Hello drfdee, please how did u go about your babys ticket? i called KLM and they are giving me an outrageous quote of $368.10 for a return ticket since my baby will be going with a visa.

Hello house, I have my interview this week and I'm going for visa with my two kids. Do I need letter of consent from their father, despite the fact that we're using his statement of account?
U don't need any letter of consent. Good thing he already has a valid US visa. Just make sure u have a photocopy of the visa page and be quick to tell the VO that he already has a visa.

I had very same experience as hubby already had a visa before my kids and I went for our interview. The vo only asked if I was married and why he wasn't going with us. I quickly told him the he already has a visa and would be travelling with us. He then asked for a copy of the visa and that was the end of my interview. We got ours. Most importantly don't forget to pray!!!

Hi Yuddiepro/Cgy,
We are looking at hospital in Michigan (henryford). Pls I need a good hospital with low hospital Fee in Michigan, the contact and the breakdown of the bill. Please ur urgent response will be highly appreciated.
Hello Teehey, CHYG used oakwood Annapolis hospital now known as Beaumont Wayne Hospital and I intend using same soon. Just log on to their site and u will see the cost for self pay. They don't send emails out cos I have tried to plead with them. For the doctor, search for Dr Anthony Udo-inyang. He is a Nigerian and his prices are more than fair. When are u leaving?

All the glory to God! I arrived Detroit yesterday via KLM, flew klm to Amsterdam and delta to Detroit. I flew at 31 weeks and wasn't asked for fitness to fly. After paying 34usd for a preferred seat on the flight to Amsterdam I was so disappointed. The seat beside me was vacant and some annoying guy with a stinking breath who didn't like his original seat was made to sit there and made my trip so uncomfortable with his constant poking, turning and yawning. There were so many vacant seats o, I wonder why he was directed to that one mschewww. Got to Amsterdam around 5.30am and had to wait 4hrs 30mins for the flight to Detroit. Thank God I requested for special assistance, I was driven in that their auto wheel to a service centre where I chilled and was picked up later and dropped at my boarding gate.

Getting to the gate o, i go find trouble. Instead of me to just lay low with my big belle and green passport, I got up to go speak with one of the ladies at the counter ( after all I was honest at my visa interview so why hide), the seat on my boarding pass and seat I reserved did not tally and I wanted to know why. I hadn't finished asking my question when one black guy in suit asked to see my passport. That's how questions you expect at Poe started, he took me aside and asked for my reason for going to the U.S.

Me: childbirth
Guy in suit (GIS): you are quite direct
Me: (b4 Nko)
GIS: let me have your documents (he types on his phone for a while)
Before I knew it, he said you were denied a visa to the UK in 2014
Me: yes I was and I reapplied in 2015 and got it (y do they keep hammering on this denial sef)
GIS: what do you do and what does your hubby do
Me: I sha respond
He asked a lot, went through every single doc and finally let me join the queue to board the plane.

Got to Detroit and was wheeled to immigration, the friendly Cbp asked the normal questions and requested for docs and sent me for secondary inspection. Let me add that Detroit airport was empty so they had a lot of time on their hands. The guy who wheeled me left me, the Cbp was initially acting all tough but he later relaxed and joked with me. Went through my documents, I had just 3kusd cash on me ( he didn't ask to see it). Had bank statement of 4m Naira which he asked to see. He concluded that I made sure all my bills were paid and receipts collected. Let me add he also talked about the UK visa that was denied ( how long will dt singular denial hunt me?) I was stamped till may 2016. Someone finally came to wheel me out after spending 15mins listening to other people's interview. Went to Agric and tuber of yam was seized. Finally with my wonderful sister inlaw and family. Baby is due Xmas day and I will be using henry-ford. May God grant us all safe delivery and all the best to the other moms who are just starting this mission.
Congrats dear on your successful Poe. I'm also Michigan bound in January. Changed my mind doh from California due to plenty issues.Sent you a pm please respond

Dear Mama's and Papa's in d house,

I recently joined this forum and with great plans of having my baby in the US. Patiently gone thru the thread and couldn't get an info on hospitals around San Jose area in California.
Well after several shouts and pleas for info I decided it's time for me to take the bull by the horn and find something for myself. So I tot I should share what I've got incase future San Jose mama's come on board.

Contacted 3 hospitals and got the following quotes from them:
El Camino hospital- $6000 2 nights stay for mum and baby

O'connor hospital - $5,500 for 2 nights too

Good samaritan hospital -$4,800

The financial counselor I spoke with at Good Sams offered to help out with docs that accept self pay patients and got me one dr Karen Kohurt who gave a bill of $2,200.

Well I'm still searching and praying that a get a better deal though I've been told that I can't anything lesser in that area.

I hope this helps and Pls if there is anyone with an info that will help biko share. Mbok

Hello dear people,

Sorry, this is coming late jare but I have had my hands very full.

I had my gorgeous princess about 2 weeks ago! It was an amazing experience. My hospital and OBGYN were amazing! I got great care. I did, however, keep asking what was free or not...lol, remembering what I read here.
I got charged $360 for a false labour trip to the hospital. The care though was amazing. I was given some packs of Pampers, wipes, disposable panties, pads, tubs of Tucks (fantastic for post partum stitch healing), sheets to protect bed, baby bag, going home set for baby, a few other clothes, belly binder, etc. As each nurse took a shift, my friend and I would request for more supplies...hospital cost covered it nah..lol. We were discharged the next day, now awaiting my zero balance from them.

A big thanks again to all of you who shared their stories here to educate and guide us.

Now in the documentation stage - abeg MamaTobenna, OMary83 and other mummies who gave birth in Cali, how long does it take for BC to come out o? Because these people are telling me 15 working days. How did you ladies do yours please? Did you get expedited?
Congrats dear on the arrival of ur LO. Thank God for safe delivery. Please what part of California did u have ur baby?

Dear mama's and Papa's ,

Please I'm in need of a hospital and doctors contact in san Jose California.. I have my relatives in California and Michigan but I hear the weather condition in Michigan. In January is unbearable. I am a January mum and I need to explore the California option before I can decide. I know it's rather early but I want to do all I can now to avoid last minute issues.

Thank you
