Major Hamza Al-Mustapha who was the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha and the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) Chief Ralph Nwazuruike, today, Monday, met in Kaduna to discuss peace and calm the tension over the quit notice issued to ndi Igbo to leave the northern region by a coalition of Northern youth groups. The meeting which was held at the Arewa House where the norther youths made the declaration was called by Major Al-Mustapha seemingly to calm the tension caused by the declaration. Speaking in the meeting, Al-Mustapha stated that the present crisis in Nigeria was as a result of divisive utterances from various groups may have been sponsored by countries that envy Nigeria, adding that these countries could even sponsors their lackeys into leadership positions in Nigeria. He said: “We are appealing that our younger ones whom have been declared wanted should be set free, and the order of arrest should be rescinded because it is not the solution” he said Uwazurike on the other hand, noted that the crisis in Nigeria is being manipulated and caused by politicians, stressing that “the youth must not allow that, the country must continue to exist as one nation but issues of marginalization can be discussed. Nwazurike explained that when he founded MASSOB in 1999, it was purely meant to be a peaceful platform through which issues of perceived marginalisation of the Igbo’s in Nigeria could be discussed and tackled. He said though it was right for any part of the country to seek self determination, it was wrong to pursue same through violent means. “I handed over Radio Biafra which I created to Nnamdi KANU in London as the managing director and was hoping it would serve the purpose for which it was created, but was disappointed that politicians hijacked it and it became something else,” he said. According to Vanguard, he assured the Northerners in all the Eastern part of the country of their safety, saying that he was happy it’s same assurance of the safety of easterners in the north by Major Hamza Almustapha (rtd). “I want to assure northerners that your people in the South east are safe and nobody will harass them and am happy that my friend Al-Mustapha has also given same assurance of the safety of our people in the north. “Self determination without violence is a fundamental right, we must strive against sowing the seed of discord but do all that will promoted peace and justice. “There is a gap of communication from our leaders which needs to be bridged hence we are meeting with notable leaders in the north to persuade them that there is no cause for alarm” he noted http://igbobia.com/?q=fmr-cso-to-abacha-al-mustapha-holds-peace-meeting-with-massob-leader-ralph-uwazuruike-over-quit.html Cc: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The youth wing of the North Central zone of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has ordered the coalition of Northern Youth Groups who last Tuesday issued a ‘quit notice’ to ndi Igbo in the northern region to vacate the region, to "withdraw their statement and apologise to all Nigerians." According to them, “the North-Central youths are saying those so called Northern youths who issued that statement should immediately withdraw it and apologise to all Nigerian people”, the party said. Similarly, in a statement issued Sunday in Abuja, the APC North-central zonal youth leader Comrade Terver Aginde, said the unity and progress of Nigeria is bigger than any group or individual. “How can they say that the Igbos should leave the North? If we may ask, who are those youths or Northern youths who are saying the Igbos should leave the North? “As a zonal youth leader in the current Nigerian government in charge of North Central, I think I have a say as regards the position of the majority of the Northern youths. We are saying that the unity and progress of this country is bigger than any group or individual.” They however, called on ndi Igbo in the north to ignore the call, as the youth leader gave assurance that North-central will continue to work with all regions and ethnic groups in the marriage called Nigeria to ensure the success of the project. http://igbobia.com/?q=youth-wing-of-the-north-central-zone-of-the-apc-orders-apology-from-arewa-youths-over-igbo-quit.html Credit: Vanguard |

Speaking after the meeting of the Northern Elders’ Forum , NEF, on Friday in which the Elders from the North supported the fierce decision by the Coalition of Northern Youth Groups that ndi Igbo must be forcefully quitted from the North in three months time, the Spokesperson of the NEF, Prof Ango Abdullahi stated that north had once fed the whole of Nigeria, particularly the South West and the South East. Abdullahi said this while addressing newsmen yesterday, Friday, after the meeting of the NEF, stating that the Igbo must leave the North after the October 1st deadline. His words: “I am disappointed in the decision taken by Northern Governors’ Forum disowning and condemning the agitation by this young agile and progressive youth groups. “Let me ask these Northern governors, who are they representing, are they representing spirits, ghost or people of the north? “Recently, people from eastern part of this country, specifically Igbo, were busy calling for the Sovereign State of Biafra and from all indication, their leaders including governors are behind them.” “Is not conducive for him” should quit, adding that what the northern youth groups did was not a sin. He lamented that none of the Northern governors reacted to the persistent call for the actualisation of Biafra and other agitations. Abdullahi said when Nnamdi Kanu was released on bail recently, over 100 vehicles escorted him to his residence including big personalities from the South-west and South-east. “This is somebody who has been agitating for the breakup of Nigeria but his people were behind him, therefore, I am behind the youths. “This is because the Northern youths are pushed to the wall, we have been calming them down in any event similar to this. “These people always pretend that the North is cheating them, not minding the fact that Southern Nigeria was developed with resources from the North. “Please, look for a book written by Adamu FiKa, the Waziri of Fika, on Nigeria’s budget before and after independence. “Each year, up to the time Nigeria gained its independence, none of the two regions was able to provide for itself. “I mean none of the Western and Eastern regions had the money to effectively run the affairs of its region until they get financial support from the Northern region,” he said. He recalled that the tradition had remained during the colonial masters and nothing changed after they left the country. Abdullahi said it was the same money from the North that was used to construct Nigerian Railways, refineries and other facilities. “First oil exploration was conducted using money from groundnut pyramid, cotton, hide and skin among other cash crops from Northern Nigeria. However, these people tend to forget all these goodies provided by the North toward ensuring the unity and corporate existence of Nigeria. “They always look down on us, feeling that Northerners are parasites in this country,” he said. http://igbobia.com/?q=resources-from-the-north-were-used-to-develop-igbo-land-and-the-whole-south-northern-elders-forum |

Isn't there any pay at all? |
Fellow Nairalanders, I had in a different thread where I solicited for assistance on employment opportunities from anyone who could help as I am at the moment, unemployed and seemingly frustrated with sitting at home since the close of my publishing business for want of financial capacity. I have decided to, in this thread, engage in even Internship programs regardless of the fact that the pay may not measure my worth. I am a proud holder of a Second Class Upper Division [Certificate] from the Dept of Political Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, endued with competencies and experiences that can add huge value and drive operational effectiveness in the roles of Customer Care Agent, Creative Writer, Publisher, Personal Assistant, Communications Agent and Sales Executive (pls, not the type of sales one is compelled to roam the streets with products or fliers). Regrettably so, lack of finance forced me into the Labour market. Please contact me via princedavidobi@gmail.com Please, help me out, anyone that can. Thank you and God Bless You |
KingToba:Bros, I have applied by sending my CV to the Organisation but I haven't got any response. Please, could you assist me with their address so I could go in person? Thanks. |
Fellow Nairalanders, I am yet to get an offer. Even if it is an internship, I am ready to take it. Am still confident of my qualification, competencies and experiences that can add huge value and drive operational effectiveness in the roles of Customer Care Agent, Creative Writer, Publisher, Personal Assistant, Communications Agent and Sales Executive (pls, not the type of sales one is compelled to roam the streets with products or fliers). Please, help me out, anyone that cares. |
I just sent you my CV |
VNaija:Good morning. I am a content writer for Igbobia.com, an online Igbo forum. Do you need a CV or just a message? |
davepepple83:Amen...but if you know of tutorials I could teach...I wouldn't mind having their contacts. I could understand schools aren't recruiting at the moment because I have tried some and they said till August. |
KingToba:Oh...I get. I have sent my CV already. I entitled the email "In Need of Employment." Thanks |
KingToba:Thanks for the info, pls, what position, Bro? |
Afonjashapmouth:Bro, it says the address is invalid. I will just use the Nairaland email system to contact you Bros, Pls, could you send me your email address to my email: princedavidobi@gmail.com so I could send you my CV since I wouldn't be able to access it via this platform? Thanks. |
madri4u:Thanks for the Advice |
Sensual:Thanks for the sympathy, Sis |
Afonjashapmouth:Thanks, you could help me with your email so I could forward my info |
Afonjashapmouth:Thank you for the advice Bro. But honestly, I have pondered over my conditions and options available for me. It does appear that I wouldn't be able to sustain any career or engagement without funds which am currently incapacitated by. It is more pathetic than you can imagine honestly. The crazy thoughts that have crossed my mind are just unbelievably insane. I don't want to kill my publishing career, never. I just need to equip myself with financial strength and, perhaps, more competence and experience. If I could see a media firm where I could work for free and just collect some stipend, I don't mind. |
