If you're sure that your CRS will remain 445 if you add the new IELTS. I'll say decline the ITA.
445 is a high score to receive ITA in this month of February.

Meanwhile, I won't advice that madam declare you as unaccompanying, after adding you as accompanying initially. VO may look into the reason for editing profile and may think its because of the high score.

Let others try.

I pray God directs you on the best possible option to take.

BoboXIV:
Hello all,

Silent reader, Active applicant here. smiley

First, thanks to all who started this and share their experiences on here. And yes, I started from Page 0, Thread 1 sef. smiley

So I have a challenge that I am hoping someone else may have dealt before or maybe get advice on how to proceed.

Some background: my missus is the primary applicant ( She's got a Masters degree, I don't) and based on her CRS score of 449, we got an ITA, Nov 15 last year. Currently, we have all documents uploaded,Medical forms, References, POF docs, Police report (had to travel to Kenya to get mine as well as I lived there for a bit) etc. However, my first IELTS score expired Dec 16th ( After we received the ITA) and the earliest date I was able to get for a new test was for today Feb 1st. Writing this just as I get back to my desk at work. The Missus and I actually both wrote the test in 2015 December but while I had the right scores then, she fell short in one area (Writing I think) by 0.5. but we got in the pool circa April 2016 ( ECA Delays cos of UNILAG) Lets just say she finally summoned courage to do the test again in October last year and finally got the right scores at end of October leading to the Nov ITA cutoff of 439

So fast forward to today. The deadline for submission for our ITA is Feb 14 ( more like midnight on Feb 13) and from what was announced today, the IELTS results will only come out on Feb 14th. Now without my score, Madam's CRS drops to 436 which is below the CRS cutoff that we got our ITA. However, if she takes me out as " Non-Accompanying" it will be 445. Fact is I'm not immediately planning to relocate anyways but concerned that if we go this route, there may be drama down the line if/when I try to get a visa to Canada. So, having endured a number of sleepless nights on this, I feel that these are my options

1. Submit application anyway immediately with my expired IELTS test results and update it once the new test result comes out on the 14th of Feb.(I'm fairly confident that I will have reasonable scores) . I have seen on the CIC website that you can update your details even after applying in cases of things like expired results

2. Wait till the morning of 13th Feb and pray the IELTS results comes out earlier than the advertised date( I don't know if this happens though). Madam is a bit scared of this option though ( What if their server crashes? What if their are issues with Payment platform? What if Donald Trump takes over Canada and builds a wall)

3. Decline ITA and wait for next favourable draw. Note though that Madam will lose 5 points in June so CRS will now drop from 449 to 445. What if the CRS doesn't fall again. This is also like my least favoured option o. Even my liver is reaching out to "konk" my head for thinking of this?

4. Take me out as "Non-Accompanying" and have her apply with the kids at the 445 score, hope they get the PR status, then start hustling a regular Canadian Visa after they do. Note that I would need to go with them for a few weeks when relocating to settle them in before coming back to the hustle in the "Obodo Naija"

So this is my dilemma...will appreciate any advice from the house generally or anyone who's been in this sort of scenario.

Again, thanks to everyone making this thread a source of information and inspiration on this journey.

Regards,

BoboXIV

I'll say evaluate with IQAS.

Asking for a friend. IELTS score L 8 S8 R9 W8. Spouse score L4.5. S.7 R.4.5 W.6.5. she is a lawyer and used WES which rated her degree as bachelors making her CRS score 389. She S asking which makes more sense evaluating her law school certificate as a second degree or use IQAS. Please help

Let me add this to canny vs oz, Racism is everywhere in the world but from someone who has been living in oz for almost 3yrs I can tell U that oz is following or implementing everything about America immigration system, if U understand what I mean, let me also add that some refugees from Africa are not representing well causing a lot of national chaos (Google apex gang in Melbourne). As someone who works in health care industry "they don't like us they only need us" I'd say among all the western nation as OF TODAY that Canada is most friendly nation.above all, the economy here is really really good I must say.

LOL....

You were qualified to practice law the day you were called to the Nigerian Bar.
As you know, with only LL.B you are can't practice.

But then, when you graduated from university you qualified as a lawyer.
But it is when you graduate from law school you qualify to practice as a barrister and solicitor.

Let me ask a lawyer with PR already, I'll be back

Regards.

Ethelia:
Hmn, it's really confusing. Which do I go with now? call to bar date or university graduation date? from the wording of the question I think it's the graduation date as it asks for when you 'first' became qualified to practice.

Please lawyers that have gotten ppr which one did you put in your profile??

As for NCA, at least let me get ita first na grin
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by ysteph: 1:15pm On Jan 23, 2018
You became qualified to practice law the day you were called to the bar.

Have you started your evaluation with NCA?

Ethelia:
Please I'm back again grin

My fellow lawyers, when completing the profile, there is a question about 'which date did you first become qualified to practice this profession' .

Do I use the date I received my university degree (which is what I have an ECA from IQAS for, or do I use Law school call to bar date?

Thanks

The baby was born in the sky therefore he/she is a global citizen, not requiring visa to enter any country grin grin

On a more serious note, all of you guys saying the mom wanted the baby to be an automatic US citizen may not be entirely right, recall she is 41years and most women once they have crossed 40 years are a bit apprehensive about child bearing as they are more likely to have complications at that age, hence most of them I know opted to have their babies in the US (especially) and other European countries just so they can get the best of medical care.

Okay. Thank you.

IQAS acknowledged your documents after six weeks.
Mine isn't up to six weeks, although i have mailed them yesterday.
Fingers crossed.

God's grace.

Ethelia:
Good morning,

My documents were delivered on the 1st of November and on the 14th I contacted them asking for an update. of course they replied saying I had to wait 4 weeks.

on the 1st of December they sent a mail stating they had received all my documents except for the application form. this was weird because my contact in my school included all the documents in the envelop with my transcript. Anyway I faxed the application Form to them using hello fax on the 2nd of December.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by ysteph: 6:27am On Jan 17, 2018
Good morning,

Thank you for the encouragement.
Can you tell us how long your documents got delivered to them before they sent the acknowledgement mail on the 4th of December?

Ethelia:
Hi everyone, for my fellow lawyers and people who want to use IQAS, don't let the processing time on their website scare you away ( currently it says 12 to 13 weeks) as it can be less than that.

I got the email from them on the 4th of December that they have received all documents and yesterday my ECA was mailed to me ( around 6 weeks).

God's Grace to us all on this journey

This story answers a lot of my questions.

Congratulations on your PPR.

1) Date of Birth discrepancy on Transcript and WES – I got an Affidavit to explain that the discrepancy was an error from the University and that my correct date of Birth was clearly stated on my Birth certificate and Int’l passport which I attached.
2) Various names used on my documents i.e. maiden name vs married name – I had done a newspaper change of name after marriage but I never got around to changing the name on my int’l passport because the process was longer when I got married. I got a one and the same Person affidavit to clearly state that the both names should be considered as variations of my name and not name changes.
3) My passport is in my maiden name and had exactly 6 months validity at the point of submitting my application. I applied for a new one (still in my maiden name Cos I didn’t want any delay) and uploaded to CIC via a CSE
4) Details entered for Education and Work History for my spouse before ITA were moved to Personal History post ITA – I moved it cos I didn’t do ECA for my spouse plus we didn’t bother to get a reference letter from his employers. I included in my letter of explanation that the required documents were not available currently
5) Proof of funds was in a joint account – I attached a letter of consent from my spouse
6) Birthday occurred between ITA and AOR. This should have taken my CRS score below the minimum score for the round i got ITA for. However, It didn't affect our application, I guess they applied the exemption policy here
7)Asides from my Letter of explanation, I Included a cover letter for the various sections I felt needed some explanation and also to make it tidy e.g. proof of funds, work experience, education (cause of 2 above) etc.

Finally, I would like to say that no two applications are the same. What applies for one may not apply for the next person. Feel free to ask me questions I will answer to the best of my knowledge[/quote]

12 weeks is counting from the 2nd e mail.

It think you should use the NOC for which you have the 8 - 9 years experience.

Not in a position to answer your first question.

Please when was your document delivered at IQAS?
Take Care

Hello All,

Also regarding IQAS (I am a lawyer), I got a 1st email acknowledging receipt of my application and payment on nov 6, 2017, then a 2nd email acknowledging receipt of my academic documents on jan 2nd, 2018, at what point does 12 weeks start counting? from the 1st or 2nd email?

Finally, on IELTS, i am yet to get confirmation of payment. i paid since day b4 yesterday and used a snap shot of my mobile banking platform as evidence of payment. pls what do i do o?
