Part of the discussion of the discussions the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu had with his parents and family members has been made knonw. Nnamdi Kanu's younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu who disclosed this, disclosed that the IPOB Leader asked his parents and other members of his family to put him in prayers when he visited them shortly after visiting the Cenotaph Mountain, Enugu state, reassuring that he is the messiah of Biafra. According to The Sun News, Prince Emmanuel Kanu who gave the statement on Sunday, May 7 at their hometown in Abia, revealed that Kanu said he was strongly leading the agtitation. He said: “When Nnamdi arrived home he said he did not need anything from us and all Igbo people, other than prayers so that God will lead him through in the task ahead. "He equally told us that he is the messiah as far as Biafra is concerned. He said that, that is his agreement with God and that God promised that He would not let him down. Kanu also promised that he would not let Biafra down. Since it is his wish, all we owe him is to pray to God since what he is doing is in accordance with God’s will concerning his life.” Emmanuel explained that the visit of his brother to South-east senators in Abuja immediately after he was released, did not in any way indicate that he would join Nigeria’s politics, stressing that it would never happen. “Nnamdi Kanu told us he believes in freedom of speech and expression at all times. He told us that his visit to his senior brothers, the senators, despite what people may say is the normal thing to do. Some of them have said that his prolonged detention was illegal and could no longer be allowed; they asked him to come and see them and he went; there was nothing wrong with that. His primary concern is about the restoration of Biafra, no more, no less.” HRM (Eze) Sir Isaac Okwu Kanu, Egwukwu who is the father of Kanu said they were doing everything they could to keep up with the bail condition as many people were interested in seeing him. One of the bail conditions prevented Kanu from being in a gathering of more than 10 people. He said: “The tradition and culture of this place allows him to entertain one or two visitors and he cannot run away from this. We don’t allow many people to see him, that’s the truth.” “Despite the fact they were not informed of Nnamdi’s visit, they came from far and near to show love to their leader. There were over 300 persons that came yesterday and all of them slept in the open in my palace till daybreak. “Also, elders of the community came to see him; you know that court said he should not be found with more than 10 persons, so, we are trying to respect that.” http://igbobia.com/?q=nnamdi-kanu-reassures-i-am-still-the-messiah-of-biafra-only-pray-for-me-see-other-things-he-told-his

Every day, except on Sundays, the energetic Mrs. Chinelo Ogbonna comes to work at Mechanic Village, dons her work wear and sets out many types and sizes of vehicle tyres one atop the other in front of her husband’s vulcanizing workshop. She rushes at stopping vehicles, wheel spanner in one hand, ever ready to begin the loosening of a deflated tyre for repair. Her husband, a wiry fair youth, does not stand akimbo watching in front of his number 40, New Parts Section shop. He does not assume the pride of a man whose wife is at work with him. No, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbonna is busy already working on a flat tyre, determined to patch it by fire, not with a cold sealant. He makes as if it is a common virtue in women, to behave like his wife. Don’t be fooled. He knows he has a unique wife, and he asks me to soften my wonder at this rare form of feminism, and to make-belief she were an ordinary apprentice, else it will get into her gait and slow the turn of work! But not me. I step out of my SUV, looking to quietly observe the whole drama, scratching my eyebrows in measured curiosity. I buy a fairly-used tyre and sit like other clients to await my turn for service, if only to catch this out-of-the-box situation. A big tyre rolls at her command of hand. She stops it beside the press. And I think the man of the shop will take over to excavate the wheel from the tyre. My eyes almost bulge to see her sit the large ring on the tyre flange and jump upon the big handle of the press to free the wheel. I want to remonstrate by reflex. But something stops me. It is her deftness, like one just tearing apart a paper. She does not care that men are watching. The reflexive but pretentious effeminacy that shows up in some ladies whenever they are in the presence of men, knows no place in her life. It is not that she is not well-endowed as to mesmerize the world if she wants. But she has packaged all the voluptuousness of her body into that work wear. The matter at hand is money. The money to feed her family of a hardworking husband and four children must be fought for. Yes, she has four children and she is still in the side of youth. But here she is, vulcanizing, for the good of the society. Her way of life is a decision she made herself. She is not forced by her husband. There are moments of disagreements between the two. But the quickness with which they settle their differences is beyond public comprehension. I go on in my mind about the standing values we peddle around and which of them affects us negatively or positively, until she calls my attention to tell me she is through… I reveal to them that they are news. I educate them how this is so. They consent to a public view such as this you see. It may bring more clients, who knows. Welcome, again, to Nigeria…. (c) Jeff Unaegbu, May 3, 2017. It was a rare accomplishment and one that underscores the essence of motivation and competition, as two Igbo sons who lived together as roommates at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK), determined to bag academic excellence motivated themselves to aim First class honours each after four years in the school. Both brilliant lads seemed to have a lot in common aside having same middle Igbo name, Henry Ikenna Ozor and Joshua Ikenna Akuchi, they were both classmates in secondary school, and when they met as undergraduates in the faculty of Engineering of UNIZIK, they became roommates and their hard work paid off as they both graduated after four years from their respective departments of same faculty. According to Naij.com, Henry who hails from Iwollo in Ezeagu local government area of Enugu state, finished with a 4.85CGPA to become the best graduating student in the entire faculty of Engineering. While Joshua who hails from Ezza North local government in Ebonyi state, finished with a 4.66CGPA and emerged the best graduating student of the Mechanical Engineering department. The pair seem to always challenge each other, because when they represented UNIZIK at the national Engineering competition which was organised by the Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology (CODET), Joshua emerged the first runner-up while Henry came in second. Narrating their journey and their success story to CAMPUSLIFE, the pair who went to school on scholarship said: Henry: “As an indigent student, I had a challenge of paying my fee. I remember I could not pay school fees and house rent when I was in 100-Level. I would have lost my admission, because I had no financial support. I searched for scholarship, and I wrote many examinations as possible. By the grace of God, I got scholarship from ABC Transport Company, Shell Petroleum Development Company and Chevron/Agbami Joint Venture. I was also encouraged and financially supported by Allied Energy. The money I got from these companies yearly helped me to pay my fees and buy books.” Joshua: “I squatted in a friend’s hostel for about eight months when I was in 100-Level until I got money to pay my rent. Like Henry, I also applied and wrote many scholarship examinations. I was able to get Agbami Chevron/Agbami Joint Venture scholarship, which helped to pay my school fees.” When asked how their parents reacted to news that they were the valedictorians of their departments, they said: Henry: “My parents were over excited, because of the challenges they experienced in getting me to the level I am today.” Joshua: “My mum was overjoyed, though she expected it. She could not believe it when it was confirmed. My dad said he wanted to keep hearing the testimony of how I made it happen and each time he hears it, it is breaking news to him.” Henry: “I have always had successful and hardworking people around me. So, I draw energy and motivation from them. I would say that God’s favour made it happen, but I enjoy reading in the night except at weekends. Most of the time, I came back from night class around 5:30am to sleep before going for lectures. After lectures, I would return to my hostel to prepare for night reading. After sleeping for two to three hours, I would wake up to go for fellowship. From there, I would go for night reading till the following morning.” Joshua: “My daily routine is similar to Henry’s; only that I slept for more hours than I studied.” The pair opened up on their sole desires, they hope their academic records will be broken soon by their junior colleagues. Henry: “The only thing that kills a mission is distraction. I will advise my junior colleagues to design a plan and timetable, because they cannot be reading at random and expect to have a well-structured result. They should try to summarize their lecture note and textbooks in their own understanding for better concentration, comprehension and retention. If, after reading, and one cannot clearly understand key concepts and highlights of a course, then it is a clear sign that such a person did not understand it or he may be cramming. I equally believe that everyone has its own way of achieving excellence. What is needed is self-discovery.” Joshua: “Academic excellence is achievable for students who wish to attain enviable feat and height in their studies. They must carefully choose their friends, dedicate quality time to studies and be ambitions. They must always make up for lost time. The Almighty God is the pillar of all wisdom and knowledge. http://igbobia.com/?q=see-the-two-igbo-sons-who-graduated-with-first-class-as-roommates-from-unizik.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44

A logical careful look at the trend of events and circumstances surrounding the bail of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, will reveal that these five things underlisted are as much indispensable as the struggle it self. Take a look... 1. Reach out as far as possible, to the families of those who lost their lives in the struggle: he is not restricted from meeting people. Think of the joy this move would spark in the lives of these parents, the confidence it would restore to the struggle, the genuineness of belief it will reassure, seeing the now famous and well revered especially, amongst the Igbo people of extraction, Nnamdi Kanu, relate with these people would be perhaps, the best of thing to spark hope in these parents. I don't think they would wish anything more, not certainly money which can't buy back their lost loved ones. Nnamdi Kanu can't address them in the press, so, what's rather the best option is include them in your "thank you tour." 2. Dine with South Eastern politicians using a very long spoon. Yes, while you want to get some experience, information, and thoughts from the politicians from our region and dig out their minds, please, Kanu, be extremely cautious. Just like the political leaders all over Nigeria, most of the leaders from our part are just damn corrupt. The song of Biafra freedom irritates their ear even though they shine their teeth on you. You know why, because the present arrangement of Nigeria favours them. Yes, they are beneficiaries of the contraception; they are people who represent the 5% from South East that may unleash their arsenal to force you out of the struggle for self-determination of Biafran. 3. You need money. In as much as money shouldn't be a determinant factor, I make bold to say that no struggle is ever sustained with heavy reliance on aids and financial contributions from persons and individuals. You can't even try it with these Nigerian rich men particularly, Igbo leaders, else, the Biafran struggle you spearhead will suffer. It would certainly be at the mercy of these men and of course, they detest every sound of Biafra, though they love to hear Igbo. And so, Kanu, you must monetise, to begin with, some of Radio Biafra platforms. Opening the platforms for ads and sources of income wouldn't be bad an idea to have. Anyway, I think you know too well on this. 3. Please, as soon as possible, file for appeal on your bail conditions, especially to have your passports back and secondly, to address the press. Two major reasons follow from these points. One, you just need to address the press or give press release. If not, rumours and misinformation will be peddled by touts and disgruntled elements whom I suppose, would largely be implanted by the APC, your strongest enemy. When you don't talk and your followers don't hear you and such deep rumours as the one sold out by the APC owned News TV currently, are peddled around, honestly, people's mind will begin to wane and when that happens, Sir, the fire will continue to die down. Information is power and re-creator of the mind. Two, your passport is quite indispensable because, as it stands, you just need to begin travelling. The Biafran agitation I suppose has taken a different turn, the present struggle is moving with the trend of civilisation, where power is no longer largely dependent on fierceness, or physical force, but is largely intellectual. It is the time to unleash the power of the intellect by travelling out, meeting world leaders and whomever necessary, engaging in discussions and negotiations, while the traditional methods of rallies and protests are carried out by the boys and followers. You just have to marry the two ideologies or else, the struggle will largely suffer. You need to travel and take the message of rational sympathy and support for the Biafran struggle along with you to the world leaders. And you can't do any of these without your passport. The saga of the money discovered inside the Osborne mansion at Ikoyi Lagos by the EFCC linked to the immediate past governor of Anambra state as well as the recent and trending speech he made at the Platform, a programme organised by Covenant Christian Centre, Lagos, both incidents are really bringing a lot of things to the public glare. Just early today, a young man, Williams Emeka who claimed to have known Mr. Peter Obi too well, came up with some stuff about the past governor which he termed, "Quick On Mr. Peter Obi," a sort of revelation on the antecedents of Peter Obi. Here is what he wrote: "If you go to Emeka Anyoku crescent area 11 opp former Meridian hotel ABJ ask anybody there Peter obi's House , they will show u , he uses the house to park goods he imports (ship load ). "I have only one House which is the house in Onitsha, if you see any other house that belongs to Mr. Peter Obi, confiscate it" . # Mr. Peter Obi @ The Platform 1st May 2017.. Just as a Nigerian National, Onyedikachi, was arrested in India tragedy befell another Nigerian, this time in Ghana. Orji Ogbonnaya, 38, from Abia state has been nabbed by Ghanaian Police for allegedly attempting to smuggle 154 parcels of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp to Nigeria which he was said to have allegedly hidden in bales of used clothes. Briefing journalists in Accra, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mrs Effia Tenge, said the police had a tip-off about some people trying to smuggle Indian hemp to Nigeria and proceeded to the scene at Darkuman junction in Accra. She said when the police arrived at the warehouse, they saw a number of bags containing used clothes. The officers then confiscated the bags and took them to the police station and when they were opened, the suspected narcotic was found. According to Mrs Tenge, the police counted 154 parcels of compressed dried leaves concealed in second-hand clothing which was packed in "Ghana must go" bags. Upon interrogation, Ogbananya allegedly admitted the offence and told the police that the parcels belonged to a man he named only as Goodman, who is currently on the run. http://igbobia.com/?q=another-igbo-young-man-nabbed-in-ghana-for-allegedly-trying-to-smuggle-drugs.html

The #Ikoyigate is really bringing everything to the fore of the public and our ears can't get tired of hearing lots of "funny" comments coming from the saga. In response to the mention of his name in connection with the loot discovered in the Osborne Tower building in which he owned two flats, immediate past governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi declared that he nothing to do with the money and emphasised that as a clear evidence of his meticulous life, he had used just one wrist watch in 17 good years and only two pairs of black shoes, which he traveled in with most times. While he spoke at the flagship programme of Covenant Christian Centre in Lagos, Obi revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) found nothing after searched his house at Osborne, Ikoyi, Lagos, adding that the anti-corruption agency doubted if he lived there because they could not find wristwatches, jewelry and other exotic materials befiting a governor. Speaking on the Ikoyi cash, Obi said: “Let me tell you what is worrisome; well we don’t know, they are still dealing with who owns the money or who doesn’t own the money, but that will one day be clarified”. “Let me tell you where I am even worried. Why would anybody put it in such a circumstance, what if it caught fire? If that money was put in our banking system, whoever kept it would have earned eight percent per annum, so he would have earned about $7 million by now. “$7 million is about N2.8 billion today. That is the amount I spent for all secondary schools in Anambra in a year. If he decided to be generous and give it to graduates, they would have shared it to 2,800 graduates, out of which 2,000 would have been successful. “I live there, but having been governor of Anambra for eight years, I cannot live outside Anambra. The only place I have a house officially built is Onitsha, if you see any house in Lagos, Abuja or anywhere else belonging to Peter Obi, confiscate it. I lease that place for my wife and children.” On the search of his Ikoyi home, Obi said nothing was found except his wife’s cloth and shoes, adding that he has only one wristwatch, which he has used for 17 years. “Ask those who searched it. I was abroad, they said they wanted to search my house, I sent the key, and they searched my whole apartment and I can tell you the only thing they found. “They said this man doesn’t live here. It was only his wife’s clothes and shoes that we saw, we didn’t see anything belonging to him. “I have said it to Nigerians, Peter Obi wears only black shoes, and I have two pairs of it, and I travel with it. The purpose of shoe is to protect the leg from being hurt. Nothing else. I bought this from Marks and Spencer, $49.99, finish. “They said ‘we didn’t even see watch’, and I have said it to everyone, this is the only watch I have, I have worn it for 17 years. The purpose of watch is to keep time. Why would I keep a watch at home? Whose time is it keeping?” http://igbobia.com/?q=i-have-used-only-one-wrist-watch-and-two-pairs-of-black-shoes-in-17-yearsex-gov-peter-obi-says.html

How I wish this thread made sense... Am just disappointed there was nothing reasonable to comment on. |
I just don't understand why any flimsy anti-Igbo or Biafra construction however shabby it is, makes the front page in Nairaland. In what sense of understanding does someone saying "this is Biafran land" mean the person is IPOB. Is the person so loose intellectual to hold firmly the fact that IPOB is an organisation in the Igbo ethnicity and not every Igbo is an IPOB. Secondly, the distortion of the import of the made up stuff which no sane person can call news, is just a vexation taking on the IPOB to rubbish their image. In any case, the guy saying this is "Biafra land" could actually be right because in Biafran land, nonsense such as battering women and intimidation don't happen. Equality and respect are the simple messages. Op should know that |

THE Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has blasted the federal government over the stringent and outrageous bail conditions handed down on Mazi, Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government, stating that the bail condition "is a soft landing subtly given to themselves to ease their shame." MASSOB also, hinted on the hope and possibility of Biafra actualisation with the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, stating that it has brought the agitation for Biafra republic closer to its restoration. MASSOB is jubilant over the release of Kanu from Prison on Friday and shares its joy with millions of ‘Biafrans’ all over the world for the relentless efforts andr contributions. Stating that the release of Kanu is a triumph of light over darkness, MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, noted that: “His release has opened a new dimension to Biafra struggle which must continue to be anchored on non violence, mutual understanding and unity of purpose. “As Nnamdi Kanu regained freedom, MASSOB will continue with other progressive groups and individuals to press further for the release of other pro Biafra detainees across Nigeria prisons. “MASSOB as the most prominent pro Biafra group that supports Mazi Nnamdi Kanu believe that there are credible Igbo senators and Jewish religious leaders who can stand for Nnamdi Kanu. “Standing for Nnamdi Kanu means standing for Ndigbo because we still have credible senators which has been shown on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe who can never be intimidated or subjected to cowardice because of the conditions of the bail granted to Nnamdi Kanu.” There is no fear for MASSO whatsoever, over the stringent and outrageous bail conditions handed down on Nnamdi Kanu, Madu said, because it knew that the people of ‘Biafra’ were capable of dismounting strongholds against the actualization and restoration of the rupulic of Biafra. “The bail conditions established against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal government of Nigeria is a soft landing subtly given to themselves to ease their shame. “MASSOB salutes and hails the oneness of unifying forces of Igbo senators led by Ike Ekweremadu and Enyinnaya Abaribe with the back up of Igbo Governors and other prominent Nigerians in their swift response in perfecting the bail conditions of our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Madu said igbobia.com/?q=nnamdi-kanus-bail-condition-is-a-soft-landing-given-by-the-fed-govt-to-ease-themselves-of-shame.html
