Thanks you to everyone that responded to my worry. I have been able to secure a nursery school for my four year old.

Please can anyone share the link to check if this falls under public fund. I thought three years upward is entitled irrespective of being a citizen or not.

Kindly enlighten me.

Thank you
Peerielass:

Are you here by yourself? This is why it’s really important to engage in some research before embarking on this japa journey…..childcare is a challenge and one of the biggest expense in this part of the world.

Your 4 year old would normally be entitled to 30hrs/week of free childcare but I’m not sure if this counts as public fund. You can use the link below to see if you can find a childminder with free spaces in your area. Whereabouts are you in Scotland?

Hello house,

Please seniors in the house I need urgent help. I just moved to Scotland and I have been trying to get my kids(age 2 and 4) into school but I have been made to understand that they are not up to the age.

Now, all nurseries in our catchment area are claiming they are filled for the session till August this year.

I will start my masters this Monday and I don't know how to go about it. My timetable is so tight. I have classes everyday to evening time.

Any idea of Nigerian mothers community that can help . Or Any idea at all. I am so confused.

I would appreciate any advice from the house. Thank you

Good day house,
Please I need urgent information concerning those that have paid for the proof of fund.
I have gained admission to study Business Administration -Business Development and Innovation at University of Stavanger.
Somebody, anybody with the actual amount deducted at the bank for that (128,887 nok).
Thanks in anticipation

Right here!

CuteTj:
@ Dumebi213, Arinze01 and fellow prospective applicants. Check the statistics for higher education in Norway including the number of applicants for your interested courses, number of people offered admission and other statistics at https://dbh.nsd.uib.no/ (use on chrome browser so it can be translated to english)

Hope this valuable information helps you have an idea of the acceptance rate of your interested courses.

Do not let the number of applicants and acceptance rate dampen your spirit. Also, do not forget that not everyone granted admission eventually accepts the admission therefore you definitely stand a chance in your choice course.

As Arinze01 earlier said, no one here has a say or can predict application outcome. Just apply to all schools that matches your bsc requirements and hope for the best. You should be amongst the lucky ones granted admission.

All the best guys...

Exactly my thought too.
kimewills:

Honestly I agree, the thread is almost dead. I wish people could share more information here especially people who have recently landed there. Even Poland's student thread is busier than this. I just try to get info on YouTube, although there too, not a lot of new YouTubers in Finland. It makes me wonder sometimes if the place is really fruitful for Nigerians.

Seriously guys!
Enough of this “add me to WhatsApp group” of a thing.
Before we know it, this thread will be full and closed but with no meaningful details.
What will other upcoming applicants use as information?

While we await more answers, let me try;
I don’t know about the people but I researched and found out students do mostly delivery jobs and other odd jobs because we need to learn and understand their language to get a formal job.
Relocating with spouse and children is possible but with more cost. One has to show capability financially by sending a certain amount to the Norwegian Institute where you gained admission.( not sure of the amount) and the spouse can work full time while student only 20 hrs /week.
Let’s wait for the seniors in the house

Ajibolaoi:

Can someone please let us know the possibility of getting a part time job during study..... Also what is the chance of getting a permanent position after graduation.

Also, it's possible to relocate wife and child/Children to Norway while study? And hope the dependant will be allow to work?

We need to make findings before taking decision.

I think this questions will help most of us here.

Who ever av people there should pls help to ask about this.

Thank you.

Hi sir, pls can you shade more light on this. This *2 of fund required has me worried. I also sent you a pm sir.
Thanks

Arinze001:

Ya, du kan (yes, you can)!

It's possible.

You've to transfer *2 of the block sum.

But, there are ways to bypass it. Tho, it requires patience.

If you've the money, green to go!

As an international student, the only way you can apply to CONESTOGA COLLEGE is via the ONTARIO COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL PORTAL

Go to the Page of the the program you want to apply for at Conestoga College, you would see APPLY, click on it and click on APPLY NOW : INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, it will take you to ONTARIO COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL PORTAL, when it opens you would see, CREATE ONE in blue color, click on it to sign up and create your OCAS account

Good day everyone,
Really appreciate the manner of response here that’s why I feel free to ask these questions;

1. Been trying to get where it states that I sent my bank statement while applying for admission but I didn’t. Could it be that it’s required when applying for visa?

2. To avoid delay, my wife also wants to apply so the kids(2) can accompany her. Is it okay?

3. If she applies as my spouse how reliable is it?

4. I already have a copy of my transcript. Can I send my transcript or have my school send another one?

5. Abeg the University is NTNU. Anybody with an experience with the school application ?

Thanks as I await response

Arinze001:

Hello Efair!

I'll gladly answer all questions asked in the order it was thrown;

1) Having a closing balance of NOK 123,519 ain't really advisable ( looking at the interest rates and currency fluctuations). Make provision for those contingencies. Try to raise it slightly higher at least to be on a safer lane.

2) If you've it stamped, that's lovely but the downloadable ones on Bank apps suffices too. It's official too. I used the one normally received monthly. So it's all acceptable.

3) If both of your name is on the statement, then it's satisfactory providing your name is also there. If it's not, then your Hubby needs to draft a sponsorship letter. BTW, a sponsorship letter is pretty easy to sample. I have samples.

4) To bring your Hubby and kids is 100% possible. The applicant ( your Hubby) is entitled to work 40hrs per week and your kids enjoy the privileges other kids enjoys too. I know applicants intending to bring their spouse and kids when they get there.

Additionally, it's equally possible to bring your fiancé/fiancée too.

Best of luck!

Really helpful. Bless you

Fgmp12:

Yes they can provided you have enough to cater for them when they get there and also it wouldn’t affect your studies.
Just make sure you make plans for them as much as you’re making plans for yourself.
BTW : they can serve as good home ties for you here and you get them there as soon as you get your TRV.

Thank you so much.

Adunola20:

Yes you can apply with them.
You need to show you have enough funds to cater for the three of you. I will advise you should have more than the minimum required funds on IRCC website.
Depending on their age, you can make arrangement for their daycare/school and attach it to their application.
You need to have other home ties, e.g: husband, your family, your job and others.
Pray, pray and pray!

All the best!

Good day sir,

I have gone through this thread and really appreciate your contributions.
My husband and I will like to embark on new Zealand journey as permanent residence( this Naija done tire person)
Considering the skilled immigrant pathway;
He has been working with chi limited for more than 8 years now as a senior quality assurance officer for all kinds of drinks and diary product. Less than 39 years of age.
But on the list of long term shortage of occupation, we don’t have his work there but food technologist.
I also have more than 6 years of experience in administration
Both Studying for IELTS now during this lockdown.

My question:
Can his work (Quality control)be categorized under this( food technologist) cos it’s all related.

Response will be greatly appreciated

well, we don't know what the outcome of this Pandemic would be. But getting an electrical job should not be hard regardless...... However u will definitely need to be NZ certified. You should probably look into the certification process first
