The proverb means that people should also show good hospitality to their kinsmen (siblings) when they visit them, giving them a treat just like they would to a visitor.

I always tell my friends: live in reality, believe in fantasy. I can understand your idealism but if you can please stop at the military check point nearest to you, then approach any one of the army personnel there and tell him to speak up.

Ensure to come back here and post the results of that encounter.

"The fact that you wear a uniform does not insulate you from the politics of your country, in fact, it gives you more responsibility because when everything fails, it rests on your shoulder to defend the territorial integrity of the country, so speak up."
People, when is "speaking up" now the same as "acting up"?

Our military is now highly professionalised, they understand the difference between "speaking up" and "acting up"

The SSS as usual is acting like the GESTAPOS

Get your fact right!, wawa are the ebonyians + some part of enugu,

and, calling ppl from ebonyi "entirely another specie of people" is really disrespectful and annoying!
Sorry mate, I didn't mean any disrespect for the good people of Ebonyi.

Educate me please, what qualifies Ebonyians to be referred to as wawa?

Says who? What does 'wawa' mean? Do you know why they are called 'wawa' people?
Simply speaking, Wawa people are Enugu state folks who the wawa lingo is part of their dialect

Wa = No
Wawa = Emphatic NO

The cheapest in the south-east I should say. Wawa people are from Enugu and Ebonyi states. They have lesser stringent rules and requirements for traditional marriages.
For the records, Wawa people does not include all the Enugu state people let alone Ebonyi state people.

Wawa people are predominantly from Ezeagu/Udi/Oji river axis, extending down to Nkanu. That's basically Enugu West and East senatorial zone. Enugu North (Nsukka axis) are not Wawa.

Ebonyi (Abakaliki & Afikpo) people are entirely another specie of people  grin  undecided
Health › Re: Where Can I Find A "good" Gym In Abuja by youngies(m): 1:08pm On Aug 13, 2009
Just like Dis Guy said, most hotels in Abuja have gym facilities free for their guests, but the public pay to use such facilities. Such hotels like:
Protea Asokoro, RockView, Bolingo, Hilton, NICON luxury etc. The rates in these hotels can be considered "high" by visitors

Agura Hotels and perharps Ibro hotels are among the very few hotels that provide facilities with very affordable rates that encourage the public to visit them.

There are other centres in the city who provide only gym facilities as their business. Body GYM is along Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, opp NIIT before Peanial Apartments.

There is another GYM center by BANEX towards Denis hotel (I have forgotten the name of the street)

Meanwhile the GYMs in the barracks (WU Bassey, NIGER) are open for the public, but you have to be a member

I hope these info helps  smiley

Jokes Etc › Pay Your Rent When Due by youngies(op): 3:57pm On Aug 07, 2009
A businessman met a beautiful girl and agreed to spend the afternoon with her for R500. They did their thing, and, before he left, he told her that he did not have any cash with him, but he would have his secretary write a cheque and mail it to her, calling the payment 'RENT FOR APARTMENT.'

On the way to the office, he regretted what he had done, realizing that the whole event had not been worth the price. So he had his secretary send a cheque for R250 and enclose the following typed note:

Dear Madam,

Find enclosed a cheque for R250 for rent of your apartment. I am not sending the amount agreed upon, because when I rented the place, I was under the impression that:

1 - It had never been occupied;

2 - There was plenty of heat; and

3 - It was small enough to make me feel cosy and at home.

However, I found out that it had been previously occupied, that there wasn't any heat, and that it was entirely too large.'
Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the cheque for R250 with the following note:

Dear Sir:

First, I cannot understand how you could expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely. As for the heat, there is plenty of it, if you know how to turn it on.
Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it, please do not blame the management.

Please send the rent in full or we will be forced to contact your present landlady.

Meanwhile back to the topic (BTT), how many people on this forum know this 54 year old Umawa Oke Imo who is a disgrace to our common patrimony- Nigeria.
Next time when you or your relation or friends are harrassed or given sly looks because you are a Nigerian or of Nigerian descent, think about Umawa Oke Imo atrocities and other rogues like him who we honour as Chiefs, Elders, Baba Adinnis, GCFR etc but whose very acts of ommission and/or commission make life a living hell for you and I within and outside Nigeria.
Baseless!!!

You have inferiority complex of the highest order.

To those saying Yar"Adua is fine, my only question is: What make LCDA's created by Kastina (by Yar'Adua), Yobe, Nassarwa, etc different from the LCDA's created by Lagos State?
Do you really expect them to honestly answer this question?

Fashola has succeed in making Nigerians believe that things can really work in this country if we are allowed to choose the right leaders.

The devilish, wasteful UMY lead PDP government can only wish that Fash is like 'em, but he is not.

My prayer is for this saga to escalate and snow ball, it maybe the opportunity we all have been waiting for to put things right once and for all in this country
