GeneralFarouq: NPF has refused to engage themselves fully to any operations except of course under the Military,.. They are not just a prority. To justify buget allocation, IGP needs to show the government why it expedient they increase their allocation... Either the reasons he gave are not convincing, or other branches are full taking care of it .. Look at the NAF they are able to convince everybody the need for more additional fighter, isr and attacks platform, hence the continuous reallocation, they even were able to show they needed overhaul of the NAF regiment citing what happened in maiduguri yrs back, hence the continuous heavy allocation... The reasons NAF must have provided weren't sufficient enough to prioritize them above or equal the armed forces.. IRT has been showing that for years. |

Stormtrooper11: I once thought about this, but who do you want to tax? A very poor population? If we tax the rich more than the poor, in this present situation, the rich won't let it work. We can make it work. Don't get me wrong, but the bureaucracy is too much. The political will isn't there. Nigerians are poor because of low revenue/tax to GDP ratio. |

GabrielYulaw: Thanks for the grenade launcher clarification.
As for the Type 63, it's just one of my favorite pieces of weaponry. And I will have to disagree on your statement that there's not much room to improve it. Though I agree that putting it on a vehicle is an old idea.
I would love to see an 18-launcher system weighing 300kg or less and equipped with thermobaric warheads, rather than the standard HE and HE-Frag warheads. The warhead can also be made bigger and for this range can be sacrificed. Think of it as a mini TOS Burantino
Edit: By the way, you are South African, right? I love your Denel G7. It's a marvelous little artillery with a lot of bite. I learnt a single salvo can eliminate every living thing within 4km square |

Whyem15: When oil was selling at over $100 per barrel and we were producing over 2 million barrels per day, we failed to diversify or to save. The country was looted. Now that oil prices are less than half of what it used to be and we are producing less than half the quantity we used to, we shouldn't expect the economy to be better than the years before 2014. All we need to do is to make tax the major source of revenue. If we can get 15-20% tax to GDP ratio, Everyone will be surprised with where the country would be a decade after. |

NAF don Dey respond to ambush Why the Bleep did the army respond with 40 barrel Even if they have the accurate coordinates, the accuracy of the mlrs cannot be 100% which can lead to blue on blue Or we don get guided mlrs? |

Lol. Where in my post did I say armed fulani herdsmen are not killing people. Benue state received about 40bn naira as security vote at the height of the crisis, what did he do with it?
Do you know how much of security equipment you can procure with N40bn, the guy would comfortably buy 3 as350 chopper for the police which would be able to respond to any attack in Benue within just 40min max.
Buy some UAV systems, such that you can deploy them to an area being attacked and track the attackers back to their hideout then send in quick tactical teams to eliminate them before they disperse. Purchase a couple of APCs and 100s of Hilux vehicle for the police. You'll still be left with alot money to steal but he goes on air and be making Reckless comments as if he's a spectator. The guy is one of the most useless governor in Nigeria as of today, no governor irritates me like that guy |

MUTERIKA: SERIOUSLY? When you compare US experience in IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN to NIGERIA's experience in-country while saying terrorism will not last a day in US. 9/11 was not imported you know. Bulk of it's planning probably took place on US soil. That US performed wonderfully well in another country where they can kill nearly every hadjis without consideration doesn't mean they would do same when faced with terrorism at home, where they factor in civilians, environment, development and all. This is why it's always funny to me when people on this thread say it's easier to fight terrorism at home Like WTF When you fight terrorism abroad, you can do and undo without repercussion but there are countless and numerous dynamics involved when you're fighting at home. The best way to defeat terrorism is to prevent it by making sure you have efficient and effective law enforcement, cos when it goes full scale then you'll have a big problem on your hand The only advantage that comes with fighting terrorism at home is that you might be able to keep it at a normal level of crime through good law enforcement system rather than it going full scale and that's it. |

shadowprimezero: Breaking!! New reports indicate that Tigray's provincial capital, Mekelle been captured by the TPLF after devastating losses to the Ethiopian and Eritrean army with thousands of troops taken prisoner, multiple aircraft shot down and many armored vehicles captured. The Ethiopian and Eritrean troops have been responsible for extreme atrocities against the Tigrayans I think these guys were captured while been transported from one location to another and probably weren't with their rifles cos Omo . Or maybe they're the rebels who dressed in Ethiopian military uniform just for propaganda. |

I think the rehabilitation thing has been suspended or cancelled. I used to support the rehabilitation program but I don't think it works for terrorists, it's a waste of time when combating terrorists except they're criminals. If they surrender, arrest them and send them to life imprisonment or 30years. If they are captured, send them to firing squad and design them with multiple headshot. |

NNPC said it now spends N9bn on subsidy daily as consumption reaches over 100m litres per day which equates to N3.2trn($7.9bn) per annum if the cycle continues. NNPC blames it on smuggling
Cost of building a proper quality border security architecture will cost $1bn max which will end or reduce smuggling of all sort of contraband like PMS,Weapons etc to the bearest level.
But we have clowns in government |
