Innterestingly. Nigeria was never this bad. Majority of people could feed and live in relative peace up until the Jonathan era when things began to seriously degenerate.

I will not fall for your bait and start to cast my background. All i will say is as a child i lacked for nothing and was exposed to places and experiences that the average nigerian kid would not have at that time.

I forged my own path and experienced pain and lack briefly and feel sorry for those who have it as their only experience all their life. I was 27 and done with NYSC before i ever knew the difference between "hunger" and " I am hungry" and i remember that day vividly. A friend even offered me food and i was crying as we ate together. He was shocked and could not understand what was going on in my mind.

We are all wired differently. From the get go there have always been people like you who enjoy the way things are and thrive on the lawlessness and chaos that Nigeria is and have zero empathy for those who are not as privileged as they are. A typical example is a man like Fani Kayode...and you as well. As long as you are eating well, wetin concern you with those sho are not?

Why should some have in excess and live in opulence while the majority do not have at all...because those few are using all the state levers of power to gleefully oppress the other.

As for those who lived in the west and returned home, people move back for many many reasons.

Their are also those whose minds are so f**ked ip that unless they feel themselves on top of the food chain their self worth takes nose dive. And since they obviously cannot be the elite in another climate, they go back home where they can be number one to either feel good or oppress others.

Their are those who are simply looking for husbands and regular sex with a larger pool of willing partners to choose from in Nigeria. ( this is more common than you can imagine). There are those who have committed things that if it blows in their face they are gone for life or a long time.

There are those who invented products that will do better in a green market than a saturated one.

There are some who simply want to be among people that they look like and have retired.

My point is people move back home for a myriad of reasons. Nevertheless it is still suffering and smiling.
Quality of life is not ALL about food and drinks.
You are wise enough to know that .

I know myself and understand my motivations well and sometimes wonder why i bother with what is going on in Nigeria. I am not in LOVE with the west, i know its ugly sides. I never intend to live permanently away from home and even now come home regularly and know the stark contrast.

I am not blind to the fact that there are many people that enjoy the way Nigeria is for selfish reasons. No amount of gas lighting will keep us from speaking up. Until the day we can really say i am from Nigeria with pride and dignity we will keep speaking up.

I will ignore the fact that you called me mumu oo. But i know that you will still have to buy yourself or send someone to buy fuel for your generator this night and God forbid if armed robbers shoot you today, first there will be no ambulance to take you to the hospital and your friends who take you in their car will watch frantically as y'all are stuck in traffic only to get to the hospital and they are told to go get police report as your life slowly ebbs away.
