smileyyoungies glad to know you are on line,please need help on the following words
when, will, have,has,need,maybe,finish,can
It is not so easy to pick out some of these prepositions and verbs and simply translate them into Igbo language without putting them in context. The best translation comes when you use them in a phrase or sentence.

i am not sure = Amachaghi m
how many = ole
i might come = e nwere m ike i bia
can i come = o mu bia?
must i come = nga abiariri?
i dont know when i will come = Amghai m oge/mgbe m ga abia
when do you want me to come = ole oge/mgbe i choro ka m bia?
did you eat = i riri nri?
what did you eat = ole ihe i riri?
do you want some = i ka choro ?
can i have some = i ga enye tu m

@youngies. i jikwa oru eba. Please try teaching only the words that are used frequently. You know that present day igbos do speak "engiligbo" and nobody will call window "mpio", but instead they will call it "window". Nobody speaks pure igbo these days. So teach diamond only the igbo words that are mostly used.
@eina
Your observation is noted, but let me assure you that there ara very versatile Igbo speakers on this forum that can hold their own down without the frequent infusion of engligbo. Try Echelon, Ifyalways, yours sincerely and et al

liking

and more words you can help me with
There is need for us to take it gradually so that you won't be given too much at a time that may end up confusing you.
You also have to realise that Igbo language is a phonetic based lingo. One word can mean so many things depending on how it is pronounced.

Take for instance, the word "akwa"
akwa = egg
akwa = cry
akwa = bridge
akwa = bed
akwa = clothe

So you will improve quickly on the language skill if hear some of these words pronounced. Your husband call help in this regards

Hope this helps  cool

This scandalous!!! shocked

A major human development catastrophe is looming
The blame is on the government, teachers, parents and the society in general

Our values these days are highly misplaced
I once caught my nephew using his phone to download and play p.orn videos instead of preparing for his forthcoming JSS exams, while his mother sees nothing wrong in buying his 14 year old son an E70 Nokia phone.

I was quickly reminded of how Facebook, Hi5 and Nairaland and other social newtorking sites has replaced libraries.

A country that finds noffing wrong with a blatant public display of p.orn DVDs on the streets where kids of even 6 years can even watch has no future

The point is that we all tend to have ulterior motive most of the time we take a position in the mix of activities surrounding us
Politics › Re: Nzeribe At It Again; Calls On Military To Take Over! by youngies(m): 4:23pm On Mar 11, 2010
Jakumo:
Author Nzeribe is a long-time weapons dealer, and so it is perfectly natural for him to try his utmost to destabilize Nigeria, in order that can get back to selling guns and making the sort of profits he accrued during the Biafran War.

Every waking moment of Author Nzeribe is spent praying feverishly for war in sub-Saharan Africa, for he is the quitessential Dog of War, all sentiments aside.
What is the difference between him and the man selling casket by the road side of Lagos-Ibadan express way? Who is ever praying fervently for a massive fatality on that road each blessed day for business to be good

Both are business men. What is their crime?

Joagbaje:
The thread has a focus.whenever KunleOshob and his disciples get stuck, they get into irrelivances, and abuses. which doesnt desrve a response .
There is no need to reduce my question to KunleOshob and his disciples, because there are so many of us who are being enlightened by your posts.
We want to know the stand point from which you are posting. Don't deny us this at least.

debosky:
I have received a number of reports from Joe Agbaje regarding this thread.

I cannot claim to fully understand what is going on here as I haven't gone through the details.

All I will say is this - any focus on the person of Joe Agbaje should be reserved for another thread.

In that regard, I am inclined to delete the references to his alleged 'exposure' - can the posters please edit their posts and open a separate thread for that purpose?

Thanks.

Failure to do this by your NEXT post will certainly dismiss or confirm to a large extent the assertion that pastors are crooks
