........lol.
Besides, some of the coys in the list are high already @ their given prices, so giving 70-100% will be very tasking.........Except there's XXXL gigantic bull from Burundi smiley

Oga so you didn't take any action since the exit price was announced in October or so??

Some people are stuck with their shares and unable to participate in the MTO (I don't want to go into details on a public forum).
You know this right?
Don't really know.......but can only wish them all the best.
Maybe they could have spoken with the Registrar to know the way out of it sha.

My concern is that, TITAN plans to own 100% of UBN shares. They bought all the majority shareholders out, so why would a tashere minority holder wants to keep holding unto it?
What if they end up forfeiting those shares?
Did you consider such option as well??
Did you read thru the MTO offer document??

Just spoke to them now , i have few units of union bank bought 2004 and few months ago , the lady said its going to be delisted
I have to fill a form or something
what do u think sis
Did you ask if they're re-listing on NASDAQ?
Pls find out.....and if not, I'll advice you sell to Titan..
Or how do you plan to sell in future if they're not re-listing or even paying better dividends?

In fact, to me, my advice is fill the form and "Sell" to Titan. This kind of hope of holding on to it has its inherent risks.
Overall decision is yours sir.

These sellers and cross dealers just dey vex anyhow.....

All these 555Ks, 665Ks are from the background...... Watching what their mission actually is.......but by the time they're satisfied now, all the stories of rate hike, election palava, dollar/naira, charts, will then be meaningless, we'll now be wondering what has changed...... smiley
Who says money and power doesn't control this market? Lol.
October 13 post.
So, suddenly the market is not obeying all the different theories about elections, rate hikes and what-what again. Charts also making U-turn....... Interesting.. grin

I think he is right. Not everyone can be an nse technocrat like you.
Oga Tolu, does someone have to be a Technocrat to invest? Lol.
@Phlinx outrightly condemned investing as a whole.

Seems some are looking at the worst aspect of loosing money. What about the best part too?

Earlier sited a relative's loss on UBN purchased at much higher price.......but there was another good investment also made in Nestle.
NESTLE was purchased @254 naira. Today, Nestle is trading above N1,000.......over 15 years of collecting dividends....... Whatever is left there is all gain now, and Gain Is giving way for more gains.

Well, let me leave the discussion for the elders who's been on the investment path with divers experiences to comment on..... smiley
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56:
ositadima1:
He has a point though, same NB that sold at over 150 in 2013, 2014, 2015 and briefly in 2017 is now selling bellow 50. A novice should never go into d market without extensive analysis. I was lucky (maybe not) to enter d market just after COVID bears.

In my opinion, a first timer should acquire d closing prices for a stock he is interested in buying dating back to 10 years minimum and never buy if price is close to historical peak in addition to coming here for enquiry.
You also have a point.
One of the reasons I mentioned ZENITH and/or GTCO too.
These ones may not be aggressive in growth but consistency in payment of Dividend is it for me, especially for the long term duration mentioned. They've been increasing the dividend payout overtime too......cos I did some checks on both not too long ago.

I recently assisted a close relative in downloading, filling and submitting Union Bank form for Mandatory Take-over and I could easily relate to the example you sited.
The UBN shares were purchased at around N29/per share or thereabout.....
Has been there for more than 20yrs, bought at different prices (with one IPO in 1995 or so.......
* How many times did UBN pay Dividends within those years? Doubt if it's up to 5 times......
* Worst part, the buyer offered to buy the share over @ paltry N7 in 2022!!

So investing in some stocks for long term needs serious due dilligence and experts advice before you dabble into it.
Long term is different from short term or Jijo-ing.

One good thing now though, is the digital era, whereby one can easily monitor and track his investments, compared to the old analogue period whereby all activities reside solely with the broker and brokerage firms. No more trading in "darkness", except for those who chose to......or are ignorant.
