golor: Good evening all , pls I am not trying to be tribalistic but I have been observing u hardly see a northern graduate rooming the street looking for job . Is it that upon graduation they easily get government or state job once applied! What's the secret .
Well, as for those applying for this frsc ...put north as ur state of origin, put any local government u see on the data base and use ur current state of location as ur physical verification center ... Once u are being shortlisted tell them it was a system error that u fill this and that only for u to be seeing this error they won't disqualify u rather they will resolve u whereas ur name is out ..let's try this and see how it goes
How will they roam the streets when there are little or no factories or industries to employ them. No wonder they rush down south even from Nigér
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has taken a swipe at the American Court that ordered the arrest of DCP Abba Kyari, and dismissed what it described as “the attempted intimidation of a police officer right inside his independent fatherland”.
In a statement signed by the group’s National President, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, AYCF sounded a note warning that “nothing must happen to him( DCP Kyari)”.
The group rejected the purported plan to arrest DCP Kyari, describing the move by the FBI as “totally unacceptable, a slap on the sensibility of our compatriots and a ridicule on one of our finest crack detectives”.

The group said it would keep a tab on the happenings on the matter, stressing that there was no justification for “singling out one of Nigeria’s most effective and efficient police officers for castigation.”

AYCF, therefore, urged “all Nigerians who are truly patriotic to stand behind a man who has made an unrivalled mark on the sands of time by diligently serving his fatherland.”
They called on relevant stakeholders in the country, especially civil society organizations to “rally round this officer who risked his life in multiple operations across Nigeria, a fact proved many times through BBC news coverage of such operations”.
Clowns everywhere, can you imagine the same mouth you guys used to beg USA for money you are using it to abuse them for touching a police Tailor and associate of scammers just because he is a northerner
zanshi: One thing they never told us back in Uni was how to maximise networking well enough in our social circle for career advancement, Ahmadu Bello University amongst a few, seems to be only higher level institution in my opinion that has utilized career networking to the fullest , ensuring every ex student of theirs is pushed to the top of their careers. You see them everywhere from ex ministers to governors to directors in federal government parastalls. That is to say, there must be something aside academia that is being instilled in Ahmadu Bello University students that makes them strive for excellence outside the four walls of the university.
I would like to trim my focus of Gen-Z and Millennials as to how we can do better in this regard. I went to a good private school both for High school and University, and i can tell you for a fact that i only maintain decent relationship with a few of my ex classmates and this is partly because some silly reasons some still hold dear to their hearts, ego, malice to name a few. Even when i was in high school i never got along with all of my classmate even though i feel some of them behave obnoxious, silly and arrogant. University wasn't any different a lot of boys in my class never really mingled with any of our classmates even when i reach out to some of my friends and ask if they heard from any of our ex classmates, they say aside from me, they haven't heard from anyone else. I have also tried reaching to classmates i haven't heard from and the experience left a sour taste in my mouth because some of them feel you are practically doing too much. While this are situations that i have experienced, this is not far fetched from what a lot of my friends in my circle have experienced too.
One important lesson i learnt from networking with people is that it can plug you into a plethora of opportunities you may never have taught of. I made my first million supplying Agro allied by reaching out to someone who kept telling me "NO" more than 3 times and when i wen to him the fourth, he taught to the A to Z of the trade. A friend of my dad who worked in cooperate finance as a mid level staff got to work with people installing mast in eastern Nigeria by just reaching out to a friend back in high school, today as i speak, he got built his mansion under 3 months which was worth about N70m. I
Opportunities abound around us dear young people, but if we can put ego aside and be willing to work as part of something that brings value, regardless of whether we get credit for it or not. One other lesson young should also try and imbibe is that we may at certain point in our lives drop the "Solo" mentality of me doing it by myself and no help needed and be willing to join forces to bring a business or idea to life. Financing a business these days is tough work, and we should be willing to join our resources with others to bring a business into life. A lot of young people also need to create the "atmosphere to be accessible", the wrong attitude can fend people off of your because they may find your attitude too toxic for them.
I kept emphasizing on this to my classmates back during my undergraduates university days they mocked me. For me I realized that I am 20 years ahead of my mates so I flow with the older generation more and it greatly benefits me
shegsone: Hello fam, Please I would appreciate if anyone can help me with the name of a software or app i can use to develop a universal admob app aside from sketchware. thank you very much in anticipation.
FatimaAbubakar: This our useless son called Abba Kyari. He keeps disgracing us up and down, knowing fully well that we are already a laughing stock to many Nigerians because of our backwardness and wicked ways
but he was your wonderful son before. I am just sad for the innocent souls he and his team wasted through SARS
FalseProphet1: I see him being released and sent abroad for rehabilitation, I see the government spending millions on him daily on him, I see Nigerians lamenting, I see Gumi defending the government's action, I see him going back to that shop to buy the sex enhancement drug but this time he will be coming there with police escort, I see a trailer load of oloshos struggling to go home with him.
This I have seen.
This your type of false prophet dey see original vision oh, abeg which camera u dey use?
Absquare20: I will be 30 next year but look 20 or 22 in stature. Am skinny light and no beads but average height.
I completed my NYSC service last year June came to Abuja January to stay with my uncle whom I believed is well connected in some areas. I have gone to several interview but at the end it will end up to be job of 30k or 25k which doesn't cover up my transport fare. If I even tell my uncle he will tell me to ignore them.
I got tired of the whole job haunting stuff and interview. Instead of staying idle I used my savings to enrol for web development class (HTML CSS Bootstrap WordPress PHP and My SQL).. Which I completed last week.
Now my problem is this.. I have been worrying, My plans are falling, I don't want to be depending on anybody, I need to have my own accommodation and cater for my needs myself. So I have been thinking of any state that I can go without the aid of anyone to start life even if it means doing sales boy before I get myself back on track or if there is any company in Abuja that has an IT firm looking for intern...lest I forget I am a graduate of Mass Communication..
Bro go for the 30 to 35k job, forget about your connected uncle for now, we are in Buhari time. What I will tell you is change your job every year. Learn a side skill that can pay you another 10 to 20k monthly then scale up. The good thing about jobs is that they are doors that can open you up to other opportunities. The most important question is do you have an exit strategy in all of your endeavors?
Workch: It’s no surprise that I am an atheist, but one thing people don’t know about me is that I was a Christian for 28years. Yes 28years.
I was not just a Christian, I had full membership in my church and was a member of the choir. I was born into a Christian home, we had morning and evening devotions everyday as a child. My dad personally tried indoctrinating us a lot, we read the Bible every single day and then he explains but seriously even as a child a lot of the stories didn’t add up but I was scared that I was being blasphemous. I remember a day my dad was teaching us about Noah’s flood and then we got to that point where god said he’s using the rainbow as a sign to remind humanity that he would never destroy earth with flood. Even as a 9years old, that part didn’t make sense to me, because I see it in the news frequently of flood destroy farms, properties and even killing people. I asked my dad and he didn’t give me a reasonable explanation. As a teenager, I started teaching Sunday school to kids in the church, I taught them that god never change but in my mind, I wasn’t convinced because while reading the Bible, there many instances of god changing his mind and even regretting his decisions. I always think about it that the god of Old Testament seems different from what is portrayed in the New Testament, something changed. I kept a lot of things to myself because people around were so religious and would quickly rebuke me for such reasoning. As time goes on, I joined the choir, I learn drums and keyboard, I sang choir ministrations and even wrote songs for my church choir. All these while, it wasn’t clear, I was just scared to come out fully.
I got admitted into the university to study biochemistry. Being someone that is very inquisitive, I started asking so many questions in respect to the relationship between living organisms. After having background knowledge in genetics, molecular biology and biological metabolism, it was clear that every living thing are the same basically. At this point, I didn’t even understand the theory of evolution properly but I had seen the a fairly clear picture. I had to go back and then study the theory of evolution properly (took weeks), because the impression I had from secondary school was that an ape turned into human. Our biology teachers, just like every other biology teachers in Nigerian schools, were so bad at teaching the theory of evolution. Seems like a lot of them didn’t even understand it.
Fast forward, I graduated, I still believed god existed. since after I properly studied the theory of evolution, I started holding the notion that God presided over evolution and the Bible is somehow consistent with the theory of evolution. This idea was born out of the sheer fear of not wanting to sound blasphemous to my beloved ones. After I graduated, I started reading wide, I didn’t like physics in school but I started reading physics (specifically quantum and astrophysics), I discovered about Big Bang theory, theory of relativity, string theory etc, it took a lot of time before I could grasp them but when I did, it became clearer that the Bible is not consistent with anything in reality.
It was difficult for me to accept this truth because I didn’t want to be seen as a blasphemer, not until I had the opportunity to run my masters degree abroad in clinical biochemistry. I met with lot of renown and brilliant people in the field of biochemistry. They were realistic in their beliefs and will not believe anything unless you can back it with evidence. I became bolder with time, we shared ideas as I studied. Th society gives everyone liberty and I was very free to come out clean with my realistic traits. A lot of my lecturers didn’t believe in god. I became a full fledged atheist in Europe by the time I finished my program.
Today, I have done several personal works and I still keep reading to find the truth, so far I haven’t seen anything consistent with the Christian God. I am back in Nigeria and trust me, I don’t have lot of friends for this reason. I have just two friends and they are both agnostic ( I made them agnostic because they are open minded and also brilliant Phd holders in biochemistry).
The books you read have finally confused you, let me be sincere I believe I went farther than you, please do not allow knowledge that are just fact to deceive you
