It's more like a trade by barter......."You owe me money, you don't have means of paying, then opted to pay me with what you have (Shares), I agreed to collect and let the matter slide; then I decided to distribute the shares to my loyalists" 😊

That's my understanding of it.

I think investors should start treating OANDO like an investment henceforth, just like Street said.

Background
Ansbury was involved in a dispute with Whitmore Asset Management Limited in 2019. This dispute led to Whitmore buying out Ansbury's interest in Ocean and Oil Development Partners Limited (OODP) as a full and final settlement.

The restructuring involves Whitmore transferring its 60% shareholding in OODP, equivalent to nearly 4.3 billion Oando shares, to Oando as settlement for a $325 million debt.

Share Restructuring
Shares Outstanding: 12.4 billion
Therefore, 4.3 billion shares, or 34.68%, will be equally distributed to other shareholders.

The remaining 65.3% will now represent 100% of the equity.
As a result, 1 share post-restructuring increases to:
100% / 65.3% = 1.53.

This means 1 share becomes equivalent to 1.53 shares, or approximately 3 shares for every 2 shares.

Due date
An amendment to the share distribution plan was approved during the AGM, requiring Oando to provide a five-day notice to shareholders before any distribution occurs...

* This bonus will be pro-rated....e.g. 1:10 (1 new for every 10 held or as the company deems fit (na example I give here ooo)
* This bonus shares came about as a result of debts owing OANDO by one of the debtors
* The initial plan was to pay this debt to Oando in a space of 15yrs ....But..
* They opted to pay in kind and with shares.......I think by forfeiting some of their OANDO shares.....
* This forfeited shares will then be distributed to shareholders
* Qualification Date is today OR within 5 days after today.
* This will be communicated to shareholders soon

** This is my understanding of it so far....
We will get more clarity when meeting outcome is out.
