I wrote them a mail minutes ago.
I earlier sent an order to buy a stock for me at a limit price of #1.50k and #1.80k. The best best offer was #1.80k while the best bid was #1.50k. I bidded for the best offer because the bid outweighed the offer.

So, they ignored my Price Limit and bought for me at #2.04k ! Can you imagine? Even as i am writing now, the price of the stock is #1.98k ! .

Oga Tolu, maybe they got it for you a bit higher than what you considered as the "N1.80 best offer", say around 1.90 for instance.
By the time they spread your purchase commission on it, your cost price may move up to that N2.04......especially if involved large units.
Just saying ooo, I don't use Meristem...........just used Morgan idea.
That's why you need to always include "price limit" if they're buying/selling on your behalf.
Maybe you need to carry out some checks and ask them questions/clarification.

I no dey sure say Meristem commission reach GTI Securities Limited own. Those guys commission na die.

GTI commission is low compared to Meristem.
Maybe you're transacting with large fund.......but that should even make you to negotiate it a bit down with them.
Maybe you need to recheck to be sure you're not been over-charged. Pay attention to the transaction and the commission they used to deduct on each transaction.
.......Speaking from past experience on the last statement.......though it was an error that time and was corrected.

Those Meristem users have the carriage of "we are above issues" because they pay higher fees and believed their broker is the best......

Thank God it's not Morgan, you would have read different 'mockery' comments like......."when you like cheap things", what do you expect when you pay so low for a service,.........etc.

I can remember one time like that: Someone came to make inquiry of which broker to use and he mentioned the likely big amount he wished to invest.........they "cropped" Morgan out and were mentioning the likes of Stanbic, Meristem............na me come say hahaaa, why you no mention Morgan Capital nah? I come mention am........

If it's last year you bought the shares, it means it was before the closure date and definitely it should be interim dividend because the final dividend proposed by the directors still has 8th of March 2021 as qualification date. You are getting it now because they concluded the processing of the e mandate you sent earlier.

There is some error there oo. Same for me. Your units did not reduce in your brokers account but the units have reduced on your cscs account. the brokers are now updating some of the clients account. The whole thing is a big mess. People are seeing big profits but no be soo.. Dont know how they will sort this out for those that sold based on old reconstruction units..

Should we now say the coy didn't carry the brokers along......in terms of circulars and all that?

They must have mandated/approved your dividend form.
You can only confirm once dividend is paid to your account...
OR
Give it some time, then send a soft reminder. They've got a lot of clients to attend to.

a bit concerned about putting ones bvn on an e-form...what do you think? Then the last part about signature..how does one handle it?

Nothing to worry about.
Remember your approved mandate will be linked to your bank account for payment of Dividends and there's the need to verify its you.
Also note that the form will be uploaded for your bank to endorse too, so BVN is very necessary to establish the link.

I can remember posting about pullback or thereabout at that junction .........when some of my Ogas here were projecting 40.
Anyway, you still entered at a very good junction, you may wait to collect dividend before selling, Wapco used to release result around Mar/Apr (May be earlier this year though) .........but remember it depends on Market situation before then. You keep watching price mvmt.

No one can accurately predict the market like earlier said, any policy/events may just surface to make or mar the market.
It's better to expect anything and take pro-active measures.
Wapco reversed up a bit towards closing....to close @26.
If you're sitting on profit and your motive is for capital appreciation, you can sell it to pick at better bargain again........but if you are for long term, you may still sell or leave it.

**Pls note that the tide may also change to positive again, monitor price mvmt as well**

With the way the market reacted at exactly 1:00pm. Investors might have seen the stop rates. Sell offs becoming way aggressive before the market hibernation period

One thing is: the market can be unpredictable, tomorrow the tide may change again...........those jumping out this minute may start jumping in the next minute.........
I've not really seen any significant thing causing the sell off........ especially when dividends are around the corner.
Well, the better for bargain hunters....
