It freezes my blood anytime I see oshole or ise owo that can bring a fixed amount like 50k, or awure 9k or oshole 200k, or oso gbe wa 5m. I would think what kind of charm or oshole would now fetch me 100m. Yes, 100m. And yes too, for those that would say 'just 100m'. Why 100m? The first day of this year I had a very strong feeling someone is going to bless me with that amount before the last day of this year. This, I'm very sure those scam babalawo won't have ise to bring such amount. I know. I have that conviction. There's nothing like oshole 50k, osole 1m. I'm not saying such ise won't work, but telling me it brings a particular fixed amount for everyone who uses it is what I won't concur with. I was born into this. Parents and grandparents are into mysticism. African science! None of these forebare ever mention such. There was a particular incidence that involved this present writer that uphold my belief in this. It even changed the minds of those who believed such. In the midst of initiates, n old man was encouraging us to prepare a particular charm that would fetch 100k that very day which nothing would stop it. Everyone was preparing his own, so was I. I joined the train for just one reason: I participated because I remember an incidence that happened one day with my late father. We visited a close friend of his, an awo. Met him eating, offered us water to wash our hand, meaning we should join him. I was surprised my father collected the water, signifying his intention to eat. While would my father want to eat when we barely finished eating pounded yam and bush meat before we came. I was more surprised because my father was a meat eater. I and my other siblings did bet on number of morsels he would swallow during a meal. Some would bet on 2 and some on 3. No one ever bet on 4 or more. There was even a day none of us won, he swallowed just a morsel, but plenty meats. Now the food the man offered had just two meats. Father extended the water to me, and made face before I could protest. I was literally playing with the food, while father swallowed 4 morsels in the course of the meal. None of my siblings and cousins believed me that papa could swallow 4 morsels when later I told them.

He later told me he forced himself to eat it because some other time you may need the food badly and once they see you as classy people now, you may not be invited. It's not only food. You may need something desperately from them...

So, I used the said oshole that could fetch 100k. It was during those period I do use imule like my life depended on it. Barely 5 minutes after, a young man called me, he introduced himself, his name and his friend who gave him my contact. I said jokingly, "omo mi daada ni" meaning his friend (who linked us) is my good son. He said "yes, that's the very reason I am calling. I also want to be one of your good sons. Please, store my number, so I can call you anytime. And please send me the other number... I mean your account number, I want to give you something to buy recharge card."

And in less than 2 minutes, a seven figure amount strolled in as recharge card money.

There are several factors that determine how much a particular work will fetch...

These works/charms/oshole are like seeds. Where a seed is planted determine the harvest. A seed planted in well prepared fertile land will definitely surpass those planted in desert, or amongst thorns, in yield.

Kannakanna Kan, kowe Kan, eyin ororo oojo Kan, atare Kan, ewe afeloru, if burnt and used once, everything, the same day, with gin, will definitely bring whoever uses it money. No doubt. But I will never tell you it can bring 10m because it has once done for someone, because it has also returned just the capital invested for another person.
Hmm, do these things have repercussions?

So, how come Pharmacy is in the shortage list of health professional in the UK.
And for Canada, Pharmacy being a professional course is equivalent to Masters degree in the express entry evaluation, therefore giving you a leverage and higher CRS score. I ask sure you know nothing about that, and you will open mouth wah! to vomit nonsense.

You need to read more, so you stop embarrassing yourself on a national forum. Nonsense.
Stop deceiving yourself I repeat.
As difficult as it is to practise medicine abroad, it is far easier than pharmacy.
I'm not talking theory now, and I hope you are not a student. Students get deceived alot.

My advice to everyone:

Even if na Yoruba Education dem give you, try to graduate with a 2:1. Why? Big 4 accounting firms and multinational companies would employ you with any degree in as much as its a 2:1.
Also, with a good grade, you have the opportunity of getting foreign scholarships and your own don better if na STEM. Your own don better pass everybody own if you were able to publish your final year project.

I am talking as a university lecturer who schooled outside Nigeria. The moment I see talent that is wasting, I would grab it like hawk wey dey thief chicken and mentor the person. I have seen a first class finance grad stay jobless for 6 years. Write ICAN, e nor gree. Open LinkedIn, mba no. Oya na wetin you wan do with your life? “I want to be a lecturer”. This lecturer work wey me sef wan try to escape? Your village people no try.

Again, I am seeing many of my ex students approaching me to write papers and put their names on it as co author so they can use it to gain scholarships. Same students that were extremely disrespectful and refused to be serious with their project when they were students. Me, I should use my money to do research and I will now spend 150k to publish and I should add your name? Can you do analysis? No. Do you have a laptop? No. Will you pay for the secondary data? No. You try.

In a nutshell, I am begging you all in the name of God to be serious with your project.
You are a lecturer...

One of the things I have observed on here that needs to be said is the seeming low self esteem of some posters.

A thread about posting pictures of food but you see clippings of laptops, computer keyboards, mobile phones, car keys, tabs etc conspicuously placed in such images.

To what end? To impress who? Why?

It should not matter on here whether all you have is bare ramen or soaked garri. Neither should it matter if you are privileged enough to feast on Mediterranean steak or Pacific salmon.

You are gracious enough to post images of your food, don't becloud the motive.
You need help.
I love such posts.
They motivate me.

Today, I was hit by an epiphany...
I normally drive around in a toyota camry (2002 model). Though somewhat old, it gets me from point A to point B, I use it for school runs, grocery runs and for work. So, today, my elder sister used the car to go get some stuff and I had to run some urgent errands for My mum. I had to use her car, a toyota highlander (2015 model).
On driving for some minutes, I was slamming some cool jams on the stereo, I realized that my mum's car was actually better, controls and all; the steering wheel turned smoother, the brakes worked better, the car accelerated smoother. It was then it dawned on me that her car was all round better than mine, that driving wasn't just about moving from point A to point B. I would not have come to the conclusion if I had not driven her car (which I was somehow skeptical about driving at first).
That exactly is how those who have been in Nigeria all their lives will never know how a sane society works, how stuff are meant to be. We are so used to the fvckery in nigeria that we see it as a way of life, we have gotten so used to suffering and smiling. We have been so used by our leaders, go to politics section, you'd see our youths taking sides and defending these same persons who are robbing us blind, the same people who have sworn never to relinquish power, who have sworn to keep nigeria in this undeveloped and backward state. Go to romance section, my mates are posting all over social media, making noise about bbn, "teamefe! teamtboss!" they cry, I shake my head in pity. My brothers and sisters, try as much as you can to leave nigeria, hustle for a tourist visa and visit a first world country, only then would you realize how messed up nigeria is. only then will you appreciate the difference between a Camry tiny light and a Bugatti Veyron.

Thanks for this piece of advice
you don't need to read more books.
What you need is ro open your mouth more and speak.
Stay with people who you can only speak English with. Try and build confidence while at it. You will be a pro.
I used to be like that, I write and type good English, but do not soeak well because people around speak vernacular. I got better when I changed environment.

EFCC do mount road Blocks and do stop and search in Edo state Benin city, at Ugbor close to BIU junction but one thing I don’t do is to allow those bastards into my phone they will need a warrant to conduct such search because phone is my personal property if they’re looking for fraudsters such crime is committed on the internet so they should also search for those doing fraud in the internet, FBI or other bureau of investigations abroad don’t go around harassing people they work with intelligence information but back in Nigeria everything tends to be different, I have been in this UAE for about 3yrs I have never seen where a police or any agencies stopping you to ask for your phone, the least they can ask you as a Nigerian or other foreign National is to tender your passport or residential permits to once you tender it they have all your data’s if you’re working in this country your company name is attached to your information…officials in Nigeria is corrupt and using outdated means of investigating crimes.
Do they need warrant to search ones bag?
I want to know how to tackle them wen next I'm traveling and they ask me to empty my bag

pocohantas:
What is wrong in cooking for your family? Forgive me, I find arguments like this mundane and irrelevant. Sadly it is what has become the order of the day when marriage is discussed. It shows there is something wrong with us as a people. Both male and female.

You were cooking in Nigeria, suddenly cooking is below you because you are abroad? There are bound to be issues.

Ordinarily, both parties should be helping each other. Domestically and financially, but when one person thinks chores are below him or assisting financially would make her a mumu, wahala done dey. Nigerians play too many mind games and relationships with them wears someone like me out.

You might not cook 7 days a week, but I believe a good husband, be it in Nigeria or Cambodia, should know when his wife has done her best and deserves some rest. On such days she should get her rest.

If her husband is not dicking her and he is making no effort to improve, she can leave the marriage with her dignity and value intact.

No adult abroad has time to even sit and eat three times a day. There are more pressing issues and Nigerian men and women should begin to upgrade their OS. We are too backward in our issues.
Thought you were a bitter Feminist
