I've been a silent reader but I thought to share my experience

Visa was denied at the US Consulate Lagos

My transcript goes thus:

VO: Pass me your Passport, I-20, SEVIS

Me: Passes documents

VO: How did you get the scholarship?

Me: A culmination of my application - competitive GRE Score, Quality work experience, stellar recommendations and an impressive interview experience

VO: (looks impressed)...I can see your husband has been in the US for the past one year. Care to explain why?

Me: We are divorced, He is my ex-husband.........

VO: Sorry, you do not qualify for the visa...blah blah and hands me the pink slip

Me: Walks away feeling super-dejected


(Please note; My total funding was $75,594 per Annum = $151,188 for two years)

How did our people mess up the whole stuff even for an individual who wants to attend his daughter'sgrafuation? Please explain?

My friend's dad who's base in UK (a UK resident) who wants to confirm for his daughter's graduation was denied visa there in UK ...

It's so sad that our people messed up the whole b1/b2 visa process

Humility how? He should not subject himself to security check...as if he's not a human being like others.

Bemigho Reno Omokri, was born on January 22, 1974 to Helen Bemigho a civil servant and Justice Jean Omokri a justice of the Nigerian Court of Appeals.

Until May 29, 2015, Reno Omokri was the Special Assistant on New Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria.
When he was the Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno was popular for using social media to conduct surveys and project the developments undertaken by the Nigerian Government. He founded the multi-media project, Build Up Nigeria, with which he has produced a series of short films in the United States.

Reno Omokri is a pastor of the Mind of Christ Christian Center in California and Abuja. He is a regular writer of articles for major newspapers.

When late Umaru Musa Yar’adua was evacuated from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia on November 23, 2003, for an health emergency, Reno Omokri was one of the signatories of a letter by a group of eminent Nigerians (G 57) that called for the resignation of the former President. In the year 2011, he led some Nigerians in Diaspora to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2011 elections.

It was Reno Omokri who represented the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, at a national conference on ‘Inter-Faith Dialogue and the Quest for National Security in Nigeria', a program organized by the Interfaith Activities and Partnership for Peace, IFAPP. While speaking on behalf of the President, Omokri urged Christian and Muslim leaders to focus on Jesus as the common Denominator between their two faiths. He however caused a stir when he stated on camera that The Quran mentions Jesus by name 25 times and even five times more than it (The Quran) mentions Mohammed. He also argued that almost every prophet in Judaism and Christianity is accepted in Islam.

Presently, Omokri is the host of 'Transformations With Reno Omokri', a Christian teaching program which is broadcast to 23 million homes in the United States of America across cable outlets that including, Comcast (KTLN Chanel 25, Sundays at 12am) DISH Network (Impact Network, Chanel 268, Thursdays at 10pm) and Roku. The program which lasts 30 minutes on weekly telecast is produced by the Mind of Christ Christian Center in California.

Nope. If I were you I'll go for the interview. Answer the question truthfully as it comes. Whatever the VO decides.

i just received my passport from the embassy having done drop box after 2 months in their possession and have been given nearer date precisely June 22 for appointment. Am actually going for a training taking place currently as filled in my ds160. So do i just jettison the interview since the purpose of traveling has been defeated or i should attend??

When I asked if NU is a red flag school I wasn't expecting the answer he gave me. A simple it is not a red flag school would have been ideal. To say I'm not ready for grad school or I am suppose to have done research isn't an answer. Thank you.

Depends on the consular you meet. Some would not even take it let alone look at it. It can be used but nobody can say how that will go for your application. Statement of account is ideal.

On the school's website is it written red flag school?

I submitted fixed deposit for mine and it was accepted though I added an account statement with it.

Treasury Bill certificate was rejected.

Good morning people. Please can I use a fixed deposit certificate to go for student Visa interview at the US embassy? Secondly is Northeastern University, Boston a red flag school?

I got my F1 Visa with a valid B1/B2 Visa. If you have a valid visa, the VO is going to check details about how long you spent there and what you said you were going to do at the POE (I think...coz she knew I visited my school)... She'll also check your previous interview..

If there are any flags, like spending a long time there, the VO would ask you why.

If your F1 is denied, your B1/B2 would remain intact...except if she sees that you did not obey immigration laws in your previous trips.

I saw a case online about a man (with B1/B2) that stayed in the US for 6 months and then immediately he came back he carried his whole family for an interview..
Though 6 months is the max (legal)..the VO denied his family and cancelled his visa..coz the VO suspected that he wants to carry his family there and live permanently illegally.

Q2. No its two seperate category so denial of one doesnt affect the other. Except if other issues occur such as a ban or fraud detected

I successfully renewed my B1/B2 through dropbox last month. Third time having a B1/B2.
However, i just received my i20 and planning to apply for a student visa at the end of June.
My school resumes in August.
Q1. What are my chances of getting an F1 visa with my valid B1/B2.
Q2. In the event that i am refused an F visa, do you think my valid B1/B2 will be cancelled.

P.S. I am going with one dependent (child) who also has a valid B1/B2.

If F1 is denied the B1 does not get cancelled unless you are being banned for falsification etc. Best of luck

I forgot to got to the interview with my Ds160, so i miss my appointment because of that. I was asked to reschedule but i need to know if rescheduling my time will not affect my medical and police examination report. I initially ought to take the medical exam two weeks before my interview. Pls I seriously and urgently needs help on how to go about this.

My first time in the US was for conference.
A conference I sponsored myself.
I came back. I've visited severally after that.
So not everyone going to the US is going to 'japa'.
