Travel › Re: Should I Go For NYSC Or Continue My Journey Abroad? by Yoshy: 4:05pm On Mar 16, 2018
bonjelow:
Hello Everyone,
I am a fresh graduate from a reputable Federal Polytechnic in Nigeria, I graduated in 2017 and I am supposed to go for youth service this year (2018 Batch A Corps) which will commence soon. But I have an issue bothering me which I need a good advice on.

Last year 2017 my sister who is in USA for close to 12 years wanted me to come and hustle abroad but it's not easy for youth to go there but through schooling, so she helped me to find a good public University to do Masters, I have done the necessary processing and I have been offered an admission for the Fall Semester starting August 2018, my Visa has also been granted.

The issue on ground now is that I want to have the NYSC certificate, probably if I can runs it as a ghost Corper and get the certificate on my behalf or if an exemption can be possible.

Please I need your sincere advice. Thanks.
OP run, run run oo don't look back. Between, I will like some info on how you did it (the admission stuff)

I saw my script today and a lot of things were not marked for me, she threatened me with school security if I ever come to her office. I don't even know where to start from.
Were you able to take a picture of the script? Your school must have a complaint authority or something, but before that, go to any lecturer you're close to and tell him the whole thing, seek his advice/help on what to do. ( It's ideal to go to a disciplined lecturer/prof, someone your HOD can listen to)

How is this witch hunting? The question we should ask is if he actually committed the crime. If he did, then no witch hunting whatsoever. From the evidences tendered by efcc, I am convinced that he ate our yam. The money he and his cohort stole would have restored our hospitals to world standard. So let him enjoy himself. Once he travels, then that is the end of the case.
I beg to differ, he is not guilty until it's proven in the court of law and you my friend do not have all the evidence, so keep kwayet.

If you can fight it. Request to see your script and let it be remarked by another lecturer.

That is if you're not the one at fault here.

Politics › Lagos Will Fail by Yoshy(op): 12:01pm On Mar 14, 2018
My simple opinion:

With this outrageous anti people law newly enacted in Lagos State, people are going to move and move for good this time.

Already in the East for instance there are massive development of real estates going on. If Akwa Ibom seaport and other recent infrastructure projects are finished, Lagos will have a lot to loose for good. Already, smart business men are seeing Akwa Ibom as the future.

Ambode and co should be aware of the damage they are about to do to Lagos State. Between, I think it's time Lagosians give another party a chance.

Safe face, which face. I am not one of those that blindly support people. As a Yoruba man, I do not like awolowo, but to lie against him is what I hate. Is Robert a Yoruba man. Cos you people always believed what your people told you. It shows when kanu told you you are Jew from Israel and you all swallowed it.
Okay, you are connecting more dots and exposing yourself the more, please go ahead...I'm reading..

Whether I call him hero or not, stop peddling lie against him. We have heard what happened from foreigner Robert S Goldstein that walked with ojukwu in his letter. Awoo is not a saint but you people too dey lie Abeg. What that guy said is a complete truth about what happened in UI then. God is not foolish remember.
How you manage to bring G-d into this still baffles me..Bring your points and not vaguely say things to garner sentiments.

Throwback:
Yes he was made vice principal of the University College Ibadan ahead of the most senior African on the academic board and first ever Nigerian professor, Prof. Oladele Ajose.

Dike's appointment was facilitated by the Igbo dominated NCNC who had also installed Dr Akanu Ibiam who was the first Igbo doctor, as the School Council chairman. While Oladele Ajose was most senior and readily available at the school, Dike was called back from the USA where he was on an unfinished sabbatical, to come take a position he wasn't the most qualified for.

When the British eventually withdrew their administration of the he school, Akanu Ibiam as School Council Chairman, further ensured that Kenneth Dike who was a fellow Igbo like him, became the first Nigerian principal of University College Ibadan. Professor Oladele Ajose realised that he was forever going to remain a victim of the NCNC and Igbo version of "merit" system that only found the Igbos qualified for positions that their better educated and more experienced Yoruba superiors did not qualify for. Ajose read the Igbo writing on the wall and moved to the Western Region owned University of I've, to become its first principal.

Prof Kenneth Dike and Akanu Ibiam led school council would eventually go on to conduct recruitment into UI after the departure of the British. Out of 115 new hires, only 3 were Yoruba's while the bulk of the remainder were from the Eastern Region.

That is how Igbos practice a merit based system.

The foolish Yorubas who were members of NCNC were never offered any sensitive position in the NPC/NCNC partnership of the first republic. Not even the Eastern minorities were offered critical positions.

All that was good that the Northerners could not occupy, the Azikiwe led NCNC ensured it went to the Eastern region, and ultimately to only the Igbos of that multi-ethnic Eastern Region.
Shut up with these lies

The topic should have been "Why Visa applicants get refused" wink

Other points to note are... The Consular / Interviewer having a bad day grin

The Consular / Interviewer trying NOT to exceed the daily apportioned visa quota. undecided

Sometimes, there's very little you can do when trying to obtain a Tourist (B1/B2 U.S Visas). The decisions by the Consular are mostly subjective as compared to a Student (F-1/F-1/J-1 Visas etc...) which are more based on merits and individdual qualifications. smiley

If you need more info., about obtaining U.S student's Visas, feel free to reach out!
