greggng: Did you read the response he sent me yesterday? He has found out himself that I told him truth ...he has even bought 2009 Honda accord ....I wish to rest this matter....I will always tell people the truth and how they perceive it should be their own cup of tea. I thank everyone monitoring and following me from thread to thread .it shows I kept some people busy .
ok sur his response did not confirm your position on the price of an 08/09 toks accord
mrcoolautofix: That's interesting you are finding my English too hard to comprehend and digest, well you eat your broken I am good with my communication skills, my subscribers aren't complain why should I Care for a clown like you who is trying to be proud of being daft, grunge and stupid?
Barywhyte: You are right about this. Cars are now expensive especially Toks. I was adamant on getting 2010 models of any of those cars but I found them way expensive. 3million and above.
I found a neatly Nigeria used Accord 09 for 1.8m last week. The car was used by GTB bank branch manager, first body, accident free, 90000 plus mileage and it's 12 years old from United State. I searched out it's history using the chassis number and VIN. I don't like the color of the seats and this is what I am going to change. I'm also adding reverse camera to the car.
I plan using this for 6months, resell and get Lexus ES 350 early next year.
greggng: Tokunbo aka foreign used of 2010 Honda accord goes for 2.7million to 3.4million depending on if is accident or non accident ...you can visit popular car dealers to price ....there is no harm in pricing ...The problem must people have is comparing price of car in the past with what it is currently ...
For instance I use to buy nigerian 2004 corolla for 1.2million before , now is by Gods grace you will see one for 1.4m ...The point I am making is that cars are more expensive now ...you either buy now or you wait untill when miracle will happen and price will go down ...until then , face reality
Cars are more expensive now, we all know. But 2.5 will definitely get him a toks 08-09 accord and if he searches well enough he'll get a base model 10 accord
Wickedtruths: This was your post in response to a similar request in 2019.
You see, the Internet never forgets. Take your own advice, be honest and honourable enough to tell your client what you posted above.
You missed out a wicked and brutal truth, the Uncle Greg we know and love will never ever delay in telling his clients the current prices of goods and services in today's world. Infact I'm pretty certain the price he told his client is at least 12.5% higher than the price he put up there.
He is only trying to get the best for his clients to ensure they have peace of mind, nothing else.
mammanbawa: Truly Sarcasm was a difficult subject many skipped
I wonder how you young guys of nowadays just rush to comment everywhere on this forum, you are lucky ikenna is not a mod anymore because you would have been banned for life.
You are telling a 70yr old man that he didn't go through primary school properly? Where were u last 10years ago when he was already on Nairaland? Honestly, if only you guys had substance and something going on in your profile, you wouldn't have this much time to come here and troll a 70 something year old man.
Barywhyte: Guys, I'm getting my first ever car this month.
I drive in Lagos for about a year now, mostly my boss's car.
My budget is 2.5m for foreign used. Avalon/Honda Accord 2010 hopefully with reversed mirror. Not sure Honda Accord 2010 has reverse mirror. Anyone willing to sell? Will arrange for inspection in the course of the week.
Do you think I can get something like these with this budge? Honestly I can't afford more than this at this time as I have other projects going on. I need this car for easy movement between Lagos and Shagamu.
Stick with the foreign, maybe you should lower your choice year model and go for an 08 accord, you should definitely find one within your price range. Your budget will not get u an Avalon
greggng: Go and buy Nigerian used ...your budget cannot get you the tokunbo of those cars ....before it might but not now ....what is worth doing is what doing well. Don't be kobo wise and naira foolish ....save enough to buy your self a good car that you won't regret .
I don't understand, 2.5 cannot get him a toks 10 accord? So how much is the toks?
Honestly, this guy is one of the silliest, dimwitted people on cartalk
Na so so noise you sabi make, all while thinking you're the best thing since sliced bread
Empty headed, dull, bigoted nonentity
Carry your nonsense angel get lost abeg
c'mon now, let's not be too judgemental on this dimwitted fellow. he might be a clown but he's our clown and we take care of our own.
I hope you know that without people like this to spice things up once in a while, this section will get too dry. IMHO he is serving his purpose just fine
mrcoolautofix: OK here we go again......................
This car look great on the body but needs extra job to get it back in shape..
Yeah most Nigerian mechanic suck at rebuilding engine as much as complete car restore to have a look like new,
I will go first.. let show y'll how it's done.
OK those of you who think he is just ac guy or electronics guy, sorry you missed the bag.
This very brand of car is like a home away from home to me, so any issues such as ac, electrical, engine, trany, control system, computer diagnostics, have been my recipe for breakfast, lunch and dinner, last part I would be hitting would body detailing.. which will include painting and detailed body work, body compounding and polishing..
Ok now that you know this, you have a better view of my kind of technician not just a mechanic. Ok mind you this 2.0L aspirated engine block is aluminum not cast. See you on the other side... 20 valves meaning 5 valve per cylinder.
Let me leave a quote, yes I am the jack of all trades, you can add master of non, Then I go, hahaha nah Still better than master of one, if you catch my vibes, I will be rocking steady.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8tMoXvehbY
resourcedude: A standard private jet is out for sale in Kano. view the picture and call for inspection and purchase. for inquiry call eddy on 08181348167.
There's only one person I currently know that's in dire need for more speed
BushDoctor123: One of the plugs in my Peugeot 307 car is dead resulting to loss of torque. I changed the plug the problem still persisted. The coil connecting the plugs was tested by one "kasim" mechanic (I had no option because I traveled down to the village and had no access to a competent hand) I was told one of the coil was not supplying enough current to the particular plug. I was advised to buy the complete coil and it will be over. Please experts in the house, your advice is urgently needed. Below is the picture of the coil removed.
one of the major challenges with following your dreams and not the herd. Next time, travel with your mechanic and if you are going to spend some time there, pack enough random parts.
manmade: this is the type of questions the OP want people to be asking so that he can lure them into selling of their kidney in Libya or Malaysia or into the den of organs harvesters , this is a bait guys run for your dear life
Honestly, the ice breaker for me was when he said he has made money for his next generation! From selling one kidney? Impossible!!
mrcoolautofix: Nah I am good here I am certain that killshot got him resting in pieces now am here laughing out with mybsugar cane on my hands pissing on his grave, I was asleep hearing him screaming I am testy for drink.
My brother keep spitting jare, I am enjoying it and besides the demon worrying you ain't going nowhere soon.
mrcoolautofix: My real viewers are not Nigerians my real viewer's by statistics are 75% US citizens, others are from other European countries Nigerians are only there to find flaws in my grammatical structures not to Learn and I don't have problems with their poor mentality .. It's like that cos of them here don't know how much it cost to fix a car problem in Western world they pay their wack road side mechanics to fix their bicycle & come over here to rant, as such they are ignorant of the how expensive it for me putting up information free of charge out there...
Bro I totally understand you but you also need to understand something - the fact that most of your viewers are not Nigerians doesn't mean that you have arrived, it can actually mean you are driving in the wrong direction. They might be using you as a statistic or for negative reference (top worst auto channels) most likely but highly unlikely is using your video as a practical reference.
You might need to start telling yourself the truth
His video is wack, dumb and outright silly - There are others way dumb.er than his video.
He is trying to hard to mimick the Americans, even tho he has almost failed completely he is still better than some others out there like speed darl.
He obviously doesn't know Jack about cars and is only interested in electronics - Should we blame him? No, some others are not even interested in any part of the vehicle, they are interested solely in your pockets.
In all I just think he is in dire need of assistance. Looking at his posts, one can easily deduce that he is a failed rapper who tried everything in his power to make it through rap music but probably failed woefully. Why he failed? I don't know - might be his accent, his badly constructed lyrics or even his content that reeks of curses and grossly lacks creativity. He was forced to venture into anything viable and that's where we are today so guys let's cut him some slack and if anyone has connect with a record label he/she can connect him so he can make himself useful to the Society and stop brandishing his ignorance and frustration to th public.
mrcoolautofix: We don't need your approval to do what we do this week is rebuilding lexus GS300 06
Mr cool on the beat again. Hope this customer won't lash out at you if you get it wrong?
And one more thing,
Don't be silly! If I take my car to a mechanic to fix it, I expect him to do just that. It's a paid service innit? When he falls short of expectations then I lash out with whatever channel I've got. If you perform well and I decide to praise you openly, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IT!!! it's a plus and you should treat it as one, the payment is enough praise. That's how business is. How many times have you opened a thread or openly praised the young girl/ boy attending to you at the supermarket when your orders are processed accurately? How many times have you paid homage to the Panadol manufacturer for your headache that cleared after taking the drug as the manufacturer claims? But if it goes wrong, you come online and start shouting everywhere as in the case of a guy bashing a stationary vehicle on the street with his eagle eyed golf 3 /golf 4, you know the guy.
Don't be too silly to think you should demand vocal or written praise for a paid service you claim to render. Emphasis on "claim".
Solohitt555: Hey guys, I think I blew up my engine yesterday. I did the unthinkable of forgetting to cap my radiator and then driving off to work!
I frequently topped up my radiator because of poor seal at the mouth. The engine is otherwise in great shape with no fault codes, and aircon chilling without break since 2008! This is a 1MZ-FE on a 2001 Avalon.
So, back to my pain, yesterday, without the radiator cap on, the water evaporated off, and I was only alerted when I noticed what sounded and felt like pinking noise, then low power. By the time my eyes went to the temperature guage, the engine just died on the Oshodi expressway. Total driving time was at least 45 min. I'm not a car novice, which is why this is so distressing, but I need you gurus to spell it all out for me, and tell what I'm faced with here.
Wow, you drove a car for 12+ years? You deserve an award.
