Politics › Re: Fact Check: Does Nigeria Have More People Living In Extreme Poverty Than India? by Zaggafrank: 6:24am On Feb 04, 2021 |
salbis: If living below $1.90 a day is considered poor, more than 70% of Nigerian populace would be considered to be poor. Living below $1.90 cannot be used as a standard because that's relative to where you reside. For someone who lives in the village, and is a farmers, he may not be seeing those cash on daily basis but net worth is more than that by the time he harvests and does the tabulation. And he doesn't starve. A large portion of Nigerians are farmers. So, that $1.90 can only be used to judge those who live in the town. As for me that spends most of my time in my village, how often do I need to buy anything? Is it not when I need something and I cannot afford it, that I say I am poor? |

garfield1: The above northerners you mentioned are people that have always been against buhari so do you expect them to speak good of him? You simply do not know what nepotism is.is attahiru related to buhari? Is he from katsina? Are they in any way linked or connected? So buhari appointing a northerner from another state is nepotism but gej appointing diezani from bayelsa is ok?
Commonsense demands that since buhari has appointed a southerner as cds,a northerner will head coas.this is the tradition since 1999.one region cannot head both defence and army.. Now onto the choice of attahiru, attahiru is the best man for the job.he was not sacked for corruption but actually prevented corruption and allowed the media to have access to inner workings of the war which incurred the wrath of buratai.this is the same thing that just earned general segun adeniyi demotion last year.do you know that after attahiru was sacked, boko haram killed more people under his successors like gen rodgers? Attahiru was never incompetent.he was never in the cabal of buratai. I know you wanted buhari to appoint gen adeosun as coas but adeosun is senior to irabor.adeosun is rc 32 same as buratai.irabor is rc 34 and attahiru is rc 35.therefore,adeosun had to retire along with buratai after all he had overstsyed beyond his retirement year.
Finally, premium times have published severally a list of all the appointments by buhari and the south has more appointments.the southwest has the highest number of appointees.ogun state has more appointees than even kano and katsina so my friend, you have nothing to say. Tell him. A lot of them just join the bandwagon without knowing where it originated or is heading |

Politics › Re: There Is A Growing Resentment Of Fulani Herdsmen Within The Hausa Community. by Zaggafrank: 9:38am On Feb 03, 2021 |
NafeesaAA: When you have an ethnic group at war with Igbos, Yoruba, Hausa, Berom, Bachama, Tarok, Tiv, Jukuns, Edo, Nupe, Ebira, Ghanaians, Mali, CAR etc then definitely something is wrong with that ethnic group.
Am Hausa, but I will not let emotions control my feelings. Two years back I can confidently travel from Kano city to Gaya town 2am in the night. But today, travelling between Wudil in Kano to Gaya anything after 7pm is dangerous. No thanks to these Herdsmen.
What is happening in the South-West & South East is inhumane and cruelty to animals but can you blame them? I bet you, in the next few years similar mob actions against these herdsmen will start taking place in the North. We have seen flashes of them in Zamfara and Kastina.
There's is a vacuum ... irresponsibly created by the apparent reluctance of the past & current FG to curtail the growing security threat posed by herdsmen to lives and property in many parts of the country.
People, who are reckoning that without the reassuring protection of the state, their survival depends on defending themselves by any means necessary.
So instead of reacting to a symptom ... the government should tackle the threat, so that besieged citizens and innocent herdsmen alike are not unfortunately consumed in this inferno. MC Alhaji
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=422039259102902&id=100038904938999 the fulanis are not at war with any ethnic group. The problem is that people who hate Buhari have decided to extend that hatred to his ethnic group. And the fulanis have refused to educate their people, hence their stories are being told by people who hate them. I know a few of them in my school and they are very brilliant. But the elderly ones have refused to realise that this is the 21st century and the general societal trends of criminality has also eaten into them too |

You are governing Taraba state and the chief security officer of the state, what have you done to secure the state beyond hiring thugs to kidnap and kill people from other tribes to Stoke up conflicts? A local government chairman you appointed was arrested after some thugs were arrested going to dump bodies in an area to trigger a conflict and he was implicated, that case has never been heard of again because it's the responsibility of the state to prosecute him |

I don't really believe Nigerian news reports anymore |

ValCon888: The CDS in Nigeria is just a toothless bulldog surrounded by herdsmen masquerading as service chiefs.
As a matter of fact, the most influential position amongst the service chiefs is the Chief of Army Staff which will always be headed by a herdsman as far as the Grand Patron of Herdsmen is concerned.
Terrorism can never end in Nigeria because there's no idealogical difference between the terrorists and those heading the fight against terror. What you don't know, just keep quiet. What do you know about military planning and CnC? How do the military work as a unit with maximum utilisation of the various arms in a comprehensive operational strategy without a CDS heading the DHQ? From your herdsmenisation of the security system, it shows you are one of those ethnoreligious bigots who can't see anything beyond the periscope you have already enunciated. |

I believe he is speaking as an individual. I know people who have become fish farmers, own palm plantations and started small business because of the experience they got from Npower. I can attest to this. Besides, he is the senate committee chairman on the army and should be saying something useful about the army instead of talking about what he has little knowledge of. Is he not part of those who were fighting to be allocated slots for the public works programme? |

Anyways, since you said you forgot the university, let's jump and pass that issue.
Moreso, his diction should even tell you that while in UK, even during his long stay there, he didn't relate with the wider society. He only related with the Nigerian (Igbo) society there. His diction and intonation should even tell you that he is just like those bums around the street of London. You are very correct. He speaks like someone who is still begging to go to the UK. If there have ever been a time we need well meaning Nigerians, especially of the South West extraction to speak up, it is now. We need to rebuke this evil that the fulani herdsmen have taken too far. Without any corresponding brutal reaction, regardless of the FG's noise, the North in general would never stop trampling on us the way they feel.
