its cheap at least with 3pounds I can call 10minutes or more to Nigeria
On a Vodafone contract sim, £3.50 gives you 100 minutes to call Nigeria

Does Giff gaff offer something reasonable as well. Or make I just port?
Giffgaff doesn’t do an international minutes bundle. So it might be expensive calling Nigeria

Some people said EE is good. Please which other network provider is okay for making international calls and cheap for data subscription.
I used Vodafone and it was far better than lyca. I was using lyca at first but it was really expensive because you had to buy data, national minutes and international minutes separately. When I discovered Vodafone, I ported my lyca number over to Vodafone. I used to pay either £3.50 for 100 minutes or £7 for 500 minutes to call Nigeria. And my contract came with unlimited data. You can check out their website.

I saw something online about the post brexit policy starting from January 1st. One of the criteria to gain points reads that your employer in the UK should be able to pay you about £25k/year

Will this policy also affect the migration of nurses to the UK? Because I do not think pre-registered nurses in the UK get paid that much

I may be totally wrong about the whole thing. I need clarifications please

Cc Barbie and anyone who is knowledgeable about this
For professions on the shortage list, an applicant can be paid lower as long as it is the ‘going rate’ for the profession. I guess pre-registered nurses fall under this.

Pls has anyone had experience with bicycle riding during the winter period? I am thinking of getting a bike to ease the cost of transport for me. but I am also considering the cold. I don't know how it is when winter sets in. And hoping my investment in buying the bike would not be futile.

If you have any experience on this. Kindly share.

Thanks

Yeah I appreciate your understanding. I witnessed many school mates go home because they couldn’t practice nursing so I believed the stories I heard. But I’m glad I got corrected, the last thing I want is to misinform people.
There’s two types of MSc in Nursing. The pre-reg and the MSc designed for already registered nurses. Maybe they did the wrong type of MSc

Lol if nursing was a passion, it would have been the first degree! Lol

People need to be care and not be misled. They can’t practice nursing with a masters in nursing unless they have a first degree in nursing. It’s a professional course, you gotta have the first deg to practice.
You can practice nursing with a pre-registration MSc. I’ve seen lots of people do that and they are quialified nurses now.

Though this might not necessarily apply to someone applying from Nigeria, but I just have to say this so that anyone that wants to apply from within UK won’t be discouraged

I didn’t have a degree in nursing when I got my admission to study MSc Mental Health Nursing. On the interview day, there was a guy that studied accounting, he also got admitted. All that was required then was minimum of 6 months health care experience, well written personal statement and performance at the interview.
The process is the same for applicants from Nigeria. The only difference is you might be require to write IELTS as part of the conditions of your offer. Also not all unis accept international students but a fair number do

1.To study MSC Nursing, you must have had a degree in Nursing.
2. B.A won't get you MSc Nursing
but the person can do Bsc Nursing in some schools not all UK schools accept International students for Nursing/Social Works.
3. B.A/Bsc/MSC Social Works in the UK is very competitive.
- A lot of schools don't admit international students because the course has a 170 days work placement attached to it that a student visa can't fit into.
- A lot of schools want someone who has had 4/5 years working experience in that field, so its more of experience than qualification.
- Its a 3 step admission in most schools (Written test, Interview and a background check/declaration).
Like that....like that.
This isn't correct. You can apply for a Pre-registration Nursing MSc with an undergraduate degree in any discipline for some schools.some universities require 500-800 hours of healthcare experience (like 6 months of full-time work). Hertfordshire doesnt even need an applicant to possess healthcare experience.

Thanks Sis for chipping in. I appreciate the both of you. You know how we view universities can be a subjective thing. It doesnt mean one party is right or wrong.
As I said funny enough na Lincoln dey do me shakara say they want to write my school to confirm transcript. This, since May.

As it is Kent or Westminster may be the final choices out of necessity.
Lincoln is very thorough with their admission process. They did the same to me, kept asking for more documents when other schools have interviewed and even given me a place. I think I prefer their thoroughness because it will reduce the list of conditions I have to meet after i am offered a place which is unlike other universities who give you an offer conditional on documents you submitted with your application such as personal statement and references.

All of you saying agent agent agent regarding flight tickets, are you saying if I purchased a ticket online last month for departure date of 23rd September at £500, if I approach an agency today, I can get a ticket for less than such amount?

I guess this should show the reason why you think the agency tickets are cheaper. As much as an agency could get discounts from an airline, I doubt they will sell below what was purchased.

Contact an agent today for a ticket in October, go online and check the price for same date, it is lower than what the agency offers.
Sometimes they are cheaper. See what I found on skyscanner.

Unless the requirements have changed now, then you might be right.
However i had never sat for any exam to prove my knowledge of English since migrating to the UK from college up till university days. When I did my spouse visa I application, I submitted my UK degrees and they accepted it. Unless something has changed in the modern times to warrant them asking you for IELTS even when you can prove that your degree or qualifications were thought in English ...... but who know things might have changed now
For nursing, you have to write an English proficiency exam as long as you're not a citizen of the UKVI approved English-speaking countries. For courses that do not require professional registration, most unis accept WAEC.

Is IELTS part of the requirements if one can proof undergoing studies in English and backing it up with a reference from their alma mater?
Sometimes, it isn't accepted. Even with my previous studies in the UK, Northumbria still asked me to write IELTS.

You could also check out the website of the council you'll be schooling in. It usually contains what you need to do to be exempt from paying council tax.

Even if the time frame is feasible, you’re not yet a student (officially). So you’re not permitted to work until you enroll as a full time student.
The guidance was updated. You can actually work fulltime before the beginning of your programme. But most times, it doesn't work out like that because it takes a while to apply for NI and get a job.

Hi everyone, in trying to make payment via Paga Verve using a Zenith Bank Card, it kept saying I exceeded my limit of N100,000. Paga verve has upgraded my account to N200,000 limit and I am trying to pay for 2years which is N190k. Did any upgraded their card through Zenith bank after Paga had upgraded it? please respond urgently.
I think you might have to fund your PAGA wallet and pay from it directly instead of using your bank card.

Abeg make Una help me!!!!
I've got with both UBA and GTB. IMO, UBA is better because I wasn't stressed by the bank while trying to open my account. I wasn't even asked for guarantors while GTB kept rejecting the guarantors I provided. Moreover, the bank-customer relationship I experienced with UBA was far better than with GTB.

Its not needed for interview. Only to be presented in school.
If its mentioned in your cas, you'd need to present it during the visa process. For healthcare courses you usually need a dbs certificate in order to yet an unconditional offer but you can only apply for that in the UK, so some universities ask for a police report from your country instead.
