What about lasaco and mansard should I keep them or sell
Lasaco and Mansard are good insurance Coys to align with. Though there has been decline in their share price of recent........general market situation mostly responsible......

For Mansard, if you can wait it out, it's fine. If you have spare funds to average down @1.80 or below, it's good.........Mansard's fundamentals are very okay, just required patience.....if you're not in urgent need of the fund, it will deliver at the right time.

As for Lasaco, year 2021 was a bit challenging for the company, lots of claims paid and all that (End SARS issues et all).......this was reflected in their financial reports and it chopped much into the profit......hence, no Dividend for 2021 FYE......
Notwithstanding, Lasaco remains a good insurance coy to watch out for.......because Q1 and Q2, 2022 showed a lot of improvement, it's just a matter of time and patience for it to start delivering again.

Picking Lasaco @circa 0.90k is a good bargain in my opinion......that's like picking Lasaco @0.22/0.23k....

While picking Mansard @1.80 is like picking it @0.45k!! Even touched 1.74k! Cheap in my opinion.

Please look closely at the financial books and operations of these 9 firms, and see if they are really showing any signs of growth......
1. Coronation Insurance
2. Universal Insurance Company
3. Standard Alliance Insurance
4. Standard Trust Assurance
5. Niger Insurance Company
6. International Energy Insurance
7. Guinea Insurance
8. Goldlink Insurance
9. African Alliance Insurance
Seems I was misunderstood in my response to this poster with regards to Insurance Sector.
Response was particularly addressed to above list of insurance firms, whereby I mentioned that......aside WAPIC, Universal and Afrinsure.......others are ailing.

Oga @Onegentleguy , I wasn't in any way referring to all quoted insurance firms but the above listed in particular.
Sovereign Trust is good of course.

Someone should please relieve me by buying my stocks in Guinea Insurance ooo
Lol. You may have to keep Guinea in your "bad debt" acct for now, to be written off OR hopeful that maybe some day, miracle can happen. smiley
For IEI, they got buyer for it and will be buying it 100%, what a respite for the shareholders. Buying price not yet out anyway.

Hope you didn't have most of those 9 insurance stocks listed in your post ?
Aside WAPIC, Universal and Afrinsure, all others are in ICU and needed some intervention to stay alive.

As for why WAPIC didn't change to Coronation, WAPIC is also Coronation nah, just change of name......and I think maybe they left WAPIC as the name cos it's become like the trademark or something.
Just my opinion.

I am also of the opinion that if they sell the unissued shares either by rights issue or allocation to existing major shareholder and use the funds to reduce debt, it may also impact on their bottom line and consequently the share price..
Please, I don't know if I am right about this.
Oh!! You're very correct.
Thought you asked with respect to effect on share price alone.

what do you think if this Neimeth PLC Right Issues of ordinary shares......Is it a good bargain to key in for medium term?
Not really keen about right issues.....most times self, price on the floor will be cheaper than right issue price, so to me, it's always better to pick on the floor......but needs to pick at very good bargain.
Do your DD.

Mcy, what could be the effect of each of the options to be deliberated on during the AGM as regards the unissued shares.
No effect as such.......but if the option is bonus issue, the announcement could increase investors appetite for the stock and lead to price appreciation.

Dividend is a scam. Dividend is a trap. Avoid it if you can.
Lol. Long termers and also Dividend lovers may not totally agree with you on this.
If I may ask, since when have you started investing?

** Anyway, you see this dividend issue, from my Newbie's perspective and what I've learnt, it highly depends on availability of fund/cash flow, the type of investor you chooses to be and the strategy you employ in dealing with such situation.
** Market situation is also a determinant.
** One thing I've noticed that's common with majority investors is impatience and fear. We want everything moving quick quick, doesn't work like that most of the time.

1. Long/medium termers don't enter market or stocks anyhow........they carry out their Due Diligence on particular stock (or pick due to reliable recommendation and wait patiently for the dip before jumping on the bus.
See Nahco for instance, some loaded it at around N2/2.50. Do you think those ones will agree with you that Dividend is scam even after markdown for bonus and Dividend?

2. For short termers, if you have enough fund you can buy within short period, qualify for Dividend and dispose off the stock within short period. How?? By averaging down when it bottoms after markdown and sell shortly. Nahco still a case study. smiley

3. Note that some stocks are seasonal, if you buy these ones, you'll need a drug load of patience to wait for it..... they're not very liquid but can deliver with right entry and patience.
McNichols for instance required spare fund and enough patience to wait for it. Some people picked @60k+ and later sold @2+.

The epistle still get different dimensions but make I stop here.
E get one illiquid penny stock wey I don dey folow for quite sometimes self, the recent sell off sent it below N1, but due to its seasonal nature, I cannot mention it.

**NB: Anyone that tells you he/she hasn't lose in this biz is not telling you the truth, even the so called experts. Only try to learn from it and be learning**

explain the highlighted part. I was thinking the bonus shares would be added to the portfolio to increase the number of shares.
It will still be added but it won't be immediate like that.
The bonus will still need approval from SEC, after then it will be added to your CSCS, then you can contact your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.

Should I sell off my shares in Multiverse?
As for McNichols, 3rd August was supposed to be payment date. Whosoever has received should pls post here.
As for bonus, that would be later later when they receive approval from SEC. Once it's approved, it will reflect in your CSCS statement.

Good deal IMO.
We've discussed about this here when the news first came out.......
They're picking just 0.10% which is very small.
Don't go and buy Eterna higher o..........
How many shareholders can they possibly picked from?
The take-over bid is in compliance with SEC rule by Preline Ltd ...i.e. also picking from other shareholders.
Shareholders who shows interest will be picked randomly and offer pro-rated.

That JAPAUL dey surprise me too oo. grin
Was waiting @20k, though from 0.21/0.23k would have been a good deal.
Anyway, it may just be those that are positioning for possible surprise it usually brings OR maybe they have info not yet privy to public.......
...BUT from my own quarter, nothing is driving it yet. No news yet. Was following on all their documents upload and there's no signal so far.

As for HONEYWELL, it's glaring nah.
I knew and even told someone to buy @circa N2, that it will rally......didn't post it here directly cos I don't want insult should it not go according to plan.

In my opinion, the 1% Mandatory take over from FMN was a major driver. Another important aspect is the fact that, should FMN decide to buy-out the remaining shareholders today, it wasn't expected to be less than 4.20.......and Honeywell @N2 was a good bargain.
* Though result was poor but the take-over seems to take priority over the result.
* Dangflour was an example.

This is just my opinion. wink

*** DISCLAIMER: Honeywell rally may be temporal because FMN is buying over just 1% of the remaining <24% or so. If looking for bargain, you may watch out for another price shedding to key-in. Jumping in at price above today's......is at owner's risk........anyone inside the bus at higher price may have to be patient.

What are some of these "stocks to be" pls?
They are there on the Exchange......but the type of investor you are will determine which ones are suitable to you.
They are mostly the dividend paying stocks with sound fundamentals anyway, suitable for long termers especially......but remember they're not cast in stones.

please can you enlighten me more about this.
The last 100,000 (or above 100k units) for a trading day determines the price.

Market closes at 2.30pm, the last 100k determines the price movt either up or down.
ZENITH closed @21 on the said date.

kudos for ur great effort.
I commend mtn registrars. They declare dividend on 29th july, qualification date 18th August, payment date 26th August.
Unlike some companies that declare dividend in May, qualification in july and payment in september
Very commendable!
So also Custodian.
There are some stocks that are just stocks to be. If they dip and there's money, na to just keep buying more.......
We should however commend all dividend paying companies irrespective; despite the unfriendly economic environment, ability to make profit and declare Dividend should be commended. smiley

Yes. Honeywell moved from below N1 (maybe 0.83k or so) to Circa N4.....before coming down again.

Flour Mills purchased huge stake in HONEYWELL and there's an update from FMN for mandatory take over of 1% to meet regulatory requirements.
We don't know what will later later happen to the remaining shareholders, maybe there could then be merger or so.
