Ozzz:
yes it's possible to fly back

but you will also consider economics....

Also staying back in Switzerland and using online application, but you need to verify if the websites are country specific, if yes, try digging for Nigeria's website.

then for passport submission, I believe it can be couriered, its just biometrics am not quite sure where you should do it.

These are just my thoughts ....

I will see what i can do. Thanks Ozzz. I appreciate

Well, that is sad to hear of all the conditions (esp. bank statements). Since you already know the solution, just try and work with it.

All the best!

I have actually applied for Visa to Canada while studying outside Nigeria. From my experience, a Visa is not a right to stay in a country. As you are a student, your Study Permit which shows the duration of your studies should be the key. I am not particularly sure about the 6 months duration you mentioned (you might have to check that out).

In summary, your study permit should be fine to apply for any of those visas from outside Nigeria.

Goodluck!

Yes i can apply from Singapore where i'm currently studying. I have applied for other countries before been given a visa easily but Canada, UK, Australia are quite difficult, once the study permit validity is less than 6 month, i will have to wait the next year to apply for a 1 year renewal. Another issues is that they treat Nigerian applicants differently as high risk country i.e bank statement needs to have more than enough and they don't accept Nigerian bank statement. Same goes to the US embassy in Singapore which i applied and was rejected. That's why i choose to apply from my home country.

My brother, you can apply for Canada online.

If your visa is approved, you’ll send the passport to any embassy in the world within 30 days and it’ll be returned with the sticker.

thank you KodakBlack

Hi Nairalanders,
I would like to apply for Australian, Uk or Canadian visit Visa from Nigeria but my country of residence is Singapore. I am on a student visa which needs to be renewed every year. The problem is the requirements for foreigners applying for these countries are difficult for none residence. I was advised to apply from my home country because if my student visa is less than 6 months I am not eligible to apply visas to other countries.

My question is.
Is it possible to fly to Nigeria for a week and apply or stay back in Singapore apply for visa and bio-metrics then when my visa is approved I can fly back to Nigeria to get the visa sticker on my passport?

thanks

I just want to try my luck here in Malaysia due to affordable housing, cheap transportation and other things but unfortunate I can't get a job, moreso the problem is from Malaysian Government, most of companies are willing to take foreigners ( Africans) but government policy. I got offer from a Singaporean Hospital and a Singaporean Security Company but accommodation is a very big problem in Singapore, Things are more expensive in Singapore that you cannot have savings, Anyway thanks to Monash as Australia is the next bet and getting enough good response from Australia. Wish you success and best of luck
Na so bro, Best of luck.

My brother, I know what I'm saying and I am not here to demoralize anybody which I stated, moreover we're not here to argue. Malaysia is good, Malaysia is cool but I have stated my reason(s) why spending much in Malaysia without a Job. For your info, I graduated from Monash Subang JayaCampus, Bachelor of Psychological Science and I know what I'm telling you, so don't argue, Imagine after paying approximately 38k ringgit/ year, graduating to find out there is no job for Africans especially Nigerians but my friends from Sudan( North), Somalia and Eriteria are all working in Malaysia, we graduated the same year, time and my course-mates, Is this not racism, I know your school or college very well, which is known as KBU College Bandar Utama around One Utama/One World Hotel Area and in same category with KDU Kota Damansara, so bros forget that ur college, Your college just got license to University College not more than 6 or 7 years ago if I'm correct. I have searched for jobs here, so I know what I'm telling you, God luck
Why search for jobs in Malaysia when they barely give blacks job (Nigerians), why not try Australia since your degree is from Monash, I know a few people that move to Singapore, they only complain of the cost of living.

Billionman60! You said "Brother you have never been to South Africa, I doubt and let me tell you once you are through with your studies in SA, there is a 50/50 % that you will get a job not same in Malaysia" Please why are you in Malaysia then?(if you are). That's what I ask people who say Malaysia is very bad and are still living in the Malaysia. Some people don't live in Malaysia, Some don't even study in Malaysia and they talk about this and that. A lot of nairalanders can discourage immigrants because of their bad experience, assumption or what they don't know. I remembered when i visited SA, I got discouraged a lot from friends, some said bad about the place. I got my SA visa in 2013. This same Nairaland assisted me/some saw it funny! I got my 1 year multiple entry Visa stamped in Ghana through an agent! some didn't know it's possible and it seems funny to them. Wetin travel agent no fit do!
https://www.nairaland.com/1420584/before-departure-south-africa
Afterwards I visited Malaysia for 2 weeks just because i want to study, I liked the education system because of the 3+0 degrees. Thanks to Truth234 who answer my question about getting my NOC. I go by what I know, what I see, not what I assume or "person talk say". Even if you have been in Malaysia for 10 years and you don't know facts about Malaysian education, don't act like you know it all. You claim you know FCUC, if you have visited my college First City University College, Petalin Jaya, you won't say it's owned by an Indian or Malay lol It's owned by Chinese Founded Dr Teo Soo Cheng. I know the Nigerians in my college because we are less than 6 as big as the college is the rest are students from different ethnicities. My certificate is awarded by Nottingham Uni, our syllables, time table and curriculum is the same as the University of Nottingham UK, our result are checked on the Nottingham Uni website not even the college website. I got my UK visiting visa in Malaysia without stress. If you talk about racism yes there's racism, I'm the only black in a class of 20!. Get facts about 3+0 degrees, Twining degree programmes, Transfer programmes, Advanced Standing programmes that's where you find lotta ethnicities studying in Malaysia. When it comes to government owned universities, like UM or UPM I don't know a lot about them because their certificates are Malaysian and they are relatively cheap.

Yes he his saying the truth but some of it are false. Student who wanna study aboard will have to research about where they are going to before they embark on their journey.

1. "Firstly Malaysians don't like blacks and the see all Blacks as criminals, fraudsters/conman, black money vendor, and prostitute. YES he's right"

2. "They don't know the difference between someone from Ghana, South Africa, African-American and Nigeria, once you're black you're Nigerian and a criminal, even those that will smile at you especially the Chinese, they are doing so because you have something financially to offer or you're always coming to their pubs with friends to drink" YES he's right

3. "There is discrimination in housing, I mean renting a place and that is why you see Nigerians and Africans living much in Puchong, Cheras, Subang Jaya, cyber Jaya, Bukit Jali, Selayang, Kajang and only few lives in KL, if you doubt try and search for apartment, call the agent and tell him/her you're a Nigeria or African then watch his/her response which usually " owner don't want foreigner". YES he's right

4. You can't work and study. YES he's right

But when you talk about education here, don't compare Malaysia! maybe the school you went to is not well recognized, if you wanna see lotta ethnicities visit well known schools, or visit education fairs then you see lotta foreigners from different ethnicities who wanna study here.

so it left for the individual to decide what he/she wanna do.

And by the way allhavesinned i saw your last post before it was taken off. Student fail to research that's why they make wrong decisions and start complaining. I'm not studying in FTMS but i have friends studying there, the BSC and MSC certificate from FTMS college cyberjaya is well recognized, you wanna tell me University of East London UK, Leeds Metropolitan University UK, Anglia Ruskin University UK certificate are not recognized? students who wanna compare Universities by their ranking should study in the US lol

I have been following this thread for long as I was deceived to study in Malaysia with hope I will get a job after my 3 years degree and Hello to everyone and this is to those who are coming to Malaysia for the purpose of studying, please think twice and ask yourself why Malaysia? First I have to sound it out to everyone here that you have your final decision to choose either to study here or somewhere else. I am not trying to demoralize any one rather I want to let you know of the reality on ground, Firstly Malaysians don't like blacks and the see all Blacks as criminals, fraudster/conmen, black money vendor, and prostitute,

The don't know the difference between someone from Ghana, South Africa, African-American and Nigeria, once you're black you're Nigerian and a criminal, even those that will smile at you especially the Chinese, they are doing so because you have something financially to offer or you're always coming to their pubs with friends to drink.

Malaysian degree is not even acceptable in most firm in Singapore talk more about other advanced Asian countries, Malaysians don't value their education that much and that is why their government sponsored them to study elsewhere as such you will see Malaysian Students all over the world even in South Africa. Malaysia value their certificates if you as a Malay especially wants to work in the government sector but most firms accept and value certificates from outside Malaysia more than their own certificates, so why wasting your hard earn money to study in a country, where you are not allowed to work or even do internship.

In other countries like Singapore when you finish your degree you're allowed to search for work and you have 50/50 to get a job while here in Malaysia once you finish your study, Immigration and Education department will not renew your Student Visa and the will asked you to leave the country within 2 weeks whereby you fail to leave then you will become an Illegal immigrant, which is very difficult to stay in Malaysia without papers.

Why waste your hard earn money when after graduating you're not allowed to work and the only place you can even try your bet is Celcom and a call desk officer with a salary of 1500 ringgit, which is a contract work of just 4-5 months and the will not file for a work permit for you.

Why wasting your hard earn money to study in Malaysia when there is discrimination in housing, I mean renting a place and that is why you see Nigerians and Africans living much in Puchong, Cheras, Subang Jaya, cyber Jaya, Bukit Jali, Selayang, Kajang and only few lives in KL, if you doubt try and search for apartment, call the agent and tell him/her you're a Nigeria or African then watch his/her response which usually " owner dont want foreigner".

Thirdly in other countries as a student you're allowed to work for few hours during session and work more hours during holidays period but here in Malaysia you cannot even work as a cleaner. I will advise those going to Malaysia to think twice as you will get frustrated if you're having hope of study and work or work after study....., If your upkeep money is not coming from Nigeria then you're doomed and will be forced to go either way of illegal means of survival, which 90% of those living in Malaysia are into. The only business you see Nigerians doing here selling African things or operating and opening of African restaurant, which you must get married to their locals before you can. Please save your money and find somewhere else to study and work. Malaysian Universities are not even among the 200 Universities in University Ranking.

Mr man! Everyone have their personal reasons for studying in Malaysia. You wanna compare a degree from UPM, Sunway, Taylor, FCUC, FTMS and so on... to south african universities? REALLY!
bro don't be ignorant! Even other Asians, Europeans, Australians and Arabs come to study in Malaysia. I have lotta foreign student in my class FCUC..."Japanese, South Korean, Egpytian and Iranian" JUST 1 malay. They've all been together since Foundation year, Degree and now Masters. Why do you think some people choose to study in Malaysia because they have 3+0 degrees from UK, Australian universities rather than paying £11,000/yr in Uk for the degree they rather study in Malaysia for £4000/yr sometimes as low as $10,000 for a 3yr BSC degree. I have been to South Africa please tell me which jobs pays good in South Africa. Bros behave yourself don't infest your ignorance and discourage other people. Yes there's racism here, there's scam here. Tell me a country where there's no scam and no racism. Don't dull! grow up.

@ Areolae getting a social visa might be difficult with all the documents needed, but please and please for your safety don't give any travel agent your passport in Nigeria to process Malaysian social visa for you. Whatever the stress face it yourself in the Malaysian Embassy. Travel Agents in Nigeria are issuing FAKE visa stamp that even come with receipts.

You can book a one way ticket to KL, the immigration in KL won't bother you if you book a one way or a round trip because your University representative will come to the airport to clear you at the immigration. But you will have issues in MMIA check-in they would want to extort/delay you. Personally i remember i booked a round trip to avoid delays/extortion.

Dont say such,Malaysian are good

Malaysia is a very good place for a honeymoon vacation. I'm not talking about racism here. Since when I have been in Malaysia, I have not been attacked or molested. In my school I'm the only black guy in my class Dominated by Chinese. In the school we are just 8 blacks students. I don't feel intimidated for any reason.
Everyone is advising the couple to come. My only advise is for them to think twice before coming to Malaysia. Passing through the Malaysian port of entry with a social visa is the wahala. It's about 12days now a granny was sent back at the port of entry carrying a "Social Visa" All because she want to take care of her son's new born. Even though we have links that could clear her from the counter but it's quite difficult now. Having fun in Malaysia is not a problem. But passing through the immigration port of entry with a SOCIAL VISA is the problem.

I beg to differ, please visit Malaysia for your honeymoon. Malaysians do travel a lot for honeymoon and I once traveled with a newly wedded to the US from here. Malaysians will treat you like a criminal if you are indeed a criminal, even though they tend to judge you at first sight, it is left for you to prove them wrong with your good conduct. Please desist from such comment with mere one year here. Malaysia generates bulk of its annual revenue from tourism so they know the value of tourists and respect them until they prove otherwise.

hahaha it's better to say the "truth" than take a risk. If you hold a "Nigerian Passport" you better go else where for your honey moon.

Eligibility letter is for both Masters degree and Undergraduate degree. And it's not specified "Ministry of Education, Abuja"... it's most be from an "High Commission". You can get it from any ministry of education in your locality. Just let it be from an "High Commission". I got mine from the Federal High Court within 2hrs. Even here in Malaysia the eligibility letter is gotten from the Nigerian Embassy.
