Travel / Re: I Think The Most Beautiful Places In Africa Are: by yoruba: 8:52am On Jan 20, 2010 |
joseeric:I disagree, there are a lot of beautiful landlocked cities especially in South Africa like Paarl(Known for its fruit orchards), Pretoria(known as the Jacaranda city), Stellenbosch(known for its vineyards and wine routes), and those in between small towns that international tourists normally go to. My point is you don't need a coastline to make a city look beautiful. Overall, Seychelles is the most beautiful place in Africa and I'm thinking to have my honeymoon there, hmmm |

I guess u are learning how to talk, Nigeria a terrorist state? If the USA had done their job the silly boy wouldn't have boarded the flight to start with.I guess you know alot of your beloved Nigeria, all across the world people scamper for safety whenever a Nigerian is around while ironically I was just reading a thread about it. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-375248.160.html I think Nigerians could do alot better with there time than drug smuggling, 419ing, prostituting, religious killing, corrupt leading and the list is just endless, Heck I even asked for Nigeria's crime stat, but knowing how much corrupt there institution is I suppose I'll never get it. If South Africa do what Zimbabwe did and get rid of White farmers and their communities then Zimbabwe will be heaven compared to South Africa. And I'm sure that applies the same for Nigeria, just yesterday I was just doing my research for the Quality of life index between South Africa and Nigeria(SA scored higher) I find that its interesting to know that Nigeria had a lower score for Safety and Security meaning that the overpopulated slum(Nigeria) is more dangerous than South Africa. How many NGOs and celebs trooping to SA to donate money and other materials? But in Nigeria, we work for it, we don't depend on donations from all over the world to survive. Nigeria fought to give SA freedom, just like we did for Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Congo and still doing it till todayWhy would anyone invest in a corrupt society like Nigeria? And I'm sick and tired of hearing how much Nigeria fought to give SA freedom while they actually did nothing. Has there ever been a Nigerian soldier who died in South African shores during apartheid? I guess its typical of a Nigerian to claim something that is non-existent, that's why you failing to except that you are a terrorist nation. And speaking of your military, where were they when MEND was busy attacking the Niger Delta? While you thinking about that, do your research about the South African Special Operations Unit, according to the BBC they say the have in the toughest training regime the world(more tougher than the US Navy) they have been operating all over Africa and Nigeria in 1996. U know nothing about Nigeria, some of u are just full of jealous. Many victims of 419 are just as bad as the 419ners themselves Who in what world would be jealous of a FAILED STATE? Nigeria is an overpopulated failed state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Failed_States_Index

Hopefully in the World Cup, SA will put some extra security on Nigerian fans. Nobody would want a world cup plagued with terrorism. @Justwise Did you read my previous comment, and also can I get a recent crime stat of Nigeria. Not to compare but I just want to see how much terrorism there is. |

Top ten worst place to live in: 1. Sierra Leone: It's the poorest country in Africa and its the poorest country in the world, it has very poor standards of living and the average life expectancy for males is 35 and for females its 38 it has no infrasctruce a dirt poor and run down useless economy and its a war torn country and is very dangerous and it doesnt have a proper health care system and only the capital city Freetown has hospitals which are very run down. 2. Somalia: It's a dirt poor corrupt violent and chaotic country in anarchy and its extremely poor and extremely dangerous and half the population are starving. 3. Nigeria: It has an extremely high crime rate and an extremely high murder rate and is very poor and very corrupt and has very poor standards of living. 4. Liberia: It's war torn violent and chaotic and crime ridden and is extremely poor and unstable. 5. Swaziland: it has the worst aids epidemic in the world and its population are on the verge of extinction due to the aids epidemic and of course like most African countries its poor and corrupt and unstable. 6. Iraq: What a hell hole its become with the on going war and political and economic instability. 7. Afgahnistan: It's a war ridden extremely impoverished dessert wasteland s h i t hole of a country. 8. Colombia: It's so dangerous there that you cant even walk down the street in broad daylight without having the fear of being robbed or shot or stabbed and its a country which is ruined by poverty crime drugs civil warfare and corruption and it has the worlds highest murder rate and one of the worlds highest kidnapping rates to and living there would be a nightmare. 9. Algeria: Is extremely dangerous and has alot of terrorism and crime and lots of barbarism and horrific killings. 10. Zimbabwe: That poor country has become an absoloute basketcase and its all because of that evil tyrant Mugabe who has completely screwed up the country by causing the economy to collapse and by causing everything else to collapse such as the living conditions health care education system, and his land reform policy where all white farmers have been kicked off their lands and the lands where then given to black squatters which have caused the farm lands to turn into waste has caused an outbreak of famine throughout the entire country and half the population of the country are now starving because of it. Not only that the country is a dictatorship and people are constantly being rounded up arrested beaten tortured and executed for expressing their freedom and for opposing the government. |

@Banom, I dont understand what makes you think Nigeria is better than South Africa, I mean its obviously that Nigeria is a FAILED PHUCKED UP CORRUPT RUN STATE. Everybody around the world loves stepping on Nigerians(i.e District 9 and thats not the first movie that portrays Nigerians like that), they pollute the world with there drugs and corruption then they expect to think that they are the giants of Africa. For an overpopulated slum like Nigeria I wonder who gives a rats-backside about it? |

Nigerians are known internationally that they full of crap, its so bad that they started a "rebranding commision" but its obvious nobody gives a toss about it. I mean there are Nigerian druglords and prostitutes in the streets of Hillbrow, Johannesburg. They get reported every now and then in the news for the multi-million drug scams. In England, there are everywhere causing crap(i.e Peckham) and that goes along with USA, China and elsewhere in the world.(Invading other countries with illegal foreign documents causing crap) On the internet they have become the kings 419 scams ask Obama. I assure you the world would've been a better place if it wasn't for the corrupt 419aijers. |

Music/Radio / Re: Any House Music Listeners On Nairaland? by yoruba: 8:01am On Nov 18, 2009 |
Tribal house is a form of electronic dance music derived from house music but being highly drum-centric and often without a core melody. In many tribal house tracks, it is rare to find a core melody or prolonged synth sound, such as those found in house music and similar electronic music styles. Instead, tribal house tracks rely on sophisticated drum patterns for their rhythm. A track can consist of several different drum sounds. There is no clear-cut definition of tribal house music, instead tracks are usually classified or perceived as tribal because of their live sound. Tribal house is reminiscent of the ethnic music of various tribes of Africa and South America, and it is not unusual for this music to feature chanting and ululation as a cappellas. Tribal music can be produced with either live (ie. with real drums and instruments) or digital instrumentation: however, live-produced music of this sort in the purest sense is seen as ethnic, while digital tribal music is called 'tribal house'. Tribal house is a fusion of various styles of electronic dance music (see Latin House and African House), and can range from uplifting and cheerful to dark and aggressive in mood. It can sometimes distort the boundaries between dark house, which is an offshoot of progressive house, and tech-house, a more techno-like, yet jazzy kind of house, as if mixing intelligent dance music and minimal techno. Tribal music can be produced in such a way that it absorbs the characteristics of all styles of house music. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribal_house |
Music/Radio / Re: Any House Music Listeners On Nairaland? by yoruba: 7:58am On Nov 18, 2009 |
House is a style of electronic dance music that originated in Chicago, Illinois, USA in the early 1980s. It was initially popularized in discothèques catering to the African-American, Latino American communities in Chicago. It eventually spread to other parts of the U.S. including New York City, New Jersey, and Detroit. It eventually reached Europe before becoming infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide. House is strongly influenced by elements of soul- and funk-infused varieties of disco. House generally mimics disco's percussion, especially the use of a prominent bass drum on every beat, but may feature a prominent synthesizer bassline, electronic drums, electronic effects, funk and pop samples, and reverb- or delay-enhanced vocals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_music |
