angiography:Also, remember to reference me when we achieve our goal. You can be stone hearted when it doesn't concern you but don't you ever expect another to feel your pains when you are at the receiving end. Always remember that they are unarmed and peaceful protesters. 'When you eventually kill the emotional part of a man be ready to confront the beast you have turned him to be' Yujin. |
The protest should continue this time with civil servants(both state and federal) inclusive. Let no one be coarsed into it but be carried along. Igwe bu ike umuigbo. Shutting down a region and other friendly states will be a major headline across the media world and will achieve more. Of course the barbaric Nigerian Army will be out to do their usual acts of terrorism which we should try to control by having international media anchors covering the protests. We should also have powerful cameras that can zoom into far distances so that we can cover the faces of the soldiers that would involved in any shooting. Buying such expensive cameras should be nothing compared to our struggle. Let's also have big placards with non provocative but well worded message to tell our story to the world. Igbo, o bu anyi ji onwe anyi. Na njedebe, nmeri g'abu nke anyi. |
kettykin:Good question. Now, there's a saying that says if you want peace prepare for war. It does not matter how much the well known Nigerian Army kills our people. We and the world will at least know who are behind the killings unlike for us to keep on hearing that faceless herdsmen are killing and ransacking our communities. The attack against the military is to gather public attention that will ensure that the herdsmen case be taken seriously. Anything short of this will bring a repeat of the Tiv situation in Enugu state. Formally, the Tivs held the herdsmen down until the Zaki biam debacle that weakened them and left them at the mercy of faceless so called fulani herdsmen. Igbo is a big group and should not fear any intimidation from the Nigerian Army else we are domed. Besides, killing soldiers will at least send fear into the hearts of others on how the actions should be among our people. Let there be a big media coverage of the activities going on there. DO NOT EVER GIVE IN TO ANY INTIMIDATION FROM THE NIGERIAN ARMY WHO ARE WORKING WITH THE FULANIS. Finally, we must be very proactive in our approach to security. Let every community in such crises prone areas have contacts with our people in the army barracks or station closest to them for confirmation of any such arrest while it is still on going to know how genuine such arrests are. Our local politicians should lend a voice to the affected community leaders when investigations are going on. We know our position in Nigeria so no one needs to tell us that we should be eternally vigilant. |
BlackTechnology:Not yet bro. I'll let you know before I return. |
Ariani:I never for once mentioned Nigeria. Its for a reason. Go through my contribution once again and this time with an open mind and you will discover a lot of messages. The Jews started their race way before the establishment of their present State. This is the singular reason why the are the tops. Do you notice that there's nothing like Samaritans any more. Their period of devastation and humiliation helped wiped out those idiotic classifications. Some African tribes are passing through that phase today if only they realize it and continue their excellence in perseverance. You can create your own country when you do the right things consistently. Nigeria just like other African countries of creation of the Europeans so if you align properly you can have them help recreate your own country for you. I hope you do understand now. Lamentation most times solves nothing. Having a plan and working towards it is the real deal. |
Sealeddeal:I've been saying this thing here for a long time but Mynd44 keeps on deleting my contributions if he doesn't ban me. Nigerian Army is deeply involved in what is happening all through. We must pass a strong message to the Nigerian government by having a clash with the Army. It must be done in a ruthless manner such that they will know we mean business. Some of our people who totally blind to what is happening or who fraternizes with them should be among the casualties to pass a message to others. Like noblezone will say; we are at war. @topic. Who did arrest them then? We must dig this fast as possible and with every media coverage as possible. Let us become restless until we know who are behind it and they all must be released with immediate effect. If you are perceived as weak every cockroach will dance on you. |
In the known world, there are few nations that have been associated with perseverance and excellence. They are the Jews, Germans and Japanese. Many other ethnic groups fall short of joining this league because they lack perseverance. Excellence alone is not enough. At present, when you look at these nations, they actually rule over their immediate regions. They also have passed through the phase of devastation and humiliation but still emerged the giants they are today. Sadly, no African nation is among them not because we are blacks. Its all about perseverance. A majority of us lack that one factor for such lofty position. As at today, these nations are strategically found in the only four continents that are peopled and owned by the aborigines viz; Asia(Japan), MiddleEast(Israel), Europe(Germany) and Africa(?). Aborigines of the Americas and Australia have been subsumed in their lands. There are excellence driven nations(ethnic groups) in Africa but can they muster the courage to persevere and fill in the vacant slot up there? A point to grasp again is that these nations are not beneficiaries of the wealth of others. They don't have colonies to rip and build there economies. Keyword: excellence and perseverance. If you challenged, give in your best to bring glory to your nation(ethnic group) whilst not destroying others. Whatever you do let it be geared towards constructive change or improvements. Respect to the Japs. |
This Islamic coalition force whatsoever must be rejected by all Christians and free minded men alike. Always project into the future what this implies for non muslims in Nigeria. If Nigeria as a member country and join other Islamic states to go into any trouble muslim countries and carry out military operations, she herself will not be exempted to host the hordes of muslim soldiers on invitation. Imagine what a Christian dominated region will face in the hands of an international coalition of Islamic armies. Let's always be proactive in relation to Islam. Islam and politics are inseparable so do the maths. Is Nigeria an Islamic country? NO! On what basis then are we involving ourselves in such a venture? Any clever person will know it doesn't portend well for the already oppressed Christians in Nigeria. Oh yes I say oppressed Christians. If not why would an assumed secular state have a religious code of law enshrined in her constitution? Are Christians minority in Nigeria? Why will Nigeria be a member of OIC? Ok. Can Nigeria also join an organization of Christian states to balance the equation? Let's ask ourselves these questions. As a matter of fact, Christians should demand that Nigeria withdraw her membership from the OIC. Failure to do these things is a recipe for total religious enslavement. I'll advise Christians to go and the study the history of Sudan from the year 1000AD. You will see the trend and how we are towing a similar path. Before our very eyes, hundreds of Churches were burnt down in the north. Any single mosque torched in the south is rebuilt by the state government. Now I ask: will the FG rebuild all the churches destroyed by boko haram and other similar religious violence against Christians? Out the billions budgeted for the reconstruction of the NE, what percentage will be expended in catering for homeless and traumatized Christian communities? Will all Christian keep quiet because the region involved is far away from theirs? Will we keep shut and watch our brethren suffer in neglect in the interest of peace as some simpletons will want us to do. For some, Southern Sudan should have swallowed all what the Sudanese government was doing to her for the interest of peace. All I'm saying is that we ought to search for the dark coloured goat while it's still day time. |
Great thread nwanna. Anambra its in a league of its own when compared to other states in Nigeria. Having travelled and lived in other regions both East, West and North I can confidently say what I've said. Adazi Nnukwu is representing wella. Now, when some westerners erroneously assume that our saying that we want to visit our villages imply we want to go back to antiquity and abandoned lands, it is borne out of sheer ignorance. Many of them are only working with what holds sway in their own domain. This is what I mean. The settlement pattern between ndigbo and ndi-Yoruba is not the same. The settlement pattern among ndigbo is mainly of a villa kind with dispersed homes cascading in a well defined boundary. Just few of our communities had a compacted settlement that gives a sort of an urbane settlement. During my travels around Igboland, places I saw such closely knitted houses traditionally are in the Oratta(Owerri) area of Imo state and the Ika(Agbor)area of delta state. This is to say that compacted settlements among the majority of Ndigbo is a new thing. On coming to Yorubaland, the opposite is the case. Closely knitted houses which gave rise to an urban outlook was the norm. Most of their villages were isolated and thinly peopled and will always remain so because only few people hail from such places and with the recent rural-urban migration, they are the worst hit. Unlike in Igboland where villages are thickly populated and not in isolation but are tied to nearby patrilineally related villages to make up a community, those in Yorubaland are in isolation- each village to itself. As of today, a good number of those Igbo communities have taken the shape of townships with infrastructural improvements and social amenities in many of them. This is the reason why most Igbo people travel back home during the end of the year. Oh yes, some of them are still as rural as of old but the houses therein are of the modern type. So when next you as an Igbo man tells your Yoruba friend that you are travelling to the village, understand why he thinks you are going back to obscurity. |
Zobski:Op always think through what you intend to achieve before you write down what you want to communicate. Igbos residing in northern Nig is not northern Igbos. Igbos are Igbos without any sectional adjectives to differentiate them. Igbos born in the north or those who have resided in that region for long of which I'm proudly one are not more real in any aspect than our kinsmen back home. It will be foolishness to state other wise. Although some of the points you noted might be valid in some instances, they are not entirely true. The only clear differences I've noted are these; 1. Majority of us born in the North are no more very competitive like our brothers back home. We still have the drive to excel and make wealth but the fierce nature of our home based relations in their pursuit of achievements remain exceptionally high. 2. We the northern based Igbos to an extent have a broader view of Nigeria because of the interactions we've had with our tribes and groups. Consequently, we tend to make better social judgements than our brothers back home. That said, I'll make some things categorically clear here. Many people tend to make the fallacy of generalization. The north has a lot of Igbos residing there and many of her people have been kind to us. We have even intermarried with some of the numerous tribes there. We have invested heavily there too and contributed to the development of the land. However, one thing that is a big turn off is the lack of respect for human life. From the loitering multitudes of young busybodies who can destroy your entire life work just over an irrelevant allegation to the government officials who can promulgate laws targeted at crippling your genuine source of income for either tribal or religious differences. To sum it all up, you are living in a region where you are not sure of what can happen the next moment. Points to note! Do we support biafra? I can wager that a majority of us do. Do we support IPOB? I believe a lot of us do too but are very concerned about our investments. Do we believe in one Nigeria? Yes, if only it can boast of an egalitarian society where justice, equity, peace and prosperity is guaranteed. Biafra becomes an option when it is glaring that the desired is not in sight. Have we forgotten about the the events of the war? No, we have not. How can we forget when occasionally we ourselves have been attacked and killed for no crimes whatsoever. We have forgiven those who genuinely apologized to us and asked for forgiveness mostly the northern Christians. We are still ready to forgive others if they apologize and bring justice and equity to the fore in the administration of Nigeria. Once again Ndigbo are one and can never be painted with divisive adjectives to satisfy anyone. |
lookandlaff:**** Non of you can talk at present that the fulanis are killing many innocent farmers across 5 regions in Nigeria. Already thousands have been killed and a lot more displaced. I'm sure in the future people like you will justify the killings by looking for one excuse to absolve the marauding nomads of their selfish destructive past. |
When insurgency starts let no one blame any of us. You can never gag millions of people who share the same ideology. We don't want Nigeria. She has no value for life and no positive plan for us. If you think you can militarily suppress us you are joking. Nigeria will keep on bleeding until she goes down on her knees. Its only a matter of time until we resist weapon for weapon. Demonic contraption called Nigeria. The shame of the black race and good for nothing giant of Africa. |
The great Roman Empire did not fall to any mighty army or superior force but to the persistent vandals and visigoths. Slowly and steadily they pressed hard on the forces of Rome until they succeeded. The Nigerian Army is in such a stage today and they would suffer the same fate. They have shed too much innocent blood and their own time of recompense is near. The creeks and its surrounding will be their valley of death. Many of you- the supporters of this evil contraption called 'one Nigeria' should brace up to join the military and go fight in the creeks. Perhaps you will find an honourable death for your dishonourable souls there. The days of injustice and oppression is over. The only reason why I hate boko haram is the indiscriminate killings of innocent people and their desire to force people into Islam. If not for that I'd have supported them against the Nigerian Army. Today, Nigerian Army will face a different kind of soldiers. Curse be any SS or SE soldier that would join in attacking the militants of the Niger Delta. Buhari is yet to send the nigerian army against his fulani brothers destroying farmers and their crops in their ancestral lands but here he is sending the army to attack the already cheated and pauperised people of the Niger Delta. We are watching. |
coolitempa:I still vividly remember how buhari ignored the invitation Oputa panel handed to him. Did any of you call for buhari's head then? Just felt like reminding you. If buhari is above the law, Tompolo too is above the law. I know you and your likes will dismiss my post without any consideration but the end result will shock all of you. Get ready to wear the khaki and march to the Niger Delta. Gone are the days of divide and rule. No one militant group will be touched in isolation while the others stay and watch. Those days are gone. |
Over 8000 views but just 86 posts. Just observing. |
janellemonae:What you saw in my post that informed your reply is a reflection of your thought process. You are the insecure one here. I simply tried to expantiate on population distribution and how people interpret it and here you are trying to sound clever. Igbos generally do not compare themselves with Yorubas. What is there to compare and contrast? Is it in education, entertainment, commerce and industry, community development or adventure? The only serious challenge Ndigbo are having in Nigeria is how to break free from her retrogressive atmosphere. |
Voodoo politics and mundane stunt. A supposed country where no one uses coins is cutting down oil price by 50kobo while the product itself is very scarce. We shall see how it pans out in 2016. |
With regards to the issue of population, Igbo has always been dominant in the whole ofo southern Nigeria. An average Yoruba may never agree to this because what he sees around him paints a picture of them being very populous. How do I mean? They have always been psuedo urban dwellers. Having big towns with huge populations concentrated in those areas does not equate to having a bigger population. Then when you come to Igboland, you have an unusually high population density spread over a majority of the land. This tells a great deal of story on the Igbo population but given a smaller land area brings another twist to it. How do we solve this twist? Going back to earlier history when little politics was involved in affairs of the colonialists i.e before the 60's, available records have always given Igbo a higher population. The british have always made remarks about population when discussing Ndigbo and for the Yorubas, they always talk about the urban settlements of the Yorubas. |
Nnamdi Kanu I believe had a well arranged plan and he is gradually executing it. He said all he said was to garner attention and that he has got. As long as he's unapologetic in the quest for biafra I'm solidly with him. If he backs out, I'll personally not support anyone calling for it but will pursue it myself. I hate injustice with every being in me. I can defend an innocent man with my last strength. Ndigbo has been treated unfairly in Nigeria and many hindrance has been placed on their path. My father's legacy is still there but how was he repaid? Unless Nigeria is restructured I'll clamour for biafra with all I have. May God grant us a safe haven in biafra. Amen |
@OP, why did you choose such a monicer? Can you tell me the reason behind your death wish to the generality of Ndigbo? I hope foreigners are reading. |
PentiumPro:Olohun ko le gba adura yi. God is not sentimental. He's very judicious and have seen our suffering. If truly a majority of your people pray like this, then you deserve his wrath. |
Awoofawo:There's nothing worst you lots can do to the Igbos more than what you've done to us already. At will, you guys go on a killing spree with the attendant destruction. We have been bearing the pains for decades. I personally have seen horrors. There's nothing worst you can do. You who quoted me can do like your folks by cooking up stories to instigate attacks against biafrans. Many of your brothers have been doing it for long. That one is not new too. Everything is well recorded. You can't treat us as inconsequentials and expect us to give you a pat in the back. |
superstar1:Don't rush. We will not start a war. We know what you vultures want and so will not grant it to you. You just be patient. Nigeria as we know her can never develop. Oh yes, she can't develop and so the accumulation of problems will weigh her down then your worst nightmare will come. Let me stop here. You can mock or loathe, it won't change anything. Nnamdi Kanu being in your custody is already a heavy weight on your government. You know the implication already. |

What are the man's crimes? This definitely looks like a north African country. If so, Libya comes to mind. Like someone said, he's most likely a stranded blackman found in unwanted places therein after Ghadaffi's death. Man's inhumanity to man. Can't just imagine a man crucified in the 21st century. Judging from earlier comments, I can say that the black race someday will surely be treated like an animal once again. |
We do not seek war- that is not our intention. We do not seek to create a bitter acrimony with other people around us. All we want is a land with freedom where we can pursue our dreams and aspirations without hindrance. We want to use our resources to develop our land the way that will speak good of our people. Nigeria can never give us that hence we call for biafra. Let the world here our cry. We don't want Nigeria. All we want is Biafra- the land of freedom and progress. |

Igbo's in the north have suffered more death consequences either due to ethnicity or religious view. yet We rock and we still believe in the Igbo nation.
..so because a man faced with criminal charges fails to do the needful, we must all suffer......
