Op, have you seen the design prototype? Something of that magnitude must have undergone professional scrutiny before approval. Especially in Lagos State.

I dont know why the NFA took an international game to a stadium thats in the middle of nowhere?

and 30k capacity, is that the best Nigeria could come up with?

Akwa Ibom or Uyo is not a football crazy city and its not central for all the fans to get to..

Nigeria needs a stadium that will create a hostile atmosphere for the opposition, not one that will make our opponent feel like they are playing at home.

It actually keeps me wondering why our President treasures his Fedora hat so much that he wears it to bed at night.

My little nephew would say "maybe he has horns" grin

But I feel this obsession is far stretched as he even wears the hat on suits.

Can anybody help clarify this weird obsession. Or are you also looking forward to this genuinely bizarre fashion style someday?

GO GET A LIFE!
Your obsession with this man is sickening

I am more patriotic than the average nigerian citizen ( that includes ur humble self), it's politicians, it's epileptic leaders, I don't necessarily have to list the sacrifices I have made for being a Nigerian, worse off being a Nigerian living in Diaspora, so don't give me that silly crap about patriotism on the peripheral level, a stupid term used by our corrupt politicians to perpetuate poverty because the average Nigerian at best is oblivious of his rights..

The bolded comment just made my heart cringe in anger, despair and disappointment especially if you are still considered a youth, if at 54 and the numerous resources available at our disposal, we have only succeeded in eating the crumbs from the table of the few affluent and the gulf between the rich and the poor has continously increased then we are a cursed nation..

Stop limiting yourself, Nigerians deserve better..way better..

I am sorry if I came out too strong in my reply.
My anger with the "we deserve better" phrase stems from the fact that simple shows of patriotism we had in the early 80's are no more. I feel saddened too at the way things are going in the country, but unlike most people, I won't lay the blame on our politicians alone.
Nigerians care less about Nigeria. Take a close look today, how many will fly the green-white-green? Can you compare that with the march past we had in the 80's? How every pupil practically dreamed of October 1st?

Roland17: ITS NOT ABOUT HOW FAR OR HOW OLD BUT HOW WELL AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN AFTER 54 LONG YEARS....NIGERIANS ABSOLUTELY DESERVE BETTER..

How patriotic are you?
When was the last time you felt nostalgia when the National anthem played, or felt really angry when you see tattered flags everywhere in the Nation?

Stop this "We deserve better" thing. We deserve even less, because we care less

fatdon2: I like to start with a nice dinner in a
good restaurant with good
ambiance . During the meal I like to
have a nice bottle of wine and good
conversation . After dinner a long
walk and I like to hold hands . If the date goes well , I like to invite my date
back to my place and I always put a
bottle of wine in to chill before I
leave so it will be ready when I get
home . We have some good wine and
good conversation relax a few kisses and some cuddling . I also like good
background music , I always ask my
date to pick the music . Then I will
take him home or he may wish to stay .
I leave that up to him and no
pressure . If the date was good then we are on our way to a second date
Hmm, and you are a "he"...

Oh! God bless you! You just nailed it. Saying thank you makes the heart of the giver to melt, and will always want to do more, even when it seems uncomfortable.

When you show appreciation to anyone, you are directly opening up more avenues for more favor.
Saying "thank you" and meaning it is the greatest key to open doors. Even our God enjoys our thanksgiving.

Every child around me MUST learn to show appreciation for even the smallest favor...I can't be with them forever, how then will they survive the world without favor from God and Man?

Do you know that majority of the almajiris you see around are not even nigerians? Only very few are.
This to me, is a plus because nigerian parents have gradually understood that the almajiri system has more negatives than positives; thus, very few still indulge in it.
Majority of the almajiri children in my town are from chad; they speak an alien dialect that isnt fulatanci or hausa or even arabic.
Pls the north isnt as bad as it used to be educationally. And we now have so many states here that can compete with any state in nig. educatnally.

Tell that to someone who hasn't lived for over 30 years in the north.
Culture / Re: The Plight Of The Northern Child by yousee(m): 5:47am On Sep 23, 2014
The one thing that baffles me is the Almajiri concept.

The young boy is drafted to a malam for tutelage, upon completion of studies, he is leased to a suya seller, cobbler, sugarcane hawker, etc where he learns the rudiments of that trade. Thus ends his destiny, he starts his own business, gets married and soon gets younger almajiri from the malams for business trade...

Meanwhile, these malams have their daughters and sons schooling abroad or at least in western education and Islamic education as well. Where do we find these crop of youths, in banks, telecoms, hospitals, military etc

Make I hear anybody wey go blame other regions for the northern woes.
